Kaiso Japanese and Thai Cuisine

The food was presented nicely but was flavorless and quite expensive the service was good but we did have some tummy issues afterwards.

Not great - sat by the entrance so people basically stand beside your table. Miso soup was watered down, no flavour. Everything came out spaced apart, couldn't enjoy the meal as a family as the teriyaki came 20 minutes before the rolls did.

Food was good, and has been good all of the times we have gone, however service is horrendous. I would give it less than 1 star if I could. We waited over 20 min in the restaurant before anyone came to the table, food took a substantially long time with absolutely no communication, I had to ask for anything I needed rather than a server coming to the table to check in, and there was absolutely no acknowledgement of the poor service, not just for us but several other tables who were clearly unimpressed as well. We will not be frequenting here again for a long while, and only for takeout.

Not overly impressed with the sushi rolls. The rice was very mushy and as you can see in the pics there’s barely any shrimp. It’s mostly tempura. The chopped scallop rolls were soggy. The sashimi was good but expensive for 8 pieces $17. We also order Pad Thai and asked for 10/10 spicy and it’s not spicy at all and it was very bland: - (

The reason I am leaving a negative review is not due to the food, but due to the fish in the small gallon tank near the check-out counter. If you know anything about fish, you would know that that a tropic fish like the Flowerhorn (and similar fish) need at least a 55 gallon tank. Not only is it cruel to have a fish that size for "show, " it is definitely inhumane. To put it into perspective, the really small betta fish you see from Petsmart need a 2-3 gallon tank. So, hopefully this post educates some and maybe the poor fish will have a chance to live a happier life in a larger tank. Thanks.

It all comes down to the service because the waiter kept on forgetting our order as some as simple as getting us water to when we asked him to have it mild and changed our order to spicy and not having the consideration in asking us if we needing anything like cutlery or more napkins or water. Me and my wife and kids have been going there for years and people ask me where is a good place to eat and I'm sorry to say it's not here anymore. Plus I asked him on why the noodles on the pad tia were so mushy his response was different distributors huh? Lame excuse. Also I would add that my daughter went there with her friend for dinner and found a black bug in her vegetables. I don't know what happened but in the past year this place has gone down hill I'm sorry to say

First time my partner and I went to Kaiso, we were very impressed. The restaurant was very clean, staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting great Japanese food and Thai food. We will Definitely return. Excellent

My husband and I ordered the gyoza, pad son ros and pan ang curry last evening and everything was amazing! The gyoza were so flavourful and clearly handmade. The spice level was perfect as we like it spicy! Portion size was great! Overall very happy customers!

Waited over 50 minutes for our food. We ordered in the restaurant to take the food out and it was nearly empty by the time we got our food, they said it was because they were very busy- when we came in that was true but definitely not in the last 25 minutes of our wait. When we got the food it was warm and the panko crust on the sushi was soggy and mushi. They forgot two things from our order on top of taking nearly an hour to make the four or five items we ordered. Lots of people seem to have a perfectly fine experience here but our order was (very) late, not fresh, and incomplete.

Ordered sushi here many times and it's always been decent. Just ordered Pad See iew For the 2nd time and again I got some weird version of pad Thai.cmon guys I thought you'd just miss heard my order the 1st time but this time I ordered through your online ordering And still got this weird version of pad Thai.
Pad See iew Translates essentially to fried soy sauce I believe And a soy sauce based noodle dish is what it is supposed to be. Super tasty but not Pad See iew

When with a party of 4. We had a mix if sushi and Thai bowls. Food was very good and service was excellent. Will definitely go back.

Best sushi in the Okanagan. Momo on Bernard is a close second but these guys have some very high quality fish, fantastic avacado and delicious mango.

Enjoyed a wonderful takeout dinner! So tasty and full of beautiful vegetables. We will be a regular customer for sure!

Stayed at the new Townesuites and have been here 2x in the last 2 days and it was absolutely amazing! Tried the ramen, tempura, Nigeria, a few roles and miso soup, it was all superb! Will definitely be coming back!

How come everytime I call in a order except once you don't answer the phone? It goes straight to voice-mail.kinda hard to rate your food when you won't answer the phone?

Obsessed with the vegan ramen, so delicious. I've had their tofu donburi and sushi and both are very good, but nothing beats the ramen. Also the service is great and everyone is very friendly.

I've been coming here for almost 2 year, never had a bad meal! Everything is so delicious everyone I recommended to come visit also liked it! I'm a really picky eater but they make ingredients id never eat at home look delicious and taste delicious! I really love this place, you get your moneys worth everything is always fresh and hot! Atmosphere depending on the time is calm or lively! I prefer to come on less busy days and closer to evening just hits the mood right! (But busy days are good spent with a few friends makes you feel more lively!) Really lovely people and I appreciate the work you guys do! I've come here on any occasion, good or bad alone and with friends, the food always makes me happy! They have dishes for diffrent tastes, my mom loves spicy food and has found a great soup on the menu, I've found great dishes that have zero spice, we've tried almost half of the dishes on the menu and keep finding the once we really like! I recommend to explore and its great for people who like to try out diffrent stuff!

Quick friendly service. Good Covid protocols. Went with friends, we ordered 4 different dishes and all were really good!

I have been to Thailand, this is the real deal. Seared tuna was great. Pad kee mau with spice level 7 was worth sweating for! Had their pad Thai last week also really really good.
Forget the Japanese ;-), this is the part of the menu you want to explore

I adore this place. The sushi is great, the ramen is spectacular. They are extremely efficient, and staff seem super pleasant. I would 100% recommend them to any and everyone. They are fast becoming my favourite restaurant, and totally my go-to comfort food.
