JAK'S Beer Wine Spirits

Asking for tips at a retail business is bit too much. Wish they would just have jar for people who actually want to tip.

Great store with good selection of beer and wine and hard liquor.
Store timings are also great.

I visited this store once. On one hand, they had a much better selection of the item I was looking for, compared to the BC Liquor Store nearby. On the other hand, the card payment terminal had an option to add a tip. It made me very uncomfortable to leave no tip. Was it just my imagination, or did the cashier eye me with contempt as I made that selection? I've read the store's response to another reviewer, saying that customers should not feel obligated to tip. In my opinion, there should be a large notice to that effect, affixed to each card payment terminal. For example: "We don't expect you to tip. Most customers don't. But if you want to, go ahead. We value your patronage no matter what. "

I like how they have both packs and samplers of each beer on the wall across it. Would definintely be a regular just for the selection alone. Can't complain for 19$-23$ a 4-pack (including liquor tax) of specialty beers. A bit bougie, yes, but I like splurging for the occasion AND the quality.

Staff is nice though sometimes they stare at you like you're gonna steal something lol For the most part great service, plenty of options for even the pickiest drinker but yes I agree with a lot of ppl here, the prices are often like 30% more than at the BC Liquor Store which is like half a km down the road. One thing that I particularly don't appreciate about this place is the tip jar for each member of the staff. Restaurants or coffee shops, at least they are doing something on the spot for you but the cashiers are just standing there ringing in your drinks so the tip is sort of unnecessary. I understand if they make minimum wage but then the owner should pay them better. I started seeing this trend in these private liquor shops and in all honesty it's creating a tip expectation culture where there was none before.

Manager that works there is an absolute clown my sister who is in her 30s showed him her ID and he denied her cause I was behind her in line with alcohol but forgot my ID so I said okay just get yours and went to leave he would not sell to her told her it was the law.she clearly has a legal ID and was purchasing her own alcohol I even tried to show ID on my phone just so she could buy hers and he still wouldn't. I get the part for Me who forgot ID but when your refusing to sell to an adult with ID.

Great rotating selection of craft beers and friendly staff. Has become my new favourite store to indulge my crafty tastes.

Always open late, the staff are positive, helpful, and always make you feel welcome. Maybe a tiny bit more expensive than BCL but more than makes up for it with great selection, layout, and convenience.

I went in to buy vodka as I am making homemade vanilla to gift to my sister in law who is an excellent cook. I ended up having an inspiring conversation with a staff member who infuses her own gifts too. Was very buoyed by her enthusiasm and knowledge as this is my first time trying this.

Great place to find new and unique beer/wine/cider/spirits. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, dog friendly and will even add a Pic of your pup to their wall of fame near their cash registers.

I highly suggest visiting this small but absolute gem of a liquor store.

Either ID everyone or train your employees on age identification, I don’t look that young (37). Honestly I felt a lil persecuted, I dunno if it was discrimination but I did notice they didn’t ID the white man in front of me in line.

Good prices and variety of brands. The associates are kind and helpful. I like spent some time looking for new brewers and why not some discounts.)

No words can describe the level of fine service as well as quality selections. It's a must go to spot for your spirits!

Almost every 4 pack is available as a single.which is great for collectors

Whenever I stop by to buy the occasional bottle the service is excellent and the cleanliness outstanding. And they are often open late and on the days the liquors store is closed for holidays making it extra convenient

This is a great liquor store. Super friendly and helpful staff, and great selection of beer, wine, cider and everything else! Easy to understand covid protocols. #1 go to liquor store for me!

More expensive then most places but lits of selection and the ID me every time which makes me feel young

I am so happy I found this place in April. The selection is awesome! It's really great to be able to grab a nice table wine, local beer and try a new gin when the occasion hits. It is always busy so other people must know it's a gem. But even if the selection wasn't top notch I would still have to say that the customer service is! Hands down the friendliest staff in a liquor store I've encountered in the tri-cities. Oh! And they are above and beyond pet friendly. My dog had his picture taken and is on the kiosks at the front. He always loves the pets and treats too. This place has me going the extra kms past several other liquor stores to pick up any supplies I need and are well worth it.

Some really great wines, spirits, and beers here. The staff are as friendly and knowledgeable as any place I've ever shopped. Absolutely my favorite place to grab a special bottle.
