Jamjar Canteen North Vancouver

Fast Lebanese food! Really delicious, reasonably priced and served quickly. They do have seating, but not loads and there’s a lot of footfall in and out of the store.

Good vegan options - we had the vegan sampler between two and it was tasty and fulfilling.

First time trying Lebanese food and it was amazing experience. Really good and tasty food, quick service and helpful staff. Falafel and Shawarma are highly recommended ones.

If you're looking for a mom and pop type, authentic Lebanese food, this is the spot. The wraps and bowls are amazingly good best falafels in North van maybe even in Vancouver

This used to be a go-to spot for takeout for me. Not sure if the ownership has changed in the past year or so, but the food is completely different. Rice is not the same, chicken is dry and the dips are different. Food also came out lukewarm. A real shame because this place used to be delicious with excellent value for money.

This place is really good! The staff are friendly, the restaurant is cute, the food is fresh and flavourful. The toum was garlicky and spicy just how I like it. Can’t wait to come back.

I had the Chicken Shawarma bowl and Halloumi Fries. That pomegranate sauce is killer.

The food is really great BUT the last 2 times I’ve been there, the pickles had gone bad! I love the beet and regular pickles they have, but twice in a row now I’ve been there and they tasted like they were rotten. Please taste your pickles occasionally and toss them if they’re bad and I’ll change this review.

This has been one of the best lebanese dining experiences I've had in a long time! Their service was impeccable. I ordered the vegan bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were so rich and complex, and the ingredients were obviously fresh and high-quality.

The dish was a perfect balance of healthy and indulgent, and it was clear that a lot of care and attention went into its preparation. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant had so many vegan options available.

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fantastic Lebanese food. The vegan bowl is a must-try, but I'm sure all of the other dishes are just as delicious!

I have eaten at the commercial drive location and it was fabulous. I had a 1 pm meeting at Lonsdale quay and decided to try this location. Drove to Shipyards and parked ($10 for 2 hr). Went up to JamJar at 11: 50 doors were locked (they open at 11: 30). Guy came to door and said they were not ready amd had no food and it would be another 40min. It was raining and I didn't feel like waiting outside. I was so disappointed. This was on a Friday. Went to the Quay instead and ate at Cilantro and Jalapeño instead.incredible fresh Mexican. So it wasn't a total loss.

Ordered the vegan platter and it was really good. You get to try a little bit of everything and the portion size is quite generous. My only complaint is that we asked to eat in and instead of giving us our food on a plate, they packed it up in to-go boxes. It was a lot of unnecessary waste when we had originally asked to sit in the restaurant.

Creamy hummus and crunchy falafel. Vegan, gf, freshly made and delicious. Slam dunk.

It's a nice quick dinner/lunch spot. We usually order their bowls and the flavours are good. The coliflower is algo tasty.
Food is good but not amazing but the space is nice for a quick meal.

This location of Jamjar is consistently awesome. I have an annoying amount of dietary restrictions (gluten-free, dairy-free, Paleo, etc) and feel very safe eating here. I enjoy the deep fried cauliflower, and lamb sausage bowl. Restaurant can get pretty busy during peak times, but I always use their online ordering app and rarely have to wait. Healthy delicious and great customer service.highly recommend!

Ordered an assortment of vegan dishes for takeout. Staff was very friendly, quick and easy. The food was incredible! The falafel and homemade hummus was fantastic. Prices weren't too bad either, especially considering how much food there was! Leftovers gladly

Unreal food! We got take out and it was packaged perfectly to be able to enjoy at home and even stayed warm! Plenty of food for left overs. Easy online ordering platform. Highly recommend!

Ordered: Vegan Dinner for two, added sides of halloumi fries, feta, pita, and tabbouli salad.

Had a tastebud explosion experience last night at JamJar Canteen Lebanese restaurant in the shipyards in N Van.
They had a special "feast night" event with small plates of so many amazing dishes. This is unlimited so you can order extras of the ones you enjoy.
When you walk in there is an area where you can buy Lebanese groceries like Tahini, Baklava, Pomegranate Molasses etc.
They had a live cooking station at the front where we got our first three dishes at the Chickpea Bar with Balila, Foul and Fettah.
My friend and I each got a glass of the Pinot Gris to go with our food
Elizabeth our waitress was so sweet, polite and extremely helpful.
She brought us out a few dishes to start, Tabbouli Salad, Hummus with Almonds, Beet Salad.
The hummus was sooooo smooth and seriously the best hummus I have ever had. The Tabbouli Salad was so bright and fresh. But the Beet salad with pistachios, tahini, arugula and za'atar was absolutely mind blowing! I like beets but this was outstanding! I believe there was even a beet hummus in the center. We ordered a second plate it was so good!
Elizabeth brought us the Green Pea Fritters in an amazing feta, ricotta mint and za'atar topping that was so different but once again fantastic so we ordered a second one. Next was the Arayes Kafta, pita stuffed with the most delicate and tender lamb and beef with spices. Super juicy and the juices soaked into the pita that was just one of the best things I have ever eaten!
We were getting full so we wanted to try the rest of the dishes to come, that's right MORE food yet to come, lol. The Chicken Shawarma arrived with a side of either a taziki or the toum (garlic dip) so tender. A lovely small plate of Fried Cauliflower in Pomegranate molasses arrives, one of my favorite dishes. The slightly sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses was just the perfect amount on the deep fried cauliflower. It has you craving for more which is to me the perfect sign of a dish that's well balanced. Now the last of the mains was Chicken Livers sauteed with onions pomegranate, seven spice and toum sauce. I tried it even though I'm not a fan of liver. If you like liver than you will absolutely love this dish.
Elizabeth brought us out a dish that was not on the menu of a roasted eggplant that was topped with fresh tomatoes and something that looked like a finely chopped green pepper, nom nom nom!
We were so full but the flavours were just amazing we wanted more but we still had the dessert! We popped back up to the live cooking station for Lebanese crepes and you could choose your toppings of halva, baklava, cardamom sauce, chocolate sauce, pistachios or pomegranate and strawberries. The crepes were so tender and delicious. I went with the pomegranate and strawberries topped with baklava and a little bit of the cardamom drizzle sauce.
This was by far one of the BEST dinning experience I have had especially with all the flavours.

The food is always delicious. Friendly staff and excellent service. Best falafel ever! You gotta try it. I don’t get it people leaving one star reviews when the restaurant did the right thing and called the customer to let them know about cross contamination. It sounds more like it was Uber eats fault.

Disappointed that it doesnt have the same menu as Jam Jar commercial drive. The meal size was also not fulfilling.

I had heard good things about Jam Jar so decided to finally give the North Van one a try. I ordered the chicken and the falafel. Both were OK, but nothing special. I personally prefer the hole in the wall falafel/Shawarma places on Denman Street. They are just as authentic/tasty/fresh, for 1/2 the price. Will I go back again? Only if someone else is buying.

I ate at Jamjar this afternoon and I was really disappointed. I didn't enjoyed the food I ordered. It tasted as if it was leftovers from the day before, not fresh or recently cooked. I ordered the vegan plater which I couldn't finish and to make it worst there was a piece of blue plastic in the food. No idea where it came from but I lost my appetite after this. I have been to the location at Commercial and it was so good. I had good expectations but ended up very sad to choose coming here: (

I eat lunch here at least once a week. I've eaten basically everything on the menu, and I keep going back for more. Mo and his team are always super friendly, and the food is always great.

Jamjar is my go-to in the Lonsdale quay area and I always order the chicken bowl. The chicken’s cooked to perfection!

I think it’s my new favourite place to eat. The food is nicely plated, healthy and delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And the Shipyards location is great as it offers plenty of parking, beautiful walk after the meal and lots of seating both inside and outside. Great place for families as children can safely run around while parents enjoy good quality meal. Love it!

Flavourful Lebanese fare with excellent portions, variety and service. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free choices. I especially love the variety in the dinner for two and sampler platter. Also fantastic catering.

Delicious! I am very impressed with the quality of the food I was served at The Jamjar Canteen. The owner made and served us our wrap sandwiches on the two visits I made there. He puts such care into the wraps we were served and it is obvious in the presentation, taste and portions provided. He demonstrates that he wants to ensure that he puts his valued customers first by being a perfect host and providing them with tasty high quality food. He serves you and you may think he won’t remember you but you would be wrong. After our first visit we were eager to go back. You can imagine how surprised we were when we walked through the door and he greeted us with “Hello. Welcome back it is nice to see you again”. What a pleasant surprise! Don’t get fooled as this is not fast food and definitely not fast food quality so expect to be wowed! I have had the Chicken Tawouk which is yogurt marinated chicken thigh, oregano, garlic and lemon. I chose to get this served as a wrap but there are other options. This yummy prepared chicken is placed in the pita along with original humus, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and cucumber. The other menu choice I enjoyed was the Beef Hushwie, which has beef, onions and pine nuts in a pita wrap, in addition it also has the original humus, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and cucumber. If your going to The Ship Yard, The Jamjar Canteen is another destination to add to your must do and favourites list. Either enjoy your meal inside the Canteen or take it with you to enjoy it outside down by the water. There are lots of other menu options so try out The Jamjar Canteen as you won’t be disappointed!

I love this place - one of the best lunch spots in North Vancouver. Mo was such a gem - thank you for the delicious Lebanese! All smiles at Jam Jar!

Good food, we liked it. 26.25 before tax and tip for 2 wraps. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. This place would be elevated if they decided to bake their own pita/wraps - the generic pita everybody knows really has a negative impact on the whole composition IMHO

First time checking this place out and what a pleasant experience! This gem is soo worth 5 stars and frequent visits back. Here's one place that are absolutely doing things right, from the hospitality from their manager Mo, to the fresh and vibrant menu items and their modern and very clean space. Places like this seem more and more rare to come by where the quality of food and service are just so on point. It was the perfect lunch getaway. Mo helped us choose our items and there were still so much leftover for dinner. The flavors were soooo good and it feels like you're making a healthier lunch choice as you don't leave feeling super full and bloated. Loveeeddd it and would highly recommend.

Tried this place first time this weekend, same as Lebanese cuisine, was very much impressed with quality of food and unique taste. Also the personal was extra nice even though they were super busy.

I happened by this place when I was googling for a place to eat by Lonsdale and this place came up. They have a great selection of fresh food items at really reasonable prices. I'd recommend the Makanek and Falafel. Super delicious! Definitely coming back again!

Holy! This food blew us away. We could not stop raving about the flavours in-between bites. I ordered the chicken tawouk bowl and my boyfriend ordered the makanik (beef dish). So excited to have this place in the heart of North Van!

I've been to the branch on Commercial a few times and always enjoy it. I would like to see somewhat larger servings for the price, but I get that rent is expensive in this location. Still a few rough edges here, but I'm sure they'll get there. It was a good meal.

It awful food that after eating I had a huge stomach pain. For this couple steam broccoli that cost them 0.55 cents they charging &$9.00 dollars. When I purchase this young woman on the front of the counter she suggested and said its not spicy neither sour however that broccoli has so sour taste that it was very hard to swallow. For the $9.00 dollars couple sour pieces of broccoli it is the crime how people can make money based on your expense and still even you are diabetic and have an urgency for meal, you cannot eat this at all.

Good luck people - I don't wish you anything bad but you need strict inspection control ; WHAT YOU ARE SELLING TO INNOCENT CUSTOMER.

Lebanese comfort food, great falafels where you can feel the cilantro. Nice place for a quick bite, it is a bit do it yourself (puring the water, cleaning up). Staff is very helpful and checks on you during a meal if everything is fine.

We ordered take out, and everything was delicious. However, we did feel the portions were a bit small- our order of falafel was 3 falafel for $8.50. Also we wish the sampler came with pita bread as there were so many delicious dips to dip it in. All in all, the food was very good, we just wanted more of it!

Great food, great service! A little bit more casual than their other locations. The bowls are incredible and quite healthy. The Makali is to die for!

Fresh natural ingredients, wonderful flavour, Jamjar provides real nutritional value in all the creative mezze. I enjoyed the food, thank you.
