I recently imported a Toyota Crown through Ivan, and was very impressed with the service. Upon paying the service fee, I got an email with the login for the auction portal, as well as a detailed guide explaining how auction sheets work and what information they convey. For the cars that I liked, he sent a translation of the auction sheet in under 24 hours. He also helped with the bidding process, and in just a week, I'd won my car at auction in Japan.

From there, he handled all the logistics to get the car on a boat and towards Canada. Once it arrived, he set me up with a customs broker who handled the importation paperwork and duties, as well as transportation to get the car to Ontario. The total process took roughly 3 months in my case.

Throughout the process, Ivan has been very communicative and fast with responses. He clearly has a lot of experience, and gives great advice on what to look for and what to avoid. I highly recommend importing a car through JDM Import Ltd, and would definitely do it again given the chance!

PS. Advice for prospective clients - always take Ivan's advice on shipping options. The shipping company Ivan referred me to was able to complete the Vancouver to Ontario trip in 4 days.

I do not recommend purchasing a JDM vehicle. Parts are so difficult to source out and all codes in Japanese only. I was stranded hundreds of kilometers from any JDM service shop. Local shops near my break down could not read the Japanese codes on their computers. Tow bill was $1000 to a JDM shop.

Amazing customer service. Staff were kind, patient, and had a lot of integrity. They have some really interesting cars in stock.

Extremely helpful with all my questions. Great selection of cars. I left with a 1998 Hilux Surf, and i am in love with it. Runs great and looks exactly the way it did in the ad. Ivan was knowledgeable and not a high pressure sales person. He allowed us to take our time to view and drive the vehicle.

He also went the extra little bit, and changed wiper blades and put on some newer tires for me. Great place to buy your JDM.

Purchased a Delica last week and we are so happy with it. Ivan has gone through great lengths to get the car in the best possible shape for us and even found a weakness with the alternator doing the final check when we were about to pick it up. Had a very good experience purchasing my car from Ivan at JDM Imports. I "accidentally" purchased the car on the Bring A Trailer website, and then realized - "Wow. This car is in Canada and I'm buying it sight unseen and I need to import it to the US! " Ivan was very helpful with the process, and the car was as described. Purchased our Toyota Hiace from JDM Import in April 2018 and Ivan was a pleasure to deal with. He worked with us to ensure that all routine maintenance was completed with our purchase (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, fluids, tires, etc.) prior to our 18,000km road trip throughout the U. S, BC and AB, which we just completed without a single issue.

We took the van over countless steep and windy mountain passes, up forest service roads, through Death Valley when it was approaching 50 degrees celsius, and much more. The van just kept chugging along without the slightest hint of hesitation. It still looks and runs like new. Just an amazing van and great business to deal with. Would highly recommend.
