IRIS in Powell River provides an overwhelmingly positive experience. The staff and doctors are professional and caring, the office is immaculate, and the examination process and technology are modern and in-depth. IRIS in PR is eyecare at its finest.

Dr. Wyse was not able to diagnose my torn retina (two large tears). He refused me the tests that would have determined the extent of the damage. He told me to make an appointment and get in line. Three month wait…. I begged for an earlier appointment or to be called for a cancellation. After a month, during which my eyesight worsened, I saw Dr. Wong his associate. She immediately diagnosed the problem and warned me of serious problems if it was not attended to immediately.
I flew to Vancouver for surgery the next day.
I would not recommend Dr Wyse. My treatment lacked lacked caring and competence.

I experienced an odd vision event for which Dr. John Wyse squeezed me in, within one business day. After a thorough examination and clean bill of visual health, he was still suspicious of my symptoms and sent me, instructions in hand, to the ER. A CT and angiogram later, I was diagnosed as having had a Tia, and at serious risk. The neurologists have told me Dr. Wyse probably saved my life. We in Powell River are extraordinary lucky to have him. I am eternally grateful!
