What a great repair shop! Lars has helped my with my 20 year old Brompton, sometimes having to do creative fixes for old problems. Also they almost always have the part that I need. Great shop, great repair person!

Bought 2 Brompton folding bikes from this shop. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful, got us set up with everything we needed! Lars and Chris at the workshop were very knowledgeable and helped me solve any issues that came up with the bike. Highly recommend.

I bought 2 bikes there and don't regret it.
The free tune ups are really handy and the service team (more precisely Lars) is really helpful.
Any time I had a problem or had to change anything with the bike, Lars and the team has helped me choosing the best available options and explained how I could make the best use of my bike.
I'd recommend anyone getting their bike fixed there, even if you didn't buy the bike there.

I've been a customer at JVC bikes since 2014. I use my bike every day for commuting, errands, groceries, I never walk.
My first bike with them was a Dahon foldable power assist bike. I'm now on my second power assist bike (foldable Tern with Bafang battery). I've been very happy with both, but with expensive power assist bikes you need more then just a bike mechanic. Lars has been looking after my bikes from the beginning, always thinking of solutions and outside the box to meet my needs and repairs especially as the bikes age, I put a lot of kms on them! We always have a good laugh at how much I don't know about bikes and Lars and the guys are very good (and direct) when explaining the how and why and what won't work and what will work. I definitely would recommend JVC bikes and Lars if you are looking for a new bike with a reliable team for maintenance.

Ordered online and picked up some parts. Order was prepared and ready same day. Website is not flashy but it worked fine for me. Store itself looks nice and clean and has a reasonable range of bikes and accessories. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Lars from Mars! This bike mechanic gives out of this world service. When I leave my bike there, I know it’s going to get fixed right. He is one of the best bike mechanics I have ever met.

JV bikes are a great bike shop in Yale Town. Highly recommend them as they offer a free tune up annually if one buys the bike from them. The specialist mechanic Lars is the best bike mechanic I have ever come across. His honesty and great effort to provide excellent maintenance and repairs when needed is remarkable. Just picked my bike up from JV Bike. It is safe to ride again: brakes; tyres; gears - all sorted, and I love the new handlebar post - what a difference to have that extra height. The service team is wonderful! Took my road bike in just before closing yesterday and found out that the brakes needed to be changed urgently. Rather than having me walk home in my cycling shoes, they changed them on the spot! Carried on with my ride with great appreciation! They’re always amazing Thank you so much!

JV Bikes/Lars in service took in my Moustache e-bike. It's never run as well as it does now. A big shout out for Lars and his attention to detail!

I bought a Norco xfr3 from them in 2018 I think. Everytime I have had a problem (rare) they get me right in under my warranty. Best experience I have had. They took measurements and helped set up the bike to my height and weight. Any time I have a problem they are on it. Nothing but respect.

Came here a couple of weeks ago to buy a foldable bike. It was a great experience. Everyone in the store was friendly and helpful.

Nice place, nice staff, small selection but that's only due to covid. Going to pick up a bike here as soon as the right model becomes available. Trustworthy place.

Sales staff was polite and informative, but service department was rude and seemingly indifferent to my business.

They didn't seem to care, or even want my business. I felt like I was scolded for having my bike in to get new tires put on. I will likely be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Amazing. I had an issue with UPS and the owner took the time to walk me through everything. I really appreciate the time and care JV Bike took for me. At first I was worried, but they made my experience so much better.

These guys are world-class. I was recommended by a friend for how well they rewired her cruiser bike. I’ve had a hard time finding the right taillight to install on my fiancée’s etrike. I popped in on the weekend and Janko, the owner showed me a couple options and recommended I bring it in and could do a custom install to run off the main battery. When I brought it in a few days later, it was his day off but Lars did a great job finding me an alternative USB chargeable light and installing it for me. He pointed out a few extra tweaks on how to improve the ride. These guys are the real deal and treat every customer very well. I’ll be buying my future ebike here.

Huge inventory of accessories. Best selection of folding bikes in the city as well. Staff are friendly as well.

I got my front tire replaced over the weekend and the service staff was very helpful and not pushy at all about what kind of tire I should get, even going through the trouble of showing me different tires. They kindly filled my back tire as well, but coincidentally that back tire went flat the next day and when I took it back, they replaced its inner tube and didn’t charge for labour again. I found them to be pretty efficient and would go back for help. I’ve been in their retail store as well and have found them to be welcoming and provide good service for when I was trying to look for bike parts.

The sales staff was great. The mechanic, Lars, was pretty condescending and not helpful. He suggested we not try to take the wheel off the bike I bought because there was a singular wire to hook up the brakes after putting the tire back on. He didn't explain how to do it to me, he explained it to my boyfriend, my boyfriend was not the one buying the bike. - It was not a complicated process.

I have always experienced a helpful, knowledgeable staff at jvbike and I have purchased both regular bikes and electric retrofits here. Most recently, Lars was very helpful in expediting a special purchase item (bike lock) for me. I heartily recommend JVBike!

I came by yesterday after having some big problems with my chain during a delivery shift. In less than 10m, one of the person working there helped me and took care of my bike. His help was much appreciated and I highly recommend you to go to this shop.

I took my Brompton in for tire change to marathon plus. They also gave me a free tune up because i bought my bike from them. My bike worked pretty well before, but it worked better afterwards. Great service.

Very friendly staff from the beginning I bought my evo e-bike, especially Marcus who helped me a lot. He gave me knowledge about the bike, the instructions how to fold it. Today, I came back to the store cause I need help to unfold. Again, Marcus helped with it and even checked the brake to make sure it's good. The tall guy in the repair shop is totally helpful as well and checked my bike thoroughly. I am so happy with the super excellent service from teh whole team.

These guys were great. Very helpful, and I didn’t feel like I was being sold things I didn't need. Damian spent a lot of time with me, explained everything really well, and didn't make me feel stupid for being a beginner. They have a nice range of accessories from affordable to luxury. Service turnaround was quick and job was well done.

I purchased a new bike from JV. It arrived with a damaged wheel. JV refused to take responsibility for the defects. Janco, the guy that I dealt with, first ignored my e-mails. Only after I contacted them through Paypal they responded and requested that send the wheel back on my account. The shipping back and forth would have cost me the value of the damage. So they left me out in the cold. Don't expect any service if purchase online a bike from this store.

Purchased a bike from there about 2 months ago. Recently picked it up from a tune-up and I am very pleased with with work they have done to my bike.

The service was stellar and the employees are very welcoming. Will recommend any friends that are looking for a bike to check this place out!

They carry some very premium quality products. I got my Tern Vektron S10 from them, and they have been very helpful maintenance. People are nice and professional!

Awesome experience buying my bike at this shop. I visited about 6 shops in the downtown Vancouver area and this was the only place I received thorough and professional customer service. They may be a little no-nonsense here but they seem genuinely interested in getting you the best bike possible and are very knowledgable. Rumen spent about 30 minutes with me despite knowing that I may not buy a bike there from the start. You also get free tune-ups for life with a new bike which is pretty incredible.

I felt that they were very low pressure here as well.

Very rude & vulgar manager! Not sure of his name (but he isn’t fluent in English). I will not comment on the poor quality of their bikes. I was called cheap by this manager when they didn’t explain well the minimum 2 hour policy although I had asked for 1 hour (the staff using their brochure) told me it’s 7.5 only. I was also called dumb! For not understanding their policy! They are not transparent when they include the 7.5 $ price in a “larger font” versus the smaller font for the 2 hours minimum duration. They should be honest & transparent and use the same font for both. I explained to him that it wasn’t a price issue but it was that I don’t have that much time to spend. He responded by saying you are rude and here came The 3rd insult when I was called “looking down on us”! I usually have higher expectations from a business manager! He also called the Mexican worker dumb. He clearly has a behavior problem. However I will leave other customers to judge from first hand experience.
