Went in with a leaky tire on my son’s car. The leak persisted after several attempts to plug and patch it. The owner gave me a used tire that matched.

Have to travel from Salt Spring Island to get work done reliably. I’ve been using Kal Tire for years when I was putting on 125,000 km a year as a professional driver. Thought it’s about time I put in a word for these people. I’ve had glitches in the past but stuff happens and in the end they always make it right. And someone said Tasha at the service is worth her weight in gold. I think it would be more like her weight in Bitcoin. She takes very good care of customers in a pleasant manner. I'll admit that generally speaking Kal Tire does an excellent job. We own 15 service vehicles and they do a great job in Victoria. Unfortunately they placed me in a very dangerous situation in the Duncan location when they sent me off after changing my 4 tires to winter tires Saturday morning. The car started to wobble back and forth at 60 Kph and increased at higher speeds. It is extremely dangerous over 90 Kph. I immediately went back and the tech took it for a test drive. He admitted there was a problem but said "the wheels aren't going to fall off" and said " snow tires are soft and that is common the first 100 Kms. "
I had no issues waiting almost 2 hours to get the initial work done (staff shortages) : It would have been nice to have been told that in advance so I could have done something else in meantime. I was surprised when they couldn't put on new windshield viper blades because they couldn't find my car model in their catalogue? Can't you just manually measure the blade size?
I have an appointment with competitor on Friday downtown Victoria to figure this out. Thanks Kal Tire for putting me in a dangerous situation.

Appointment at 9am, get there at 9: 07, guy says I’ll be with you in a minute. By the time he gets us checked it it’s 9: 20. Says it’ll be done in a couple hours. Great. Come back 2.5 hours later, nothing done. Lady says, you were late so we’ll get to it some time today. So why did you tell me a couple hours? ! And we ordered new tires on rims, a quick swap! That’s called blaming the customer because you’re too incompetent to follow through with promises.

Had an emergency on a road trip today, seized caliper. These guys didn't have time to squeeze us in but Yaman took time to have a look, and then called around to make sure the parts were available and found a trusted shop he recommended us to who could fit in the repair today. He's a star and I really appreciate his going above and beyond to help a stranger!
