I tried the Shredded crabmeat shrimp noodle soup at Joyeaux Café, and I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of their pho. Unlike other pho restaurants, they use vermicelli-thin noodles, which provided a different and enjoyable twist. My only wish is that the portions were a bit larger, but overall, it's a great place for a distinctive pho experience.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town, vegetarian options are so good and the staff were always so kind even when it’s crazy busy.

Spring rolls and fish n chips are entirely too greasy. I asked for tartar sauce and got a concoction of mayonnaise with relish.

Will probably never eat here again.

The food was too good to take a picture cannot believe I finish the whole bowl before I took pictures we all enjoyed our orders and the ice coffee was so delicious and sweet in a good way! The lady also helped us to take a group photo very nice and friendly

Needed a lunch spot after a morning orientation near Canada Place. Yummy! Well worth the prices and portion sizes very generous!

I came at around 1pm and it wasn't too full. The lunch rush usually comes at 12pm so if you come after that a table is almost always guaranteed.

I ordered the grilled chicken over vermicelli. They are very generous with the portion sizes and they give you lots of veggies. The chicken was flavourful and crispy. Not overly dry. My biggest issue with my dish was the noodles. They tasted a little bit like detergent/bleach (like just a hint) and so I couldn't finish the noodles. But other than that I would probably go with rice next time or try something else.

The location is close to work and their portions and prices are okay for what you get.

Simple delicious Vietnamese food at very reasonable prices. Combos are very generous. Vegetarian choices galore. Busy at lunchtimes. All day breakfast and sandwiches also available. Clean, well stocked washrooms.

I was very excited to try this restaurant and the food did not disappoint. However, there was hair in our food. The staff was apologetic and professional about it though, serving us another dish for free.

Price on menu is different from (higher) price at checkout. The man owner is fun. Not a big fan of the food though sadly: (

My second time there since pandemic. The food used to be okay but now it is totally not both times. The soup is super oily and looks like a day old soup. Quality is very inconsistent. I will not be going there again. Service was none as I asked for water twice and they just ignored me.

The food wasn’t good. The owner wasn’t polite at all when I asked for the check. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

My go-to spot for wonton soup for almost 15 years! Cosy family-run business where you feel welcomed like an old friend. This feels especially notable for a busy downtown restaurant!

Came here for breakfast with my family. All menu items are available. The beef brisket noodle soup was tasty. My family member got omelet and French toasts. The ingredients and fruits were fresh and the juice was freshly squeezed. It’s a good place to get something to eat.

This place has gone downhill unfortunately. #3 stewed beef pho used to be so good, now the broth is so bad, basic beef, flavourless, stale just really off, supposed to be tomato-based broth. Used to be the best now it's the worst.

Extra Charge when paying with card!?
The man asked me if I wanted to pay in cash or card WITHOUT telling me there was extra charge. I would have paid in cash instead.
I said no receipt, and when I asked to reprint my receipt, he said it's gone!? !?

Super friendly staff and very good, fulfilling food. Great selection of vegetarian options that can be made vegan.

Really nice and cozy spot to grab a bite when in Downtown Vancouver. Easy to access and the timing is perfect whether you want a breakfast or a dinner meal. The staff are courteous and helpful and are always ready to help with recommendations in case you are confused what to get. We had a breakfast omelette and it was perfect! Will be back for sure.

The place is so tight and food is average.
The pho soup was generous amount but bland. The omelette and hash brown with 4 tiny slices of fruits and 1 grape was disappointing.

Good place for noodle soup! Service a little slow for us at the time. Staff's charm made up for that.

I've been here multiple times over the course of the past 3 years and their services and food is outstanding. The food is fresh, the price is reasonable, I like the indoor decorations, and the staff are very nice and caring. Highly recommended. They also have lunch specials, being at the heart of downtown, they are very famous for middle of the work quick lunch plans.

When she asked if I wanted tea or water when I came in, I thought tea was complimentary as it is in other restaurants. She charged me $2 extra without telling me. I also went to eat alone and if I knew how big the portions were I wouldn’t have ordered their pho and viet sub together. The food tasted alright though that’s why it’s getting 2 stars instead of 1.

The staff is warm and welcoming! Food is served quick and fresh! The flavour is consistent and authentic. Best Vietnamese iced coffee ever!

I wish I took a photo - that was one darn good omelette. Visiting from Toronto, needed a place to get some breakfast - was thinking maybe rice porridge, but maybe wanted something grander and was very happy with my omelette - and not only was the food absolutely delicious, the owners are like super friendly and welcoming. It's such a pretty interior too - it really feels like you're being invited into some real person's place to share a meal. I kinda want to come back for lunch.we'll see.

I’m so glad I ordered the lemongrass chicken. It was so soft and tender and just what I needed for brunch. It was flavourful in all the right ways. We also ordered the beef brisket noodle soup, which was equally phenomenal. The pricing is very reasonable. Will definitely be going back to this place

I ordered vegetarian vermicelli bowl for take away. It's supposed to have fried tofu and spin rolls that's why they charge $14.50 with tax. When I got to the office, I saw hardly 1 or 2 pieces of tofu and found weird looking pork and beaf chops. When I called the owner she said they use artificial meat however that doesn't describe in the menu. I am vegetarian, I don't like to eat pork/beef. She lied to me, it's not supposed to have meat chops and no rofu. I am extremely disappointed, may not go to this restaurant in future. If you are vegetarian or vegan I wouldn't recommend this place. Even the salad was old and soggy, poor food quality.

This place is usually very full but few were there when I lunched. They'll ask for the vaccine passport go get it ready.

Excellent place to have some pho and a quick lunch. Very delicious and fast service. Absolutely want to come back here soon.

I had the meat Spring rolls. Those were probably the best ones I have ever had. Nice and cozy atmosphere. Not too many people, server was very nice.

Unfortunately, the food is more like a fast-food version of Vietnamese cuisine. I only ever see mon-Vietnamese people going in, and for those of you who are from different cultures, you know how that means that a restaurant can sometimes water down their food to please western palates. I know it's a necessary evil to stay open in Vancouver, but it was still disappointing to see.

Used to great taste, but during few regulations, the taste was little changed. (only Pho)
But I recommend wonton noodle soup.
It's really hot so carefully use ur mouth

My go to for lunch when I am in the area and when its rainy. For a downtown restaurant the prices are very reasonable and the portions are great. Their #1 is my go to with their housemade meat balls. Pandan desserts are also a plus!

Recently tried the beef strew pho and the meat was very tender!

Two dinners in a row on a cold dark Covid evening with two fussy eaters from the Century Plaza, we the only ones in there on S&S, Notwithstanding the fate of lockdown eateries in the City service was warm & generous, special pho and Singapore vermicelli Super, lots + takehome for lunch!

This place was unexpectedly great! I had the crepe which was great and my partner had the chicken vermicelli bowl. She loves it. She said it was the second best she’s ever had in her life. Favourited and will come again!

This place gets very busy at lunch time and is hard to find seating. It’s a bit quieter during dinner time. I love going here to grab a noodle bowl and the quality of their food is consistently good.

The food is good, but a little pricey for what it is and expected given the location. There may be something wrong with their ventilation system as it my clothes stank up the whole apartment when I got home.

I love this place, its right next to the office and has amazing Bun Bo Hue. Its a mix between counter-order food and sit down, depending how busy it is. The owner is a wonderful lady, she chatted with me about my grandma and all the great Vietnamese food she used to make. This is my go-to spot for afterwork soup on a rainy day.

Excellent vietnamese food, very well priced and with a wide selection. Their food is not too oily and their pho is tasty. They also have a wide range of drinks and take away items. Busy at lunch time but quiet and relaxed in the evenings.

I'm from Regina which doesn't have much to brag about, but the Vietnamese restaurants there were top-tier as far as vegetarian goes. I've had a really difficult time finding anything like it in Vancouver, but Joyeaux has come the closest so far, even (or especially) compared to places like House Special or Do Chay. Very typical Vietnamese restaurant atmosphere with a lot of seating, strange interior design choices, and staff who seem like they don't want you to be there.

Not a bad place to have some viet noodles (pho). Good portion of food. Lemongrass chicken was delicious. Fresh and authentic. Great service that delivered food fast. Must try! My family loved it!

Great bahn mi- fried spring rolls are just ok. Service is great! I experienced all smiles and was not charged extra for paying with my credit card per other reviews.

I love everything about this restaurant. The bánh xèo (viet pancake), xôi mặn (sticky rice), bún thịt nướng (grilled pork & spring rolls noodles), gỏi cuốn (Salad roll) taste the same with what I had in Saigon. Amazing food & nice owners.

Its hard to find good pho especially near my work (Oceanic Plaza). I decided to try this pho restaurant out and it was surprisingly decent. The restaurant is ran by chinese/viet people. The menu isn't like those authentic pho restaurant menu (i.e. Bun bo hue, pho dac biet, pho ga, etc.). Instead, they have "special beef noodle" or "beef ball noodle soup" or "seafood noodle soup". They don't use the vietnamese names. I ordered the special beef noodle and a vietnamese ice coffee. Overall the food was delicious and I have no complaints. Will definitely come back!

I had pho here during lunch hours and there is only one standard size for the pho. $11 and you get less than a small portion elsewhere, it pretty much all broth. Usually for $11 you expect a large bowl. They also cheap out on the quality and quantity of the various meats.

Best to go eat elsewhere if you want pho but they have lots of other things on their menu that may be worth trying.

One of the best Vietnamese in the DT area. The barbequed pork is to die for, subs are another of my favorite as well as the Vietnamese coffee. Be early though as the place gets really busy around lunch time.

Understaff during busy lunch time. Pho always comes with basil and bean sprout but not in this restaurant. Had to ask for it. Good side of it, Comes in big portion and always fan of their lemon grass chicken

Terrible service and unclean. The entire restaurant only has 3 customers however the service was late. They were all sitting behind the counter chatting. After self seating the staff handed us the menu which was sticky, then after we decided we couldn't locate any staff until 20min later. The food was also of poor quality, it was obvious that they cheaped out on quality and quantity. Beef pho only had 2 slices of beef. Grilled chicken bahn mi (viet sub) didnt even have a whole chicken piece, only a quarter of chicken breast, butterflied (cooking terms for slicing meat in half horizontally) very disappointing.

Pretty dissatisfied that they charged me extra for using credit card. That too i had to ask for my receipt and confirm what exactly the charges were. I found them a bit rude too. Food is ok.

I asked for the spicy beef broth, but with tofu and veggies and regular (thin) noodles. Got a super-flavourful broth and a generous serving of mixed veggies. Great pho, friendly staff, fair price - a joyful experience.
