We like Dr. MacIntosh, she did two surgeries for my Mom and everything went well, including all follow up visits, very professional. Yes, I have to agree on the waiting time, it can be really bad (over two hours) even if you have an appointment, but I think it's common with doctor's appointments.

Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. After waiting for over an hour to see the doctor, I left half way through the examination with her. The attitude is unbearable

Disgustingly bad experience, DO NOT see this ophthalmologist. I want to give zero stars but I am forced to pick one at least. The staff in the office is poor, and you will for sure wait for hours for your appointment even if it's first thing in the morning because they pack in too many appointments, but what is really bad is the experience of seeing this ophthalmologist herself once you are called. Rude and dismissive. Unprofessional. Lacks empathy or emotional intelligence. And the kicker - if you ask too many questions she will get mad at you, get up, open the door and wait for you to leave. Wow, just wow, such a terrible experience. Patients are scared because they have some concern with their vision, one of the most important things, and how they are treated is just insane. If you have been referred to her, don't go, just ask for another referral. You will be glad you did.

Got referred here because my eyes were jittering back and forth sparatically and it was so bad I had to stop driving. Went to see her and after waiting over 3 hours she told me it was "normal and happens with age" (I'm 32) and wouldn't listen to my concerns. Turns out (after seeing someone else) I had a 2 week long stress migraine. I was polite and courteous and she dismissed me with contempt. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I was in the Richmond office, Dr. J. M. Macintosh was great very caring and her staff were great very helpful and treated me very well. I don't understand your reviews. I'll be going to the Vancouver office next week and I'll let you guys know

Today i went to Dr. J. M. Macintosh office in Vancouver, i was in and out in less then 40 minutes, the staff was very knowledgeable.

She did a cataract operation on me and damaged the iris then denied it and covered it up with False reports

Stay away from this doctor at all costs

I was generous to give her a One

Alway late for appointment at list 40 mins. I wish they have better staffs who can be nicer and know how to say “ sorry “, please don’t book so many people at the same time.

Simply read the reviews. Its evident this doctor doesnt give a hoot about her patients and is only into this $$$$$$$ grab. Worst doctor's visit of all time. Absolutely a over booked health care scam.
This kind of inconsiderate medical practise is why our health care system in BC is bleeding money. This doctor should be investigated and suspended. Arrived at 9: 30 into a filthy maxed out waiting room that had all chairs filled. Seen elderly disabled people have to stand while waiting. And watched staff conduct medical practise in a unprofessional filthy manner. Left infuriated at 11: 45 without have seen the doctor. Missed job interview due to this ridiculous office practise. NEVER.again.
Should avoid at all costs.

I have had 5 appointments and my average late time has been 30-60 minutes. The staff seem to have little regard for people’s time. I finally bailed on my last appointment after waiting 2: 25 minutes.

Staffs.not sure if they are proud of being professionals in medical industry.communication is very difficult and I don't know why the staffs are so offensive.if they cannot handle the work, they should let the competent people to take over the jobs.

My experience is similar to what the other patients have described. I’d honestly recommend going anywhere else! The wait times are disgusting and the Dr. Is unapologetic and extremely anti-social. She doesn’t listen to your questions or comments and simply throws a prescription at you without actually knowing what’s happening with your eyes. To properly diagnose an issue without 1) Asking any questions and 2) Only seeing you for approx. 2 min, isn’t very likely. I’m currently in the process of making an appointment with my family doctor to see if I can see a different specialist that takes the time to interact with their patients. In addition, the waiting room is just SAD!

Conclusion: Do not go here unless you want to wait 2 hours for someone to see you for 1-2 mins and throw a prescription (that may not work) at you.

They do not even deserve 1 star.worst Eye doctor and staff ever! IF you got all day long to wait there go for it. I got in after 2 hours waiting pass my app.time, and only took Doc 3 mins and just said to me " see me in 2 years"! Stuff had no respect for you what so ever, and they can put you behind in line if they feel like it. What a s**ty service! I will never go back there again!
