I stopped in last week with a Toyota Corolla loner car from a body shop. I could not program my iPhone into the CarPlay. Summary: Don't use this dealer to get quotes for online car builds from Toyota website.

Context: I built my own car using Toyota's Build Your Own feature. Then I selected this dealer to get a quote for the vehicle I built. The online build includes all the car specifications down to the details like accessories and financing. The next day I got an email from Millie T. (Internet Sales Specialist) asking for 3 questions;

1. How am I going to pay?
I already specified this on the online build and it is irrelevant since you haven't even told me what your price is yet.
2. What features are important to me?
I already selected every detail on the online build. Why are you wasting my time here? Moreover, why are you interested in this? I don't want to be persuaded into another option in the car. I have already selected all the details, haven't I?
3. Have I tested the car?
How is this relevant for getting a quote for a car? Maybe I'm going to buy the car without even seeing it. Maybe I would like to test it depending on it's availability. Why would I bother testing it if you are going to give me a price higher than the MSRP or you have 1.5 years of waitlist?

The mail did not end here. Specialist asked me to book an appointment based on their available time windows to make sure the car (don't know which car) is ready and specialist is available to help.

Why?

I asked for a quote for a car that you may have or may procure. Why can't you just tell me what your price is and how long should I wait asynchronously? Considering the possibility that the price may be above MSRP or wait time may not be fitting on my schedule, why would I waste my time with this trip and this appointment?

I replied back just stating that all the details regarding the car and payment were already provided with the original request, explained my disinterest in an appointment and asked for only the price and the wait time.

No response.

That's the story of the whole interaction.

I know that the email is kind of a template and a standard operational procedure for these requests and that's kind of the problem here. Moreover not replying back to a customer asking for your product is very unprofessional and shows that you have no interest in doing business with me. Well, that's what you got.

I highly recommend Jim Pattison if you are looking for purchasing a new car. I am new in Canada so when I wanted to buy a car, I checked out some dealerships in North Vancouver “ the other companies who sell Toyota” their customer service, giving info about placing order were horrible. They gave me some nonsense info like we sold out the car that I wanted, or no guaranty for receiving your car…. So it took me 9-10 months to find the right dealership. Jim Pattison has the best sals manager@ Andrew he helped me even I got my car earlier. I am really grateful to find this dealership in Downtown. I had my vehicle serviced on a Saturday. I was told I’d be called when it was ready. I waited in the lobby for an hour and half, only to discover the service reps left. Subsequently, my car was left overnight and I had to Uber home. It was really inconsiderate and inconvenient.

Zero star for the person who answers the phone but doesn't really want to answer the phone, but there is no option for Zero, so one star by force.
I was looking for an SUV and I was having a hard time locating this dealership as I am from different Territory. I called few times and asked for a sales person, then someone transferred me to the service person. I called again, the lady answered the phone for 7 second and transferred me to an extension that has no real person in it. Then she transferred me to the manager, I left the message. I wasted my 20 minutes being thrown to all Toyota's extension when all i want to do is try to buy a car.
Jan. 30,2023, from 5: 00-5: 15 PM, whoever the receptionist was should undergo training again because she has zero customer service skills. ZERO. How can you sell cars If you can't even answer a phone call.

Went in last week early in the morning so I was the only one there. The salesperson approached looking like I was an inconvenience. I said I was in the market for a new car and asked about PHEVs/EVs and was told there was a 3-4 year wait and not taking any orders. Fair enough, but that was the end of discussion from his end. No asking me about other car options, or making other suggestions. He seemed happy to see me leave.

I got a similar curt and unfriendly response at another Toyota dealer. The same day I contacted two Hyundai dealers and the people there were very helpful, similar to my experience at Subaru. Perhaps Toyota doesn't have any training or service culture for their salespeople.

I was going to give 5 stars but after reviewing the paper work I got hit with a $495 doc fee which was supposed to be waived and a very high PPSA fee.

Went in for service, they ended up breaking off a seized bolt on my 2018, a 3 year old car, and offered to fix it for an additional cost.also not so diligent in their inspection as I knew the wipers need replacing and in the report they listed it as good

edit: tire pressure dropped to 28 psi after the visit and had to be filled up

edit 2: happy with the way they rectified things. Toni was great to work with. I'd go back to them for service and repairs

I got a 2005 siena van and took it for service to downtown location and the service reception expert Jason treated me very friendly, patiently providing information about the parts without pushing for urgent repairs and repairs that can be wait. They checked the other parts with a fair fee and I’m really happy with their service.

I’ve leased my Rav 4 from Jim Pattinson Downtown Toyota for the past 4 years. I found them to go above and beyond to make any dealings with them as smooth and easy as possible. I decided to buy my car after the lease had expired and they walked me through the process making the whole transaction stress free. "CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE" BUYER BEWARE

Longer review- worth reading if you're considering buying at this dealership under the Certified Used program.

Bought a RAV4 Hybrid in 2020 through the Certified Used Vehicle program. This program is billed as unrivaled peace of mind and years of satisfaction through guaranteed incredible quality, long-term reliability, and dependable value. With a growing family, reliability and value were our big considerations. We also opted for the highest level of additional coverage just in case (ECP Platinum). Within a month had issues starting the car. "HIGH POWER CONSUMPTION" warning screen and car engine/motor wouldn't start until after several tries.

We reported the issue in detail to the dealership and requested a service appointment. Technician told us each time they could not diagnose the issue without observing it firsthand and since it happened sporadically once every few weeks, the prospect of leaving the car until the next time - and being told we couldn't have a loaner vehicle in the interim - left us to wait and see if it got worse. It happened less if we shut off all accessories most of the time. Not exactly what you want from a certified vehicle but we didn't have many other options.

6 months later the same issue eventually stranded our family in a remote location and required a costly tow, so we insisted Toyota figure it out. Once we provided them links to multiple online forum discussions about the exact same issue the dealership determined it was our 12v battery. Despite the issue being persistent from shortly after purchase, the dealership and Toyota Canada refused to do anything beyond advise that we replace the defective battery we were sold at full cost. Toyota Canada assured us the decision of how to remedy our issue and repair obligations on purchases under the Certified Used Vehicle Program (and ECP) is totally at the discretion of the dealership. Very dissatisfied that they elected to stiff us with the full repair bill but we decided to take the loss and replace the battery.

Booked the FIRST battery change appointment and waited 3 hours in their lounge only to find out they didn't have a replacement battery on site and was told we'd have to leave the car until the following day. Again no loaner was available. Having wasted half a work day and needing to pick up our toddler, being without a car was unacceptable. They eventually decided to put a temporary battery in and I would return the following day to again try and fix the issue. The second appointment was supposed to take 30-45 mins. After waiting for almost 2 hours I enquired on the remaining wait time. The swap was already completed and the car had just been sitting for the balance of time. Good thing I checked or I could have wasted another half day in their lounge. I negotiated to at least remove the labour charges (for wasting ~6 hours of my time for a "30 min" battery swap) but in the end I was charged exactly what I was quoted for parts, labour and taxes months ago.

Would have rated 1 Star, but the coffee and internet in the lounge made working while I waited somewhat possible. Also someone came up with the temporary battery fix that allowed me to use the vehicle.

So disappointed with this dealership, who in return for premium prices for Certified Used Vehicle program and extended care package, offered a few empty apologies and very little regard for customer care or satisfaction.

Vehicle is great otherwise (love Toyotas) and hopefully now that we have paid a premium to fix an issue we paid a premium to inherit, we will get to experience some of that "unrivaled peace of mind and years of satisfaction through guaranteed incredible quality, long-term reliability, and dependable value".

Or we'll just have to pay to fix the next issue that we have to diagnose through online chat forums.

I came back after 5 years and got another Toyota Rav4. This time John Lau helped me. He was wonderful, gave me a lot of great advice and helped me pick the right vehicle and followed up diligently to ensure everything goes smoothly. I was very happy with the service.

Review is for the Service department at the Jim Pattison Toyota dealership on Broadway near Granville. I have not purchased from here.

Disappointing amount of unnecessary up-sale pressure from the customer service people. For example; rotor machining after which the mechanic recommends replacement because they were machined thin (never should have been machined according to another mechanic) ; attempting to have us replace our engine gaskets saying the oil was leaking despite the mechanic noting the oil level was full when we brought it in; unneeded oil flush recommendations; alignment was recommended, and the post-alignment report indicated that no adjustment was needed or completed; other unnecessary items over several years (we later find after asking around).

Hours are good. Service counter is friendly. Repairs seem to be done well.

No longer come here for servicing.

I was very disappointed with the service department on my last visit. I brought my 14 year-old Corolla in to Jim Pattison Toyota on Broadway to have the driver’s side mirror replaced. The whole assembly had to be replaced, not just the mirror. At the time I was assured that the labour would be 30 minutes. When I returned to pick up my vehicle the next day, I first looked at the new mirror assembly. The mirror casing had a small dent in it and the casing itself did not look shiny and new. I mentioned the dent to Paul Chan, the service advisor and he cleaned it for me but I still didn’t understand how a new assembly would have a dent in it. He offered me the old mirror assembly but he never offered me the box that the new assembly was packaged in. Then he said he would give me a 10 per cent discount on the labour and proceeded to charge me 0.7 hours for the labour minus ten per cent. I told the service advisor, Paul Chan, the same person that I had dealt with the day before, that he had told me that the labour would be half an hour. His response was that the shop’s fee charge was 0.7 hours for this particular service and that was what he had to charge me. I also mentioned that 10 per cent was not a good discount. He said ‘that was all he could do. ’ This service was a real disappointment to me because generally speaking, I have had good experiences with the service department in the past. However, I did not appreciate being quoted 30 minute service time and then being charged for 0.7 hours (42minutes). I purchased my vehicle from them 14 years ago and I am in the market for a new one. I would hesitate to purchase from them again as this experience has really soured my impression of the dealership.

I’m really disappointed with the service I had with My car I bought Toyota Prius prime 2020 since I had the car I got only one time oil change and I heard a sound in front but after I took it back they told me possible small rock in tire after that still waiting for see what will be happening the sound goes and coming back again I told took it back again they found one bolt in bottom missed and everything ok after I left the sound was still not fixed I told them I have same problem they gave me another time to find the problem they hold the car now for one week now and they told me they will make me another appointment to take my car back to be fixed all this days and one week they killed my work because after I lost my job during pandemic I’m starting to use my car for work now and I’m out of work because of this problem. I’m really breaking heart from this situation and I don’t know what I have to do? I’m thinking about three options now I want my money back or new car or discounted price with those days I lost my work for waiting.

My advice for everyone interested in putting their name on the RAV4PRIME waiting list: Find out how many people are on COMPLETE waiting list! Dealer told me I was #11 for, later I found out I was #53 on complete list, that's misleading, as they serve the clients as they put the deposit down, which makes sense. Also, mind that the $1000 Deposit Is Not Refundable (noone mentioned this as I was paying, its written in small print on the contract, every other dealership I called does fully refund the deposit that is less then $1000) Raj was very helpful (May 2021)

I had some ISSUES with my local Toyota Dealer! Phoned Jim Pattison Downtown, I was treated with Utmost Pleasantry, from the Receptionist
all the way up to the Warranty Specialist, Toni Lewis! She made me feel so Welcome & Special that I decided to Drive for 7 hours to Vancouver!
To a simple oil change & small Warranty Issue, they handled it so well, even on a Saturday! I decided I HAD to meet these people so I stayed an
extra day to meet everyone on Monday! I was not disappointed as everyone was so Happy & Genuine to meet me! Amazing how being treated with respect & sincerity instead of a burden, made a world of

Bought a Tacoma and ended up with no keys for the tailgate. Yes, that's right.they gave me incomplete keys for the truck. I learnt that when I bought a huge toolbox and the gate was locked.

I went there 2 times to have this fixed, the first was "I'm sorry, we can't do anything for you". The second was when I needed my truck AC checked out (it wasn't working, high pitch sound) and pressed to have my tailgate key issue fixed. The manager said that "Cap it" store will have it fixed for me, so I went there and they said they needed a spefic part because of a camera that's in it. Its been a year now and my time and patience have dimmed thin with this group of management. It is like it is. I will never return there. I paid $45'000 for this truck.

On Friday, November 16,2018, my husband and I visited Jim Pattison Downtown Toyota to inquire about a pre-owned car. Even though the showroom was very busy that day, Assistant Sales Manager, Brian Homenuik, gave us a good overview of the car and took the time to fully answer our questions.

Although this car was reasonably priced and in great condition, it was not exactly what we were looking for but we did find another one that we really liked except for the price.

After we did a test drive, the General Sales Manager, Andrew Fallows, invited us into his office to openly discuss ways to make the purchase work for us. In the end, we received an excellent deal.

No undue pressure was ever exerted and we were given enough time to think about this major purchase before making a final decision. We found both Brian and Andrew to be honest, trustworthy, and a real pleasure to do business with! We would give them high marks for positive attitude and professionalism, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Buying a new car can be quite stressful, except my experience at this dealership was the exact opposite. I had sent in an email enquiring about a trade-in late one (wee hours of the morning) night and was sent a response right away letting me know that someone would be reaching out to me as soon as possible. The same day I got a call from one of the sales representatives and he was extreamly helpful. I was very clear from the beginning what my budget was and what I was looking for. I appreciated very much that they listened to everything I said and made sure not to go over my budget. I went in on a Friday around 11 am and drove out with a new ride the same day. I just appreciate how well I was treated and how comfortable they made me feel. I highly recommend this dealership, in particular Manveer, Andrew and Anna.

They spent a total of 7 hours with me just going through pricing, specs, and test driving several different cars and I never once felt pressured to buy anything.

I decided on the 2019 toyota corolla hatchback xse and from signing the lease to the delivery of car it was SEEMLESS. I met with Brian to sign then 2 minutes later went to Finance and then went to insurance all while the service team prepped my car for delivery. You know what impressed me the most? Chris (the general manager of the dealership) even got his hands dirty and cleaned the car too; just expedite the process. I've never had that experience before!

This dealership truly takes care of you in every way possible and I highly recommend this team to purchase your next car from.

Brought in a RAV4 with a power steering issue. Was charged nearly $200 for an hour of inspection, nothing was fixed and nothing was diagnosed.

Keep digging your hole deeper. I arrived on premises TWICE with the issue currently ongoing. You charged me $158.93 for 1 hour of inspection. It does not take 1 hour to pull the fault codes from the computer. The only useful information I got was from the sales rep who suggested it might be an alternator issue.

Any qualified mechanic should know that when multiple electrical systems (Power Steering, Airbags, ABS, Speed Sensor) all fail at the same time, it is a central electrical issue such as the alternator (which I told you was a used repair part) and not the speed sensor.

I took my car to nearby Continental Repairs and they both diagnosed the issue (it was the alternator) and replaced the alternator for $160 labour.

My first Toyota is a Camry which I bought in 2002 and still runs like a charm. Before that I had a Toyota Crown in Far East which is equivalent to the North America's Toyota Avalon. I can speak nothing but well of Toyota cars. Recently we bought another 2 Toyota cars, Prius for my daughter and Camry Hybrid for myself, all from Jim Pattison Toyota Downtown. The agent who sold us the Prius left to work in another different industry. We then met Brian Homenik who follow up with the second car. I must say that I can only speak well of Brian who is not only friendly, courteous, and willing to accommodate our needs at his inconveniences, but also more importantly very knowledgeable in his field. I was also impressed to know that he is an internet expert although I did not make use of his expertise in this area of the car sales. Thanks Brian for your professional help.

Just got my car back from this place. They were supposed to service my car and change my battery. Original estimate was 500$ they ended up charging me 1400$ and changed whatever they felt was necessary. My car is only 4 years old and has only worked for 30000KM (has been serviced 3 times) which means all the changes they made were unnecessary. They charged me for recharging my battery and installing a new battery and once I asked them why am I being charged so much for such an easy task the customer rep said we had to try! And once I said not out of my pocket he smiled. Avoid at all cost try other toyota dealerships.

There are reasons that they deserve only one star. First, their complimentary car wash had made the exterior of my car looked dirtier than before the wash. When I got my car back, I also caught that my black rubber floor mats were missing. Upon check, they claimed that they forgot to put the rubber floor mats back (I don't know whether it was intentional or unintentional). Anyway, I got them back. Second, they claimed that they couldn't finish all jobs (replacing lights at various parts of the car) in one appointment due to parts availability. So, I had to go back for the second appointment this morning (at 9: 00 am, July 26,2018). However, I was informed that due to the amount of "carry-over" job, they would only be able to do the work this afternoon. I have been utterly disappointed. I just left and went to the other Toyota dealership nearby (starts with "R" in Vancouver) to get the job done. I don't think I will ever go to this particular Toyota dealership for any repair or service job again in the future.

P. S. The service representative I dealt with seemed lack of enthusiasm and willingness to help.

My sales person, Manish, was professional, provided excellent customer service and was very non-pressuring. We were not ready to buy when we came in initially but he did not push us to change our mind. When we came back, the whole process was as smooth as new car buying can be. When it came to finding the colour of vehicle I wanted (they did not have any in stock) he really went the extra mile to find it for me and contacted me right away, keeping me in the loop. I look forward to a long relationship with this dealership and if I trade in my Prius C in 39 months for a new model when the lease is up, Manish will be my guy.

Your service and other departments provided me with excellent service when I was down last weekend.

I live in Kamloops, BC and generally use Sun Country Toyota up here for my 2009 Toyota Corolla needs. As I was on my way to my high school renuion at about 4: 45 on Friday, I found the "battery icon light" was on on my dashboard. I called Jim Pattison's Toyota Downtown at about 5: 00 that afternoon as I surmised I had an electrical charging problem. From the first person who picked up the phone I was treated wonderfully well, even though it was close to "closing time" on a Friday afternoon.

The first person I spoke to referred me to service and they gave me an appointment on Saturday morning. I arrived about 9: 30 and was served by Adrian Chang. He indicated an AVR test would need to be done and that the alternator probably needed to be replaced. My car was taken right in, tested, and a "new to me" alternator was ordered (a new one was not in stock - as my car is an older model, I was quite content with this arrangement). Adrian kept me posted every step of the way and your service staff did an excellent job getting the part in, installed and the car washed in very good time. I was out and back on the road again by about 2: 30.

I was very impressed with your entire staff and particularly with Adrian's attention to detail. I have been a Jim Pattison's customer in the past (I believe I bought my first Camry from you folks in about 1983). I know what pride the organization takes in its' product and service and you all certainly met and exceeded my expectations in our recent dealings.

Needed to order parts, they said they would be there next day so I booked the service to go with my parts for the same day (do it all at once) when I showed up they had 1/4 of the parts, so I had to leave my car over night. They called to say it was ready and when I went at the end of the day they struggled to find my key. They said they would wash/vacuum my car.but apparently there was a miss communication and that never happened. I got $0.75 off each of my parts, and told I can come back for the wash/vacuum. Very nice staff, overall a bit disappointed and logistically was annoying.

I traded in a sports sedan for a used minivan. Photis handled my initial phone call about the vehicle, and he made me feel very comfortable from the start. On site, I dealt with sales person Eddie and sales manager Paul. They were both extremely professional and great to deal with. After short negotiations they gave me an excellent deal on the minivan with my trade-in - I really appreciated their straight to the point negotiations. Finance office was fast and efficient too. The delivery process was made super easy. The dealership even had a playroom with lots of toys, which I've never seen before. It kept my 2-year-old entertained for the couple hours we were there. The entire time I felt at ease and free from high-pressure sales tactics. From beginning to end we loved our experience with JP Toyota Downtown. Highly highly recommended.

The staff at this Toyota dealership were awesome! They helped my mom and aunt purchase a Rav 4 hybrid. The sales guy Manish was super nice and explained everything to them. He followed up with them and was super patient while we arranged the financing. The rest of the staff were friendly and not pushy as well. Super happy with the Rav 4 so far

I have leased and owned at least 15 vehicles over the last 30 years and have never met a more informed, courteous, and ethical sales staff. Andrew and Manish are as good as it gets in business. I have worked with many professionals during my 38 year career and these guys are at the top of the list. Do NOT go anywhere else to buy a Toyota. I would like to put in a good word for Toni, a member of your warranty/service team at the Broadway and Hemlock location. Toni and Rob saved me this week. Shout out for Linda as well.

I am a new Toyota Owner, I leased my vehicle last October 2017.

Having my first vehicle has been quite the discovery, as every new matter that arises with my vehicle I've met with a bit of anxiety.

I had this unfortunate disaster strike the other day, where these Aphid bugs took over my car and got inside somehow. I am not a bug person to say the least, and I was panicking about what to do about it so I called your servicing department for advice on what I could spray on the car to clean it.

Toni was very sweet, she could clearly hear over the phone that I was having "Stage 5" meltdown and panic attack and not only did she calm me down, but she had me bring the car in the very next morning, and made sure the car was cleaned up. I had called earlier that morning to ask some questions about it but whoever I spoke to that morning, was unable to answer any of my questions as she said her system was down and she would call me back.when I did not receive a call back few hours later, I called again. Toni is a "go getter" and a very compassionate employee of yours.

Your organization is very lucky to have her, and had it not been for her the last few days, I may have stressed myself right off the ledge into a heart attack as I felt very unsure of how to proceed.

Toni walked me through it all, calmed me down and assured me that you folks would take care of it; which is what she ensured the outcome to be. I purposely came back to pick up my car at a time that I knew she would be there, so that I could thank her in person.

These are the type of employees of yours that carry on your mission statements. She really does make me, the customer, feel taken care of.

KUDOS to her and the Broadway Hemlock Team! We as humans often, can be so quick to complain, but not so quick to ever compliment one another. I would like to give a great big "shout out" to her impeccable customer service skills and abilities. I did not get that sense from anyone else that I spoke to but Toni and then Linda when I met her the morning I came in to drop off my car.

They do a great job you guys keep up the good work!

Thanks again to the Broadway and Hemlock team! They are very beneficial for my wellbeing, and they certainly carry on the great service that Toyota strives to portray.
