Kaboom Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Great coaches kids loved coming here but I was disappointed with the tournament and the refs. My son was in a choke hold for almost 25 seconds and one stopped it until he passed out and fell to his knees. I expressed my concerns to the owner but pretty much blew me off. So I pulled them out after giving them at least 2 years of my business.

My 4 year old son joined few month ago and he’s really been enjoying going. All the coaches are really great with the children and make them feel welcome from the the first day.

Kaboom is an amazing place to train. The coaches are highly skilled and able to convey their knowledge in a way that makes sense for any level. The gym also has a great culture which is welcoming whether your goals are competition oriented or simply for fitness.

Excellent! My son has been going here for over two years, and he loves it. We love that they promote a healthy life/outlook with their weekly challenges, as well as the physical challenge. The coaches are all awesome and very supportive. Would highly recommend!

I have been with Kaboom for just over a month now and my time at the Gym has been wonderful.
Literally every single person I have met, from student to coach, is supportive, friendly, and welcoming to anyone who comes through.

The classes are well taught and provide opportunities to practice elements of a move, and then whole move put together. At the beginning of the week, links to videos are sent to students to conceptualize moves prior to jumping into classes which are also very helpful!

What stood out the most was the effort made by staff to learn your name. This level of commitment shown by the gym shows they care about my experience, my learning, and my comfort while present.

I cannot recommend this gym enough, Coach Kabir and Coach Darcie are awesome, and will definitely make you feel welcome.

My son has been going to Kaboom since he was 4. All of the coaches have been amazing. They are highly skilled and great with connecting with the kids. I like that they not only teach jiu jitsu but also some valuable life lessons as well. Thank you everyone at Kaboom!

I visited Kaboom for a seminar and was really impressed with this dojo. The dojo is clean with plenty of mat space, lots of free parking and most importantly, it is staffed with great people. Owner Kabir is very approachable and welcoming. I look forward to visiting this school again in the future.

My husband and I were looking to have this experience for my 5 year old son but we weren't sure where to go, based on the ratings this school has, it seemed like a great place to start. I can't go back! From our first contact to seek information, the communication was clear, pleasant, and very friendly. The coaches are super cool! They have a unique way of talking to children, and it makes them feel safe. My son is very shy, but this helped him to love the classes! Very clean, ventilated place. 100% communication and prices are very affordable.

My son Jordhen, has been coming here since he was 3 years old (he's now a couple months away from being 6) and he absolutely loves it. It has helped his confidence in many different aspects of his life. He's a more attentive student at school keeping well focused with a 'Can do' positive attitude. All of the coaches at Kaboom are great - coach Brandon and Coach Kenny have helped with Jordhen's early life learning and development more than they will ever know and I will be forever grateful for that! Jordhen has come a long way since his first few months at Kaboom - Coach Brandon, went above and beyond in Jordhen's first year with private classes, helping to mold Jordhen into the little man he is today!

I turn 40 next year and started taking classes myself at the start of this year - its been a very humbling but great experience so far. I can't recommend this place enough. It has a great family like vibe to it. No egos, no judgement, lots of laughs with friendly people who only want to help you better your Jujitsu!

Kaboom is an amazing place; filled with amazing people. Kaboom is so much more than a regular gym, it makes you feel safe while you are getting chocked out. It is a place where anyone can fit in. The coaches are the absolute best. They will always make sure you understand what to do, answer any questions you have, and they do their best to make you feel comfortable, and happy. I would not learn jiu-jitsu anywhere else.

My kids love Kaboom! The coaches are great with kids and teens. They learn not only Jiu-Jitsu technics but also life skills such as positivity, respect, self-esteem, honesty, discipline…I highly recommend!

Finished my first 25 lessons - been training here since October. Amazing atmosphere, staff are super friendly and very well trained (both as practitioners and coaches), camaraderie amongst the community is outstanding, too. Really makes BJJ fun and for an older newbie, it's so important to have that supportive environment for growth. Will hopefully be a part of Kaboom for a while! Can't recommend it enough (:

Our son has been a member at Kaboom for the past two years, and he says it’s a great community of coaches and kids. We’re most impressed by the quick communication and swift organization to other options (like virtual classes), when covid first hit and all throughout the pandemic as restrictions changed. Besides learning valuable JiuJitsu skills which promote confidence, fitness, and personal goal setting, Kaboom also focuses on teaching their students life skills. It’s a great club, with dedicated coaches, and we highly recommend it!

I trained here on a visit to BC 2 years back, amazing school with amazing instructors! The best thing was how welcoming they were to me even though I train at a different school in Alberta. Professor Kabir is an amazing instructor and a high level black belt under professor Rafael lovato jr.which speaks volumes in itself. Will definitely train here again on my next trip to BC

Whether you are a first timer, enrolling your children, or active competitor, the Kaboom team has coaches that are very welcoming and help every step of the way. The facility is also very clean and follows all Covid safety protocols. Highly recommend!

Kaboom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic training community in the Surrey area. The facilities are clean, organized, and is an overall inviting atmosphere. Staff are friendly and professional, greeting visitors upon entry.

I enjoyed both the instructional classes, as well as the open mat sessions, offered throughout the week. Being a Jiu Jitsu practitioner for over 13 years, I feel that this is a great breeding ground for excellent technical Jiu Jitsu, and is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

My son attended kaboom virtual academy and he loved it, but sadly he was diagnosed with asma and made it hard for him when he had really deep cough. The owner has been great with accommodating everything we needed and would recommend them 100 percent. You guys have been great!

The owner and the program set out is good and welcoming for all skill levels. However, I stopped going because I started to develop jumpers knee. When I brought it up to one of the coaches, all she said was 'aww' and continued the class with a lot of high impact movements causing me to hurt my knees even more. No alternate workouts were given to me to help me with my concerns and injury. My boyfriend and friend who I was going with at the time were also turned off by the poor behavior of the coach that they too stopped going.

Really amazing school with great coaches and instructors. Good learning environment and healthy gym culture. Would definitely reccomend checking Kaboom BJJ out!

Fantastic place to learn and train BJJ! In my opinion the best BJJ Gym in Canada! Since I moved from Brazil to Canada around 4 years ago I was greeted with the hospitality of Coach Kabir Bath and Kaboom's team these guys welcomed and inspired me to become more.
Kabir's passionate, knowledgable, detailed, fun and a great example for the teammates and the kids I'm really glad to see the solid and professional work developed especially with the kids helping them growing confident, healthy through martial art, learn discipline, respect, develop friendships, socialize, develop body awareness, coordination, focus and positivity.

Kabir has dedicated his life to jiujitsu over the past decade and it shows in his game, teaching and competition results. When you attend you know he will take the time to critique your game and push you to improve.

Our 5 year old daughter had a chance to participate in their 4 ~ 6 year old challenge program this summer and she really liked it. The coaches are excellent and we really liked the fact that they not only teach your kid the Jiu-Jitsu physical skills, but they also have a really good system to teach your kids other important things in life that are as important. My daughter had learned how to make her bed every morning and she had also learned the meaning of "respect" and how to respect her coaches, parent, teachers and friends from the challenges her coach gave her. We would've let her continue on to the next level if it's closer to where we live.

My son loves it here. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The gym as a whole is fantastic! It feels like a family the way Parents, Students & staff treat one another. Job well done!

Great atmosphere, great class structure, and AMAZING instructors. There aren't enough words to describe how patient, kind, thoughtful, engaging, motivating, and, simply, awesome they are. My son isn't the best listener but each one of them take the time to get him back on track. My daughter begs for every night to be Jujitsu! Thank you, Kaboom!

Kabir is a true martial artist. I have known him for years and he has stayed dedicated and committed to his craft through all the ups and downs of his journey.

From the perspective of a Martial Artist Kaboom Martial arts has got it all and then some. If you live in the area there is no other academy you should be training in or sending your kids to!

I've known Kabir, the owner, for years. Not only is he a skilled martial artist, but he's one of the best and most caring teachers I know. The classes are amazing and effective. I wish I had my kids with me so they could participate in the high energy kids classes they have.

Kaboom Brazilian Jiujitsu is definitely the place to go if you are ever in the area and looking for a great place to train. I've had the privilege to train with, compete with, and learn from Professor Kabir. His knowledge of martial arts and technique is extensive, but beyond that the thing that truly stands out about Kabir is his genuine love and care for his students and friends. I assure you, that you cannot go wrong wit Kaboom!

I met Kabir through the grappling tournament so when I was in Canada I decided to visit his school. The school was very clean with a lot of talented martial artist. I had a lot of fun and was able to get some top level grappling training in. I'm sure I will be back the next time I'm in Canada!

Originally I signed up to learn self defense and to build confidence in sticky situations. On top of what I hoped for, I've made a ton of friends, gained a second family and became included in a community that encourages teamwork and working with one another. The coaches and students are all amazing and the ego maniacs get weeded out early. It is impossible to progress through bjj with a bad attitude and arrogance. The prices are high but this isn't just a gym, it's an entirely new way of living. Give it a try!
