Kal Tire

Was not charged for service so not too much to complain about but I was not given a report/invoice at the end of my visit to explain the problem - only verbally. The guy at the front desk gave me the wrong information repeatedly leading me to not fully believe his diagnosis (especially that I was at another Kal Tire just the week before for the same problem and they said nothing about a nail in the tire).

They told me my original tires were on there and I had to point out that it was my spare. He then gave me my keys and said I was good to go - good thing I checked because my OEM tire and wheel was not in the car. I had to go back to ask for it.

Overall pretty disappointing experience in this location considering I've had great experiences in other locations in the past.

Customer for over 10 years. 1st visit 10+ years ago, had a flat, closest location to me was Kaltire Main St, Mgr Volker repaired flat with no appt and no charge. For that, bought new tires from him. Then started going for seasonal winter/summer tire swap. After Mgr Volker left for new position, Mgr Steve and Asst Mgr Albert provided excellent service for succeeding years. Currently Mgr Madhur at location. Got off on frustrating start with him. Tried booking appt with him to have flat repaired due to closest location to me. He tried brushing me off to another Kaltire location that was 15mins further out (maybe they were busy at this location). Finally after 3 attempts, booked for appt at his location. Wasn’t expecting much from him, however after tire repaired, told me it was complimentary and apologized for inconvenience. October 2023, bought snow tires and rims from him. Had to make 3 appts to get tires installed as TPMs was not working. Problem resolved as generic TPMs was not compatible with vehicle, had to order costlier sets. They were replaced with no cost to me due to their error and inconvenience to me. Mgr Madhur was very professional in his dealings with me, and once error is found, will advise and correct as promptly as he can to minimize inconvenience.
I have nothing but high praise for the Managers (past and present), staff at this location.

Booked an appointment for 6 tires to be replaced on my ram 3500 dually. Staff didn't understand why I bought 6 but they could only replace 4? The website allowed me to make the reservation which had detailed information on make and model of my truck. How can a tire shop not be able to change tires on a dually. Would of been nice if I was notified.

Changing my review to 5 stars. I received prompt communication after posting an earlier review. The store manager reached out and made it right by helping me right away. All businesses can make mistakes, but the true test is how they make it right. Thank you for owning the error, correcting this, and following up. I have faith in the Kal Tire team for helping clients!

Super great experience with the front counter staff named Jireh. She was fast, patient and very thorough. Best service I’ve had a long while.

Do not go near this place for anything other than putting on tires. Recently paid for a mechanical service. Got told everything was fine, alignment was done. A few weeks later I am having issues with driving and noticing noises. Brought it to a different mechanics: both ball joints worn, hole in CV boot, issue with the axle. I was charged for an inspection they either didn't do or were not competent to do. Do not go near these guys.

I recently had an appointment for a winter tire to summer tire change at Kal Tire, but unfortunately overslept and missed my appointment. I was concerned about finding a solution since not all mechanics in downtown have the size of equipment to change the tires on my Porsche Panamera. I dropped off my vehicle at Kal Tire to Madhur J.with the hopes of getting in as soon as possible, and to my surprise, Madhur and the team were able to accommodate me right away! They had a cancellation and put me in immediately, even though they were fully booked. I was so relieved and grateful! The team at Kal Tire was extremely professional, kind, and accommodating, and I couldn't have asked for better service. They went above and beyond to help me out and made the process as smooth as possible. I highly recommend Kal Tire for their expertise, equipment, and exceptional customer service. I thought I give Kal Tire (Main street) a try after seeing how they have 4 stars.

I came in to have to 2 - USED tires installed. I personally thought they were good but I guess it turns out that they were not. (inner side walls had a small puncture. (MY FAULT)

My reason for the 1 star, is because I had asked if everything was good before picking them up. The person over the phone said everything was great.

So if everything was great why would you not let me know that the tires had issues. I would have been okay that you mounted the tires then as you put air in, to find out that there was a leak. That would have been my fault and I would have still paid for the service.

BUT! Why would you go balance the wheels to charge me another $60, when I can't even use the tires.definitely no integrity here. I would stay after from these guys!

The assistant manager, Madhur. Reached out to me and apologize for the situation. He also agreed that it was not right. I was refunded the balanced fees. I'm glad that they were willing to help me and resolve this issue! 1 to 3 stars.

I’ve been dealing with KALTIRE, SPECIFICALLY the Main Street location for WELL OVER 12 years! For ALL THE TIMES that I’ve either bought new tires or needed to have them repaired, NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT!

On my MOST RECENT visit, ‘cause of my OVERLY AGGRESSIVE driving, I had punctured the side of the Front Passanger Wheel. It, UNFORTUNATELY, wasn’t covered under KALTIRE’s warranty but, SOMEHOW, Jyra, Kirby, Nate, Neelima, Shobum and ESPECIALLY Management Navdeep & Madhur, were able to replace it at a fraction of the price for a new tire!

MUCHLY APPRECIATED! For sure 5 STARS! And IF POSSIBLE, 5 THUMBS UP!

Special shout out to Madhur, the assistant manager who helped me today. I came in for an oil change. Turns out they were down a mechanic but still did their best to get me out on time for work, which they did! They were also able to help me with some pricing things and their service was extremely friendly and kind. Would totally recommend!

I was there yesterday for my car alignment and I, had issue with unbalanced steering wheel and they helped me really well with fixing it specially their store manager Navdeep was so polite and explained very well and they told me it will took about 2 hours but i was literally done before 2 hours, I would love to recommend to visit them for fast and quality services.

Terrible experience. They have poor time management. They quoted 90 minutes then called me after 90 minutes saying they hadn’t started and their compressor had been broken for over 30 minutes. They wanted to keep my car overnight. Then they blamed me for dropping off my car 10 minutes late for why they didn’t start my car after 90 minutes. Terrible customer service will not return.

Kal Tire at 1670 Main Street in Vancouver is second to none in customer service. Bobby and Navdeep know how to treat customers and their knowledge of tires and wheels is phenomenal. I would highly recommend them for your next tire or wheel purchase and or install!

If you're a woman (or just truly know nothing about cars like myself), I highly suggest going elsewhere for tire changeovers/any services. I had brought my car in to have the winter tires changed to all seasons, they quoted me $975.00 for this service. In fairness to them, my car had swollen lug nuts and needed extra labour to take them off (which apparently they charge $15 per lug nut for and $23 each for replacement). I politely declined this and brought my car to the Jiffy Lube up the street where they managed to do the tire changeover for $200 and walked me through the issues with my lug nuts and showed me what they replaced and why. It is really intimidating going into repair stores as a woman to begin with, and when someone tries to take advantage of you it makes it even less likely that I will be returning or recommending it to anyone.

We’ve been to many Kal Tires and appreciate that they all have high standards of customer service. This location has done many seasonal tire swaps for us and they’ve always been punctual and professional. The one experience that was above and beyond is when they replaced a single tire for us in less than a few hours so that we would not delay a holiday that we’d planned.

After years of great service I "finally" received the lemon. I really hope this was an exception but something that I'll have to keep an eye in the future.

After scheduling and appointment and showing right on time, I was told the tire change will take 2 hours (or more). Somehow every single year before that was in a 1 hour ball park. Something that's even more annoying is that for my past 2 visits I received the notification (SMS) that my vehicle is ready only after picking it up.

I think your system is fundamentally broken if you're unable to provide timely service for booked appointments for your long standing customers.

Bobbie at KalTire. I came to you urgently and desperately yesterday to fix my tire, or possibly replace it. You went out of your way to squeeze me in your very busy calender, find me the right tire (even though in my own garage) and replace it with the cheapest labor cost i have been charged! Booked an appointment for 11 am, car was taken in by 12: 05 pm only. Also, they didn’t check the tires pressure. I had to stop at a gas station to do it myself.

Got fitted with the wrong sized tires on a car and thanks to the great work from Jamie, he got us an appointment ASAP. He accommodated us with everything we needed done. We will definitely be back for the great customer service.

Website was very modern and informative. Employees both on the phone and in the store were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and efficient, and price was exactly what was quoted. Overall fantastic experience and would highly recommend.

Quick and friendly service! We were heading out on a road trip and the tire sensor said we had a puncture. They were able to check it very quickly (and found it wasn’t punctured, just low) and filled the tire. Thanks for the speedy help!

Went to get a tire alignement. Waited a few hours to find out they never did it because the tire rods needed to be replaced. They quoted over a thousand dollars to replace the tire rods and do the alignement. Took the car to DC auto - not only did they do the alignment, they also said the tire rods were completely fine. This place is a giant scam.

Was able to repair my punctures tire at no cost, since it was bought through them. It was driven flat a little bit but after inspection they said it was okay and was able to get repaired! Also asked to check alignment as some other shop suggested, but they told me its in spec. They do honest a good work here, just like any Kal Tire!

They always make time for me in an emergency. Everyone is so great and friendly.
I'll go here every time.

Most friendly service I've had with tires! Harold was amazing and helped me get everything done way faster than I expected. Albert on the phone was great too! Will definitely be coming back!

Just got my punctured tire fixed here and was very pleased with the service. One of the service guys, Neil was very personable and helpful. Will look forward to bringing my business here next time. (Hopefully not another puncture!)

Not happy, they were unable to provide service so I drive away with my flat tire.edited. I had a spare tire to replace it but I will say that I ended up with 4 new tires. I believe in true service. Sometimes hard to find. Please keep in mind I like Kal tire but I will pass on this location cause of how you made me feel. Much success to you and the team.

Really great service. Employees are really nice and the service is top. Really happy how honest they are. First time I had a flat tire they were able to quick fix it and they didn't suggest to change the tire (like happened to me in the past with other vendors) and just yesterday I drove there my working vehicle with a flat tire again. I paid in advance since a co-worker of mine was going to pick it up and he received a credit from them since they weren't able to satisfy a service they charged me in advance (not able to do alignment not for their fault but due vehicle mechanical issues). REALLY APPRECIATED! Thank guys. I will back for sure if I need.

My car was left unlocked and they used allmy tools in the trunk but left them all open and a mess. Not going back!

I took my Audi Q7 with this guys for a very simple job, that i could even do if i had the tools at home, switch tires for another set of tires.
They told me they could do this and they will do it as soon as they could, i came back almost by closing time, because i needed my car to get to a competition in Whistler, to realize they hadn't done anything to it, then they come with this excuse taken out from like kinder garden where the guy told me that they could not unscrew a bolt without breaking my hub, and that they would need to order the hub, and then they will probably wanted to pile up some more charges, regular automotive crooks, also the people working there, they look miserable without a smile, like the work against the will, I took my car to West Coast Frame and Alignment and in 15 minutes it was done, my hub was perfect and they didn't even charged me after i explained them the story.
Dont take your car there, go to west coast frame and alignment

Very good place. They are fair in pricing and quick on fixing any flat tire. I would recommend this shop

Don't store your tires here.

They held a set of OEM wheels and tires here for a Jaguar XFRS and REFUSED to return them to the rightful owner, sighting a dispute between Kal tire and another dealer who stored the tires there on behalf of the rightful owner. Offered to pay the storage fee for this set (having already paid at the dealer who sublet this to Kal tire) again, but refused.

Been working on this for months, am now told all the tires and wheels were sold to a 3rd party.

I would sincerely prefer to work things out amicably, but when something like this is so blatantly wrong, and no response, admission or initiative is taken by a Company to rectify things before they escalate to this point, so be it.

*** follow up to Kal Tire's Response:

Not quite true, as we were told the dealer in question had an outstanding bill of $14,000, and if that was paid the wheels and tires would be released, intimating that if we paid it, we would get the wheel set back.

It wasn't, so Kal Tire went ahead and sold the wheels, despite knowing we really wanted them back.

I think most people reading this are smart enough to recognise that dragging an innocent party into a dispute between two businesses is just, well, bad business.

I went to drop my car off for a tire repair and could not believe the front desk guy would not provide any service. He claims that they are so busy that I could not even leave it with them and pick it after work. What arrogance. I guess they don't need any more business

I went in to buy new tires, and my experience was fantastic. Phil at the front desk was great, he was very knowledgeable and even offered cheaper alternatives, the tires went on without a hitch and as scheduled. Definitely recommend.

This place has always given me problems. Have never bought tires, but as a disabled person they always park their customers cars on the side walks. Asked them to leave room for my scooter to no avail. Don't buy tires here!

Front staff was good. I waited 3.5 hours for a tire change and tire alignment. When I got into my car I noticed the low tire pressure. When i change my tires the low pressure symbol always appears, but after a few km of driving it goes away. This time the light didn't go away. First I thought it was the sensor, something told me to check the tire pressure. After all that time i spent there the individual that worked on my car forgot to put air in my rear left tire AND forgot to put the tire vulve cap back in. I'm extremely annoyed that I waited all that time for incomplete and incompetent work. I will be returning for a new vulve cap and will never be returning.

My mom dropped by today. She was worried sick going alone because her English isn't very good. She describes the employees there as being incredibly patient and helpful and she came back very happy. Thank you for helping the old lady out!

I recently purchased a set of Nokian tires for my 2011 Ford ranger. They are the best tires i bought. I would like to compliment Steve for the wonderful service he gave me. Thanks to Steve and all his staff at Kal tire.

Yes they are fast so 1 point for that. 2. They are friendly so another point for that but, zero points for leaving a bag of your subway garbage sitting in the front seat, with the windows up, baking in the hot sun. Just gross. Wont be back.

At every Kal Tire I've ever been to, the service has been outstanding. I'm made the feel as though I'm not just the next customer in line, but the most important customer in line. Can't recommend this place enough.

Brutal customer service, and terrible service in general. I had to take my vehicle to a actual mechanic after getting my tires switched.

I had a really good experience here. The guys helped me out short notice with a flat tire near the end of the work day. They came in under the quoted price and faster than they said they could do it. I was in a position where they could have charged me a higher price but they chose to treat me fairly and I respect this. Thanks guys, I'll be back

These guys are awesome! They are fair, they are honest and they do great work. What more can you ask for!? Highly highly recommend this Kal Tire location on Main Street between Terminal and 1st Ave in East Vancouver.

I dropped in with a tire with a nail in it. They accommodated that and much more the same day, even though I insisted the extra work could be scheduled for another day. I feel I can trust these guys. It’s a no BS atmosphere, and I’ll be back for sure.
