Best food evar! Back for a late lunch and got totally stuffed on super yummy food. Still made room for a decadent chocolate dessert!

Delicious food, absolutely amazing service from laura great location and SO MANY GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! I got to try so many new gluten free things and i will be coming back to try the rest! So sad that they are selling this is my new favorite restaurants and every celiac person should try this place.

Called at 5: 59 to ask if we needed a reservation, they told us no. Drove an hour and got there at 7, only to be told the kitchen closed early. Usually we enjoy going to Jan’s and it’s a special trip for us out there to get a good gluten free meal, but we were very disappointed with this experience.

The fish and chips were very tasty. Fish super crispy in a light gluten free batter, we had both Halibut and Cod. Definitely will return next time we are in White Rock.

My friend and I brought our children to Jan’s because I am celiac. I have eaten here before with my children and my husband and had a great time. This last time was awful. I have to say I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. Our server was awful. She made many passive aggressive comments to us about our smaller children. It was the worst way to end a great day.
I mentioned to the server I was celiac as we were ordering she went yea yea yea. Rolled her eyes when I asked if something was safe and made me feel like I was silly for asking.
We ended up asking for crayons and paper because the kids were antsy, they quieted down right away once they got them.
The serve went to the table next to us and went would you like to sit outside because of the *signals to our table*
That table went no it’s ok.
Then asks again and that table moves outside. The served closed the door and then proceeds to point to us (not discreetly) and I can only assume say something about how unruley our children were. They weren’t.they stayed at the table but they are all aged 1-6 so we’re talking. So kids.
It was a Wednesday so wine was half off, my friend and I split a bottle. The server as I was paying was said oh he’s quiet a handful (referring to the baby) who was silent once he got his food and said I would need to drink too to deal with that. It was I guess suppose to be a joke but it was very insulting. She didn’t come check on us and we did have to wait a long time to just pay our bill.
It was very uncomfortable. There were more comments but those are the ones that stuck with me.
Our servers name was Melissa. It was honestly the worst service I’ve ever had.
We just wanted to have a nice dinner with our children. 2 moms doing their best and we both came out feeling like absolute garbage
Food was good.

The food and presentation was excellent as well as the service. Especially for the gluten free it is a must go. I will be back again.

Ordered a chicken and brie burger with fries. I opened the sandwich and the chicken breast was cut in half horizontally (half a breast) and the fries were hot and stale, leading me to think they put old fries back in the fryer to heat them. Would not recommend, especially for price.

Amazing! 10/10. Gluten free is everything here. My wife missed having fish and chips and we were told of this one of a kind restaurant. Now she’s able to enjoy the fish and chips with no upset tummy. Jan we thank you for being one of a kind. Your servers are so sweet. Thank you so much!

Such a pleasant experience at Jan's. Delicious, fresh food and had the service was exceptional! This family business was cozy and welcoming, with everything including the mayo and ice cream made from scratch! Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Jan who makes everything herself! Will definitely be back for more.

I was really disappointed the last time I was there. This is usually a go to for me as I’m celiac and this is a safe spot for me to eat.
Unfortunately, I was there on Wednesday and ordered the pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries and my partner ordered the fish and chips and 2 beers. His beers were flat, there were 3 long hairs in my sandwich, the pulled pork was extremely dry and cold, I received regular fries, and the fries were soggy and cold. Obviously, mistakes can happen but it was myself and my partner and 1 other couple in there. I didn’t want to inconvenience them so I kept quiet but I was also charged extra for the garlic fries I did not receive (I didn’t notice until after). It was not worth anywhere near the $80 I paid and I’m hoping these issues can be fixed so I can enjoy a meal there again.

Had a horrible celiac reaction after eating here after confirming with staff if they can accommodate gluten and dairy allergies. Staff on phone was confident and said they have options safe for celiac. I was horribly glutened immediately after eating our takeout. Please don't advertise gluten free when you clearly can't deliver. Will never eat here again.

We had the onion rings with the chipotle dip and the prawn skewers with the dip that came with it.
And we were there Sept 4th.

The food was quite good.

We went for a late afternoon appie and a drink. I got the calamari and my wife the warm beet salad.
She liked the salad. My calamari was a little tough and oily, but not too bad. I have had worse.

The service was reasonable, not outstanding, especially if you take into account that there were only 3 tables with customers.

We felt the food was a bit expensive for what it was.
