We had booked a bear watching tour at Jamie’s Whaling Station, which unfortunately was canceled due to the stormy weather.

We had a wonderful experience. The guide and the boat drivers where same. She was amazing. She found 3 bears for us, a whale and sea lions and much more. The sea was calm. This was awesome experience.

Went out twice with Captain Willow, it was an absolute amazing experience both times. The safety briefing helped to make us feel safe and looked after. Willow was exceptionally knowledgeable and kept us informed the whole time. We got to see, seals, sealions, sea otters, a black Bear and a whale. Well worth booking for a trip if you're interested in costal ecology. Highly recommended.

Went with Jamie’s on our holiday and it was incredible! Willow our tour guide was super knowledgable, very friendly and made everyone feel very comfortable. We saw an Eagle, a Bear, Sea Lions, Seals, Dolphins and Whales! Would thoroughly recommend Jamie’s and the team, brilliant!

A miserable experience!

We went on a zodiac tour and it was an absolutely miserable experience for both of us.
The weather was really bad, and the tour should not have been operated in these conditions.

The combination of pouring rain, wind, and cruising at high speed resulted in water painfully splashing at our faces whenever we looked up. We ended up keeping our head down, staring at the floor, for most of the trip.

The provided suits and rain jacket did not achieve their goal. We were soaking wet and freezing.

While the guide was kind to tell interesting facts about bears, she was talking very quietly and sitting at the front row we couldn't hear a single word.

This felt like a 3 hour torture, much less getting our money's worth.

We tried complaining by email, and they didn't even bother to respond.

We had a fabulous afternoon on the zodiac bear trip. Our guide, Abbie, was a delight so warm, kind, funny and knowledgeable. The animals surpassed all our expectations thankyou!

Had a great time aside from getting sea sick! Haha I had a motion sickness patch on but the motion of the ocean was just too powerful for me! We saw Harbour Porpoises, Sea Lions, a Sea Otter and the tail fin of a Humpback Whale. Nature does not always cooperate so unfortunately we didn't see any breeches or good long shots but it was fun nonetheless and something I've never done before. Our Skipper was super informative and shared lots of educational information with us!

We took a kayaking tour from this location and enjoyed it very much. The equipment was good quality and Emma our guide was top notch.

We really enjoyed Jamie’s Whale watching tour. It was great service. Special thanks to captain and biologist in the board. It was interesting to learn some facts about nature and get insights. We were lucky to see whale and beautiful places and species on the route.

Did the small cruiser tour with Willow was an awesome skipper/ guide! Saw a couple humpbacks and lots of grey whales. Definitely would book with Jamie's again, next time would like to try the zodiac boat tour

Great experience! They knew that orcas were coming, so we left a little earlier to see them. We saw orc moms with their baby! I'm seasick, so I took medication and everything went well despite the big waves in the ocean.

Super expérience! Ils savaient que des orques arrivaient, donc nous sommes partis un peu plus tôt pour les voir. Nous avons vu des mamans orques avec leur bébé! J’ai le mal de mer, donc j’ai pris des médicaments et tout s’est bien passé malgré les grosses vagues dans l’océan.

Very fun trip to see the Humpback Whales. Our boat captain and guide was amazing and I highly recommend booking one of the many tours they offer.

Did the ‘bear tour’ and though the staff were great, perhaps it could have been more comfortable. Benches meant to sit 3 but I only manage one bum cheek on. Essentially it was a bit cramped with a full boat. Viewing was good although there were some issues with windows which were a bit warped making opening and closing them slightly problematic. No PA system on board meant the poor guide struggled to get any message across to the guests unless she walked up and down the aisle repeating her message. Having said that, we did manage to see a bear. Apparently only 2 boats in 12 today managed sightings. Perhaps going earlier in the season might decrease your chances of being disappointed.

Had a fantastic time bear watching this morning. I wish we caught the name of our guide to recommend her because she has a sharp eye for wildlife and very knowledgeable. Overall great experience and would highly recommend!

I had an amazing bear watching experience! I received a friendly welcome at check in with lots of help which, as I am a digital dinosaur, was greatly appreciated. As a senior I was nervous about a zodiac boat ride but the excellent orientation by Yarrow, comfortable seats and cozy floater suits soon dispelled any anxiety. We all had incredible opportunities for bear viewing at two different locations. The bears were beautiful and powerful as they rolled big rocks to munch on sea creatures they uncovered. Eagles, sea lions, harbour seals, a dowitcher, surf scoters, kingfishers, cormorants and even a rainbow were some of the many incidental sightings on out trip. Yarrow and Josie shared interesting knowledge about sea bear and the other critters we encountered or asked about. Despite the wind and chop picking up significantly Yarrow ensured we had a very comfortable journey.

We saw multiple Gray Whales. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Our skipper was very knowledgeable and loved answering questions. High recommend!

The website says 2pm -5pm, when I emailed to question this, as we were back docked by 4.39pm. I was told they will update the website to say 2 and a half - 3 hours.
Also 2 local people came with us, we paid over $120 +tax, and they paid $3, a bit unfair if you ask me. When I asked this question, my reply was they can charge upto 80% off for locals.

we had an awesome trip to see whales at Campbell river instead.

The boat is nice, and the crew is nice, but couldn't see anything worth the charge. I do not recommend this for people with visual difficulties.

We went to Ucluelet and it was awesome. Had a great time with the crew! They were super informative and were awesome at spotting all the wildlife. Highly recommend them!

Experience was fantastic. Crew were very positive and took the time to tell you about the area. We had the privilege of seeing a grey whale breach, a couple of sea otters and a seal. The captain was great and made sure that he kept positioning the boat so we could all see the whales. And, he had the best Dad jokes. Hahaha. Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon and experience for myself, my husband, my brother in law and his wife. Highly recommend this family run business.

This was a very nice trip out in the local waters!
in particular, there was this moment when she (the Humpback) was coming to surface and directly towards the zodiac.only 50 meters from us. Then, very calmly and slowly motors, our skipper set the engine reverse, and turned byside. We just let her continue her road.
Man, this was something! Very spécial moment in life for me and i'll keep it deeply in my Heart. Thank you very much Mister Skipper!

I will admit I was apprehensive of whale watching tours, but after reading about Jamie’s Whaling’s contributions to research and respect for sea life we decided to go. We had an incredible time with our guide Chris, who was extremely knowledgeable about the area, great boat driver, and a great spotter! I learned way more than I thought I would and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Thank you so much!

Approx 3 hour boating experience. We spotted one mama and bear cub. Got to observe them for about 3-4 minutes and then spent the rest of the time trying to find more bears. This is apparently not a popular time to see them but we got lucky - weather was not on our side.

Call ahead and ask the company how many bear sightings there have been that week before booking to gauge the likelihood you'll see one.

The staff really is friendly and does their best but a rain check for when you don’t see bears is a bit of a bummer. I mean they guarantee it but I can imagine it’s not really in their hands.

Anyway I’m not even sure if I can use that rain check anyway… I live 10h flight and a 5h drive from there. Wish they’d give me another solution.

Great day out! We booked that morning and went out at 2pm. The tour guide was really knowledgeable, had loads to tell us and loved questions. We saw way more wildlife than just whales which was cool and learned loads about them! Only thing that I wish I did differently was wrap up better! Next time will wear a scarf for sure. Thank you!

It was a great experience! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Learned a lot about wildlife around Ucluelet from him. Not only whale but also we saw sea lions, sea otter, and eagles too!
Make sure you wear warm enough.

We went on a whale watching tour out of Tofino in early September 2021.
We ended up seeing around a dozen whales (mostly grey whales and a couple hump backs), a wolf and a couple otters.
The staff were very friendly and informative.

Great experience to discover not only whales but also all other sorts of animals and seaweeds etc.thanks. Even saw 3 tail-breaches by the humpback whales.

Camilo was brilliant (good eye candy too!) …he had superb knowledge of the bears and where to find them. Thoroughly recommend.

Jamie's were amazing as always. This was our third time going on a tour and it was an incredible experience. They also helped rebook us at no extra cost after we showed up to the wrong location and missed our original tour.

Did the nighttime bioluminescence kayak tour and it was strikingly beautiful and unforgettable. Ryan was a wonderful tour guide. Highly recommend.

We had an awesome afternoon of bear watching - 8 bears (2 moms, 4 cubs, a juvenile female and a 10 year old male) - all in different areas. Sydney, our skipper, was knowledgeable and super easy-going. We had a fabulous time and appreciate Jamie's Whaling commitment to research and conservation.

The educational guides were fantastic, super knowledgeable and answered all my quetions + shared interesting stories and were kind to everyone on the boat.

Boat driver was gentle for the few people who got sea sick, and very quick to get us to the whales.

The whale watching was not the most successfull but that is about luck. The boat was beautifull and confortable. Not crowded with too many people. The staff made us laught and gave a lot of intesting informations about whales, boating and what to do when you feel sea sick. Securuty was very respected. All was well organised. They leave sharp on time and come back 3hrs later sharp on time. It was a fun experience!

We had such a great experience on this tour! Our guide, Sydney was very knowledgable and personable. As a researcher herself, she was able to provide tons of info on the wildlife we encountered. We were lucky to see some sea otters, 2 species of sea lions and even 2 grey whales! It was very surreal. The tour started and ended on time and being on the boat was lots of fun. It is very cold on the water so dress warmly and a hat is a must. The suits provided provide some warmth as well but they are mostly for emergency flotation. Great value for the money! Would definitely recommend Jamie's!

Was incredible, guide Dylan showed us grey whales sea lions and a sea otter.weather was fantastic. Warm clothing kept us toasty Nd hit chocolate heavenly at the end.
