Island Marble

We just finished having our bathroom remodelled by Dave and the crew at Island Marble. From the initial visit to completion of the project, EVERYONE was exceptional. Project timelines were communicated effectively; everyone arrived on the scheduled date and on time; the people who worked on the project were professional and respectful; and, the quality of the end product is exceptional. We can run out of adjectives to describe how happy we are. We will use them again for our second bathroom and won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reno. It is refreshing to see the quality and care of customer service and workmanship that is rare these days. Thank you!

We recently had our bathroom remodelled by Island Marble. The two young men that came to our home (I believe their names were Liam and Oakley) were very efficient, polite, professional, organized and clean and tidy. From start to finish they did a great job and left our home nice and clean. Very impressed by them and the products they installed. In these days of mediocrity being the standard, it was a very refreshing experience.

We had Island Marble remodel our bathroom because we believe it is important to support local businesses. Our new bathroom is beautiful with mostly great workmanship, but there were many challenges along the way. If you use this company, make sure that you check that they have measured correctly-our countertop was measured a foot short, the mirror was several inches off, and the 42 inch shower door was measured to be 35 inches so had to be replaced. We trust when we have someone come in that they are doing the measurements correctly. However, this is not so. This caused considerable delays to the completion of our project-what should have taken a couple of weeks lasted for almost 2 months with no apology from the company. Also, we did not get everything that we were promised-we had to go out and buy our own bar and shelves. Throughout the construction, I had to almost every time call Dave or nothing was done. When I did call though, the workers came quickly. The only work that was not of good quality was the plumbing under the sink-the pipe underneath leaked and the hot water faucet was loose.

Just getting started but so far super nice people and found some great products in the show room.

David was exceptional contractor on this 4 week job to renno master bathroom for disabled. On time, accurate quote, checked in by phone or in person daily. He coordinated 6 great tradespeople and ensured they came on time, had protective gear/dropclothes for hall and bathroom. David has keen eye for design details and solutions to unusual walk in shower and seat placement. Cabinets, tile, shower inserts, marble vanity all top quality. Loved the experience we are having him back to do the guest bathroom!

It’s been 6 months now since Island Marble completed our bathroom. We still walk in every morning and say “What a great shower! Love the bespoke vanity! ” The walls and trim are beautiful and so easy to clean. The whole process was very efficiently scheduled and stayed on budget. We appreciated the fun and talented group of trades people. Four thumbs up!

Remodelling or renovation work can come with a variety of stressors. We chose David Cumming from Island Marble over other candidates because of his attention to detail and confident, down to earth manner. We wanted a local company with unique local products wherever possible and a visit to David’s showroom confirmed high quality products that were constructed on site. Our bathroom/bedroom re-do was overseen by David and his team of workers who provided careful craftsmanship. Small incidents were quickly addressed and challenges overcome in a professional manner. Our project came in under budget which is a rare thing in this business. Guests in our home have commented on the transformation and inquired where they might access the same. We happily recommend David Cumming.

Very satisfied with the work and the completed shower is stunning. As with any renos, especially with an older home, issues arise but the mark of a good company is how they deal with problems and strive to resolve them to the customers satisfaction. We love the new shower and would definitely recommend Island Marble.

The crew of skilled tradespeople that Island Marble has assembled is wonderful. They were always on time (or would call if running late). They clean up after themselves after their work day was done and the work they did is top notch.

The Whole Package:
David's team, including Tim, are consummate professionals and very skilled in their respective roles. We found all of the people we dealt with, including Loree in the front office, to be conscientious, considerate, and very knowledgeable on renovations, showers and bathrooms. Our experience has been nothing less than exceptional, and we highly recommend them to anyone wanting the job done right!

After an altercation instigated by Tim (their "foreman" today I would have to give a strong word of caution to anyone dealing with this company or these people. Upon being verbally threatened by the before mentioned individual to have him "make my mouth bleed" should I not back down to his intimidating demeanor a police file was opened by myself. When I spoke with the owner via phone to inform him of the character and behaviour of his employees he was extremely dismissive in my concerns about employing someone who displays such vigor for violence, excusing such behaviour as acceptable because he "does good work". If you would like to give your business to a company who feels like it's okay to intimidate, lie, and verbally assault people then by all means give them your dollar. However if you believe that treating people with respect and kindness matters more then please feel free to give this review a share.
