IRIS Optometrists and Opticians

We bought 2 pair of prescription glasses and we are really satisfied with it.
The eye doctor was very Nice.
David T was our optician and He was very helpful to us in choosing the right frame, and also knowledgeable in explaining the details of the cost for the specific glasses that I need.

My partner and I - both women in our mid-thirties - went in to look at some frames, get an idea what we’re looking for as both need an update on our glasses. Our eye exams are book for two weeks from now so we weren’t ready to make a purchase today. We were greeted by several staff that offered assistance and kindly left to be after we told them we were just looking today. That is until one male employee decided to take issue with us. We declined his help at least 4 times but he made sure to follow us to any corner of the store we went and watch us like hawks. I don’t mean a glance here or there. I had to stop trying on frames because he was making it such an uncomfortable experience. With every frame I’d try on, I’d go to check them out in the mirror and the employee would be staring me down in the mirror. I even announced a bit louder than necessary to my partner that I wouldn’t be trying on anymore frames due to how uncomfortable this staff member was making me but he persisted. We eventually left as it felt so incredibly rude to not be able to make a single move without being having every moved watched by this guy. We both agreed that we would absolutely not be coming back to purchase any eyewear with them. The breathing down our neck didn’t feel at all like an employee trying to make a commission but rather an overzealous and judgement person keeping an eye on us - why this man thought two professional, grown adults with shopping bags from other purchases around the mall would be coming to steal frames without function lenses is beyond me. Making potential customers feel distrusted simply for being there was alienating, upsetting and frustrating. I hope this feedback will help to ensure that future clientele aren’t deterred for these same reasons.

David was very friendly and accommodating throughout the whole experience as he helped us get through all the paper work quite quickly! There was also the girl at the front desk who helped me pick out some frames for more options and i was grateful that she went around the store with me.

Dr. Herman Cheng at Iris richmond centre was fantastic. Very professional and helpful with my eye exam. Assisted with my prescription and glasses selection. I would highly recommed this optometrist for new patients.

I bought one of their Gucci frames with the extended asian fit (all because my low bridge nose makes it hard for me to find glasses that fit properly) back in 2020 and today I went into the RMC branch because it was starting to become crooked from all the times I've dropped it (Yes, I'm clumsy I admit that), but the staff we're very understanding and friendly that they immediately fixed it so that it is no longer crooked and they even cleaned up the scratches for me, for no charge.

I was in Richmond for a conference and just asked by chance if they would have an opening the next day. They were able to fit me in and the experience was so amazing. Each person I dealt with was so nice and the optometrist I'm sure was working late and didn't need to see a walk in. He made the time though and didn't rush through it just to shoo me out the door. I'm from a small very remote town in BC but I'll be making my way back to this IRIS Richmond for any future eye needs.

Everyone who works there is amazing EXCEPT for the manager named Kelly. I hope you never have to deal with her. The most condescending, rude, and unprofessional manager I’ve dealt with. Will never buy anything this location again.

I went to IRIS in Richmond Centre for my eye exam with Dr. Cheng. He is an excellent Optometrist and I also found a staff member Annie to be an amazing sales consultant too. Dr. Cheng and Annie can speak fluent Cantonese and English. I am very lucky to have them as I have been in BC for only a few months.

Annie is very patient, knowledgeable and caring for her clients. She never push you to buy but she can verbalize what you need even before you figure it out yourself. She answered all my questions and she treats me not like a customer but as a friend.

I can’t stress the importance of costumer service.
My daughter has gone for eye exams here twice, as well as my son (we were both recommended by my daughter due to the detailed and professional eye examinations). My daughter who is under the same insurance coverage as myself has always paid the exam through direct billing so I assumed for myself, I assumed wrong. As much as I liked the professionalism of the eye exam, I can’t say the same for the associate I was dealt with. I felt rushed during the transaction. I don’t want to mention who it is for privacy reasons. I was considering getting glasses but decided otherwise due to the rush and the associate’s unprofessionalism. I was questioned for my coverage (I’m covered under my husband’s name), which I understand being cautious but it could’ve went about more professionally.

Overall, I recommend this place if you want detailed eye exam but caution towards the rushing of associates.

David Truong is the most friendly and knowledgable person to go to for glasses. We went back to Iris to buy another pair of glasses for my son. No pressure from David, just his warmth and expertise. He even took the time to explain what the numbers on the prescription meant. When the glasses arrived he adjusted the fit like a seasoned professional. Go see David!

Went to get an eye exam and also contacts i was helped by Annie who was really nice, friendly and helpful. Overall i was happy with my visit and would recommend Annie for good and efficient service.

Very friendly staff- Nicola helped me pick up the right frame and I loved the care she provided. Having said that, I wish I was advised to choose the frame at another time- I had just undergone an eye exam and could barely see what I was picking because of a drop the optometrist had put for the examination. But it gives more credit to Nicola because after all, I am happy with my frame. Thanks!

Annie is so professional and welcoming, she arranged eye exam for me, and specialist is professional and friendly. Annie only recommended what's best fit for me and provide options on lenses and frames, no unreasonable upsell that i had experienced before in other stores. I will highly recommend this place and Annie's services！

Me and my family stopped by Iris today to get glasses for my brother and sister. We were paired with David who made the entire experience so enjoyable. He was communicative, patient and had such a positive energy. It was my sister's first time getting glasses and I think she had a good time shopping! He also worked diligently to make sure our direct claim went off without a hitch!

We can't wait to pick up our glasses next week and are so thankful to have met with David today!

Unprofessional receptionist that needs training in customer service. They also get you to pay and then tell you product won’t be available for a week or two lol! Ask for a refund and they act like they don’t know how to process it. Far better options.

I had a great experience at Iris Optometry. Loveleen was extremely helpful and patient. During my initial visit, she spent a lot of time to help me pick out a frame that fit my face and my budget. She was also patient on explaining all the different lenses to me to make sure I get the best option for my needs. I noticed my vision was still imperfect after I picked up my glasses, Loveleen made all the arrangements for me to follow up. She is the best salesperson and I would definitely come back for my future needs.

The team at Iris, Richmond Centre is top notch! They were extremely helpful from the vision test, to selection and completing the purchase. They also aligned seamlessly with my Insurance provider. I've found that challenging at other retailers. You absolutely need to use this store if you are in the market for glasses or sunglasses!

Although I’ve had eye exams there before, this was our first time purchasing eyewear from Iris R. C. David, as well as the other staff (and in particular one female optician whose name I unfortunately don’t know, but she was absolutely lovely and so patient), took great care of my family from start to finish and went out of his way to make sure I would be happy with my purchase. It’s very rare to receive such a high level of personalized customer service, and much appreciated. I will not hesitate to buy from this location again in the future. Highly recommend.

Great place to get eye exam and glasses. The optometrist was very nice as well as the reception. My glasses were also a bit loose and I went in to get them adjusted. David was very helpful in adjusting my glasses and he saw that my girlfriend's glasses were loose too and adjusted them as well! Very friendly staff!

It was very pleasant experience visiting the store. I visited with my dad as he got glasses but I want to mention that we were treated and guided very nicely by Sandhya. She helped us throughout the conversation and did not rush giving us some amazing customer service. I highly recommend this place.

I've been a happy and satisfied customer of IRIS since 2013. I've been to several different places like Iris, but none of them are as good. They have a great selection of frames and nice lenses. Their stuff's a bit pricier than other establishments, but honestly, the quality and service is definitely worth it.

I've usually purchased branded frames in the past, but this time, I ended up liking an in-house frame that was 50% off. Service was the same, and the quality was consistent. They estimated for my glasses to finish around 2~3 weeks, but it came in a lot earlier than that (~1.5 weeks).

I highly recommend IRIS to those who are looking for a shop they'd like to stick to for good.:) Thanks again!
