Completely disappointed in the quality of the food we had traveled all day and expected a good Chinese meal. Over priced totally!

I've eaten inside the restaurant a couple of times, but usually if I want anything from here I call ahead, usually I order the fried rice and when ever I'm walking back home I get asked where I got my food lol

The modest restaurant stands out for its wide, fresh and very tasty selection of dim sum dishes. Lines form and tables are occupied quickly from breakfast till lunch, and a madhouse at noon. Food quality matches the best in Hong Kong. Great place for a quick and low-cost meal in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown.

Blandest food for dim sum I ever had in my life. My parents hyped this restaurant having decent dim sum but it was pure disappointment.

The food was bland like har gow, and sui mai. Ham sui gok was bad as the dough sticks to your teeth when you take a bite which it should not stick to your teeth. Chicken feet not cook properly as it was tough.

Lo mai gai (rice lotus leaf wrap) was very dry that it was hard to swallow the rice. Guess what? It was bland and barely any filling.

Egg tart was bad as the crust is not crispy and the custard was bland.

Nothing redeemable about this restaurant other than service was good. Very disappointing.

This is a more traditional style Chinese Restaurant with dim sums and Cantonese Food as usual. I came too early to be able to try their chef specials, so we only able to try their dim sum. If you want to try their specials, come at 11 am onwards.

Only got to try the siew mai, prawn rice dumpling, shanghai dumpling, steamed tofu skin with enoki roll and the sticky rice with meat and mushroom. Overall, it was OK. Chilli paste was good. Service was OK too. On street paid parking is available.

This place has very traditional dim sum dishes and some new ones too. Pricing is reasonable with current trends and you won't leave hungry. Food took longer than expected and the ambience is what you would expect with a restaurant in Chinatown. Beware as parking is tricky as the street is very busy.

I took my teens to Dim Sum first time in their life and they loved it. Thank you, Jade Dynasty!

Vancouver Chinatown has markedly deteriorated since I came there last about 6-7 years ago. The street was dirty and smelled of urine. There were homeless people all around. Unfortunately, this restaurant was located right in the middle of this craziness. We came on a Monday so we ordered the dimsum off the menu. They came fast and hot. I love the salt and pepper calamari since it came with huge squid pieces, lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The chicken feet was a disappointment. They were not as tender as it should be. There was a large selection of non-meat dimsum but mostly fried. The egg custard came in 3 pieces and the crust was not very flaky. Service was quick.

Jade Dynasty Restaurant is the first dim sum restaurant I've tried in Canada. Upon entering, you climb a flight of stairs into the buzzing atmosphere. The staff here speak primarily Canto, so be patient with them! Service is definitely a miss, but that's common in other dim sum restaurants I've been to.

The dumplings and steamed rice rolls were soft, fresh, and had the perfect texture. Filling was juicy and generous. Almost everything was well-seasoned, though some items were under (gailan, beef rolls) and others were over (pork buns, chicken feet). The flavors here are overall less sweet and more heavy on the aromatics than Californian dim sum. The food also came out one by one, but was very fresh, high-quality, and delicious!

The Wi-fi password was on the menu (no spaces btw) and bathrooms were clean. They also did not refill our water and tea; it was difficult to call a server.

EDIT: The har gow and shu mai are some of the BEST I've ever had! Delicate skins with perfect texture, juicy fillings, perfectly seasoned. I'd return just to eat them again.

This restaurant is the only reason you should ever come to Chinatown. Absolutely delicious authentic Chinese food. I wish I could eat here every day. However it should be noted that the area is VERY sketchy…

The food is good but not great and waiting time is half a hour. Food per serving is less for the price. Stir Fried Noodles with beef is great but the rice flour roll is tough, taste old. Service is good. Dining place is too crowded and noisy.

The pros: authentic food & hardworking staff

The cons: It takes too long to get your food. We ordered only half a dozen dim sum dishes and were brought out one at a time over the course of an hour (kitchen seems disorganized). They don’t bring out basic dim sum sauces. If you can’t handle a Sunday morning rush as a dim sum place, then don’t stuff so many tables into the restaurant! People are knocking into each other getting in and out from their tables.

Final verdict: only go with a pile of patience

Found this gem looking up best dim sum. Did not disappoint. The area is so so but the restaurant is pleasant to walk in. Is old but dimsum is great. About $9.00 per 4 piece.
