James Street Game Room

Went in there about a few times. The ladies that work there were great. Just had to pay once we were finished. But we went in on Tuesday night and was greeted differently. The man that was working demanded we paid for our pool time up front. Been to multiple pool halls throughout bc and never have had to pay until we’re done. The issue with this is everyone else that came in didn’t have to pay up front. We were mid game and they shut the lights out and insisted we pay for another hour. Again no one else had to do this besides us. I really don’t like to say this, but felt like we were getting treated differently Or maybe he just didn’t like us because we weren’t local. He also mentioned if we were locals we wouldn’t get treated like that

I went to go play pool with some of my girlfriends. Two other tables came in after us and then another 10 minutes later. One of the guys from that table brought in a drink from outside of the bar which resulted in all 4 tables getting kicked out just because we simply knew the person that brought in the drink. The tables were not intermingling and did not participate in the person bringing a drink in. The lady who wears glasses that works there was yelling at all of us threatening to call the cops meanwhile having a cigarette dangling out of her mouth behind the bar where food and drinks are served, not at all food safe. The disrespect of that night has made me not want to go back. Horrible “service” if you can even call it that. As apparently the owner does not like to properly read reviews, I would like to reiterate that the tables DID NOT COME IN AS A GROUP AND WERE NOT SOCIALIZING, and should not be treated as such just because we all knew each other from highschool. I would also like to reiterate that the tables were collecting their jackets and belongings to LEAVE when the horrible server threatened to call the cops.

Very open and friendly environment ; played some 8ball and air hockey with my son, very reasonable prices for the tables and for soft drinks.

I just really enjoy playing pool here. It's a good game room and has a few other things to do other than pool like table tennis. Lots of room here, so good for a crowd.

Love the staff but the practice of 86ing people while still taking there money is criminal. Stafff serving drinks to friends charged to regular patrons? I return.

I walked in at 8pm I was told cover charge would not begin until 10pm. Cover charge started instead at 9pm.
When I walked in I was told 10 pm and that all patrons would be evacuated and then forced to pay a cover charge at 10 pm to re-enter. Instead cover charge started at 9pm. I was standing outside on the patio smoking a cigarette and then was not only further denied entry but I was threatened with rcmp at force to leave the premises despite my absolute compliance.

Awesome place. Plenty of tables, great value and they do student discounts. 10/10 would recommend.

Good staff refreshments and liquor pool music via jukebox table tennis. Tables are looked after and offer a good challenge. I don't have any negative comments really good place to chill with a friend or loved-one.
