I like their claypot free-range chicken rice, which costs from $12 to $17. It used to be delicious and I ate it often, but recently it’s not as good as before. The rice is tasteless, the chicken is tasteless, and even the fried vegetables are tasteless. I believe it. I will never eat there again.

CRISPY! CRISPY! CRISPY!
Definitely one of the best (if not the best) places in Richmond for clay pot rice. Crispy rice at the bottom of the pot. The way it should be.
The Free Range Chicken with Mushroom was soooo good. It took 20mins for them to make it. But it was well worth the wait.
All the items were in English. Unlike some of the other food courts in Richmond, where they’re all in Chinese. Makes ordering so much easier.
Will be back to try their other dishes,

好味！连小朋友也喜欢！新鲜做出来，值得等那十几分钟 great food and generous portion! Worthy waiting while it being freshly made! Yum Even kids loved them

Best clay pot rice

Hidden gem! The rice here is soo good and authentic. Unlike other places I tried this place has a ton of crispy rice on the bottom of the pot. My kids that aren't really into clay pot rice had a whole pot themselves.

Solid fundamental clay pot rice, the rice crisp taste just right, however, nothing really stand out, kind of taste plain like home cooking tbh. Give it a go if you really like clay pot rice or wanna try clay pot rice, but otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to get this.

With the small renovation going on in our kitchen at home, we came to the Empire Centre for lunch. Was recommended to try the claypot rice at James Snack. We ordered the one with meat loaf and octopus. It was tasty. The rice tasted good, not too salty with the right amount of crispness at the bottom. Will return and try other varieties.

I always order the egg with minced beef on rice same as the user: leohippochin. However, it’s still my favourite all these years. I don’t think he understands that claypot rice is suppose to be hard at the bottom. This is a hidden gem alert for sure.
