Just had a seasonal tire change with them for the 3rd time today and all 3 times it only took around 30mins. Every other tire places i go always take atleast over 1-2 long wait. Great service and speedy service! Very happy! Will keep coming back

I recently visited Kal Tire for an alignment service due to my vehicle pulling to the right. Initially, I appreciated their commitment to inspect the suspension first before proceeding with the alignment, with the intention of ensuring the necessity of the service.

Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse. Despite their promise to conduct a thorough suspension inspection, I later discovered that my car's alignment issue persisted because the front lower control arms needed replacement. This crucial diagnosis was missed during my first visit, rendering the initial alignment service unnecessary and a waste of money.

What disappointed me further was the explanation provided over the phone after my initial visit, attributing the continued pulling to the road itself. This explanation seemed questionable and left me feeling unconvinced. It wasn't until I insisted on a reevaluation that the actual issues were identified – front lower control arms needing replacement and noise originating from the rear parking brake.

While most aspects of their customer service were commendable, the oversight in diagnosing the root cause of the problem during the first visit left me dissatisfied. I believe that had the suspension inspection been conducted thoroughly as promised, the control arm issue could have been identified earlier, saving both time and money.

In conclusion, my experience with Kal Tire was mixed. Although their customer service was generally positive, the failure to diagnose the underlying problem during the initial visit and the seemingly dismissive explanation over the phone left me with reservations about their overall expertise and attention to detail.

Extremely disappointing experience. Don’t waste your money. Terrible service. Damaged my brand new winter tires during installation. Refused to fix it. Their advise was “go to Mr Lube”

Had a nail in a tire that needed to be patched up. Since they were closed for the day already, I booked an appointment online for the next day. The fix took about 20 minutes. Communication was clear and I appreciated being serviced on time.

Wow. I had a screw in my tire and they repaired and had the car back to me in less than 90 min. Inexpensive too. Their competitor told me that they couldn’t fix my tire and tried to charge me $700 for two rear tires. Moving forward, I’ll be going here for all my tire needs.

The guys at this location are great. Brought my car in a few times now and very happy with the service.

I went in for an alignment the alignment issue isn’t fixed it’s still swerves to one side significantly, Well I wouldn’t recommend Kal Tire for their alignment service. Seemly spending $151.20 after taxes was a total waste of money. Well it’s just a Big Tire Chain Store with no quality control measures and the store looking for profit not for car customers care it’s best to to take it elsewhere.

Incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful whether it’s suggesting easy fixes I can do on my own so they don’t have to charge me, swapping out summer tires, or taking care of me when I was having a rough day and got a flat tire. Highly recommend!

Why do flat tires only happen on rainy days? I made numerous calls to try and get an appointment this Sunday with no success, those who answered gave 2-3hours wait time. Kaltire on Arbutus was the only one that asked me to bring the tire in and drop it off. Since I already have the tire off they were able to inspect it and determined it would be a quick fix and they could fit me in (they had a window between appointments). Call it luck or just awesome customer service. I know it’s the busiest time with the snow tire changes and all, others with flat tires may not be so lucky but I’m glad I went to Kaltire on Arbutus! Thank you!

We accidentally switched to a different tire place and quickly returned to Kal tire. Being able to book online, change the appointment online is hands down a good service. The customer service is awesome, nice employees and always on time. We are returning customers for sure.

Service at the location is amazing! Norm and the team are really accommodating. I had to last minute reschedule my booked appointment Norm made sure I could get my tires when I needed them! First time having to deal with all Terrain/all weather and Winter tires. James is very knowledgeable and gave great advice. He did not pressure me to buy any tires and gave me different options for future needs. I did end up buying another set of tires that is suitable for my current needs. When I returned to collect my car, Norm was fantastic in explaining their warranty and care of the tires. And I got some insider tips of places to go visit!

I took my car i had some small issues with breaks, and the staff there were disgusting, rude and super fraudulent, they fixed one problem but but broke all other electronic functions.

When i complained about it the manager sucked, and backing up his co worker.

I would burn my car rather than taking it again to that shop.

I drove to this location unknowing that it was by appointment only. I had a tire that was rapidly losing air and had no idea what to do about it. I asked them if they could help but they told me that they couldn’t, and to go across the street to Mr Lube to see if they could help over there. Mr lube was also booked for the day. I sat in my car in the parking lot of kal tire in the pouring rain for over an hour with an almost flat tire making phone calls to nearby places to find someone to help me out. No one could help. One of the mobile mechanics I had talked to asked where I was and if I knew where the puncture was on the tire. After explaining to him that I was at kal tire, he told me that they should at least be able to take a look at my tire to tell me where on the tire there was an issue. He decided to give them a call for me, and asked them to at least help me out with figuring out where the puncture was on the tire considering I’m a young woman and obviously don’t have experience with cars. They wouldn’t even help me with that. Terrible service here.

Staff is rude and very mean to women. They refused to help me and their customer service is very weak.no ethical behaviour.

Ok. I've tried other tire service companies in the area and further. This was definitely the best experience! Booked online, accurate pricing, great service from knowledgeable staff.

Norm and the staff here took care of me first thing in the morning as a drop in with a tire repair. Excellent and professional service, made sure I was taken care of.

Had 3 tires mounted and paid $115 for it. If you generously assume 10 minutes per tire, that's a $250/hour labor rate. I said I was not expecting that price and the salesperson shrugged his shoulders and said something about the guys next door being more expensive still. Not impressed with both pricing and customer service.

James at the Arbutus location was welcoming warm and professional he immediately set aside his tasks to assess the damage and give me options for all scenarios.
He put my mind at ease with a promisse of having the tire fixed and refitted on my car within and hour and the Kal tire tram delivered on that promise. This experience will have me referring Kal tire to anyone and will be my go to if need be.

Norm, the manager, was great to deal with. Had my wheel bearings diagnosed and fixed within the day. He also stayed in touch during the day as he researched and quoted me on the shocks/suspension that needed to be replaced. As the quote kept creeping up due to supply and labour, he kept me informed and left the decision entirely up to me on whether or not to proceed. Great to have people like this in the neighbourhood.

We were just heading out for a long weekend camping trip and realized that the tire pressure on our trailer was low. We headed over to Kal Tire and had a great experience. Despite having a big vehicle, Ash made us feel welcome and took care of the tire pressure. Big thanks!

I asked for some assistance from the sales person at the counter on the evening of July 16th, 2021. I was greeted by Sean Waymen who was extremely friendly, helpful and had a good sense of humour. He informed me the store was closing shortly but my concern could be addressed at 8 am the following morning. He definitely followed his comittment to check my vehicle the next day. His whole mannerism of being approachable, helpful and connecting with customers was wonderful. I'm really glad I went to KalTire. I will definitely return.

Terrible service, un friendly staff and took way longer then i was originally told, also charged me much more than what i was quoted.

I received excellent service at Kal Tire for a puncture repair. The staff were friendly and very efficient. I was told the job would be done in 40 mins but I received a text informing me that it was ready after only 20 minutes.

My wife had a blown tire in Saskatchewan earlier this month and we managed to get the car to a Kal Tire in Regina where we had all four tires replaced, balanced, and an alignment done. (or so we thought). Things were not done correctly in Regina so we took it here and had Norm and his crew look at the problem. The plan was to drive back to Ontario the next day, but with the issues that were created in Regina, Norm had to order parts from Ontario. After a 2 day delay, Norm took care of us and corrected problems that were created in Regina, which allowed us to venture back to Ontario safely. Norm went above and beyond to rectify the problem and even loaned the Kal Tire van to us so we could continue running errands in Vancouver while they had the car for the day. We made is back to Ontario safely and have Norm and his crew to thank.

Seann and the whole mechanic team were so wonderful - they had very quick turnaround times, even for a complex brake job, and they were also extremely friendly and helpful! I felt like they explained everything clearly so I understood and could make an educated decision about my needs. Really heartily recommend them to anyone.

I just dropped by because my tire light came on. I have the drive flat tires and they are very fussy and costly. I thought I would need a new one. Shawn (Sean?) was so nice. He not only checked every tire but he fixed a button that was stuck "on" which was the problem. He could have said I needed a tire if he was shady. Instead, he really took the time and did not charge which SHOCKED me as it took about 10-15 minutes. I encountered at least two employees while waiting and everyone was friendly and professional. I would really recommend this place. I will DEFINATELY be using them for here on! Thank you Kal Tire. I'll be back!

Wow I can’t begin to say how grateful I am for Sean and Norm at Kal tire! I was referred to them by my neighbour and I’m so glad I was. They fixed the power steering and control arm in my 21 year old beater in a matter of hours and driving it feels like an entirely different car now. I’m a grad student and on a student budget and was really worried about the cost and was ready to totally scrap my car for metal, but they helped me find a way to fix what needed fixing to keep it on the road and keep it (and me) safe!

Buy tires at Kaltire! Came in on a Saturday with a flat. Told me they could do it Tuesday but offered to keep it and had it done by the end of the day. Didn't cost anything as the tires were from there. Glad I got my tires at Kaltire.

Went back as a returning customer because I had a nail in my tire. Dropped off the tire at lunch time. Came back after work they put it back on. Then off I went with very little waiting. And they did it for free! The staff was also very kind!

Sean at Kal Tires was exceptionally helpful and friendly when I had a little emergency situation that did not involve tires. I would definitely recommend to others.

I paid $168.00 for a tire swap and to keep my snow tires on rims in thier storage for 6 months which I will repeat this charge amount with my summer tires, but they did not reset my 'tire sensor fault' Now I have this light on my dash that will not go out. Not a happy camper!

Had a flat tire. Used the pressurized patch kit provided by Kia and took it in. Seann explained that the patch kits destroy the tire and the low pressure sensor. I have Nokian WRG3 tires at ~$250 a piece plus the sensor plus labor. I was in for a big hit. Thinking on his feet Seann asked how long it had been since I used the patch kit. It had literally been 12 minutes. He told me he MIGHT be able to save the whole setup.

At the end of the day I walked out with my tire fixed at no cost to myself. Luckily I had purchased those tires from Kal Tire and luckily Seann was there thinking quickly and saving the day. They won my business for life with this.

I had a horrible experience with the Kal Tire on Arbutus in Vancouver (the Dunbar Store, #684 at 2790 Arbutus Street). I was left feeling extremely shocked and disappointed. I feel that I was very nearly misled into paying twice the amount that I needed to, for replacement tires that I didn’t need or want.

I came in last Saturday with a flat tire. I had a spare tire on my car, and wanted to have it replaced. I’m sure it was easy to tell that I needed my car fixed quickly, as it was the weekend and I had my 5-month-old baby with me.

I was told that that they will look at my flat tire, but it was lunch time, so someone would likely call me in an hour. This was fine with me, and I took a walk with my baby. I received a call not long after, and was told:
- That not only do I need my flat tire replaced, I need all four tires replaced.
- When I asked why I can’t just have the flat tire or even just the front two tires replaced, I was told it was because my car has all-wheel drive.
- I was then asked to come into the store to review my options.

When I got back to the store, I was given three options. They were three tire options to replace all four of my tires. One was a cheaper version, one was a set of 3-season tires that were similar to the ones I already had on my car, and the last option was an all-season version. I specially stated that I wanted the 3-seasons, as these were similar to what I already had. The cost, including labour and tax was about $760. I paid a deposit and made an appointment to come in later that aweek (when the tires would be delivered) to have them put on my car.

My husband went to the appointment, and was told a completely different story. He was told that the only reason they could tell why we were getting all four tires replaced was because I wanted all-season tires. However, this was not what I had asked for. On top of this, he was told that if we wanted to keep our 3-season tires, all we needed to replace was the flat one and NOT all four. In the end, my husband replaced the front two tires (the non-flat front tire was replaced due to wear) for a cost of just under $400 (half of what I was quoted).

I feel that I was misled. If it weren’t for my husband coming in and talking to someone else, I would have paid hundreds of dollars more than what we actually needed to pay. I asked specially about replacing just the flat tire or even the just the front two, and was told clearly that I had to replace all four, because my car has all-wheel drive. I can’t begin to explain how disappointed I am. Kal Tire is a neighbourhood store for me, and I’d like to go back if I needed to, but I won’t be misled again. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this store to anyone.

Booked and got a quote online for summer tire swap ($44). The store charged me double for additional service (sensors calib) which I hadn’t consent to and didn’t need. Had to pay double. I was told they don’t care about online quoting and pricing. Disgusting practice of business in store (684 Vancouver store).

Really busy day for them and me and I had a puncture, also no appointment. That was not a problem. I was on my way in no time at all!

In a market of declining auto shops this one is average. If you're patient they're ok. Not the best prices and make sure you clarify what shipping costs mean. I got burned with a set of tires that were "price matched" to Costco with a $20 shipping charge. When I got the bill it was $20/tire. Now I only use them for flat repairs. And maybe the occasional wheel alignment when I'm feeling lucky. But what can you expect from underpaid apprentices trying to run a business?

So I had a flat tire and I brought it to this Kal Tire location few weeks ago. I told the guy working there that the wheel was very expensive, there was no damage on the wheel because it was from car with only 2000 km. I was assured they wouldn't damaged.

Fast forward a few weeks and I finally had a chance to have my car detailed. My detailed pointed out the damage, he said it was done by the mount machine. There's a scratch and a couple indents into the wheel. I'm mad because I explicitly told them to be careful removing the tire. Lucky for me I had taken pictures of the wheel prior to dropping it off, glad I did.

If you plan on bringing your rim and tires to this location be careful and take pictures because they'll probably end up damaging your wheels.

Do NOT listen to mechanical advise from this Kaltire location.

I had my tires changed here (for winter), and a few days later, I noticed the vehicle pulling to one side. I stopped by Kaltire to explain my problem and they said they would take a look at the wheel alignment for me.
A few hours later, they called me up on the phone and stated that they could not change the wheel alignment as the rack and pinion was leaking fluid and needed to be repaired. They referred me to AAMCO next door, who said that the rack and pinion "was leaking like a sieve". They also quoted me a repair of $2,400 and emphasized that it needed to be fixed.

I thought this was highly suspicious as I only bought the car a few months ago with a full mechanical inspection report from a dealership, so I took it back to the same dealership and asked them to look over it for me.

A few hours later, they returned my vehicle and said there was nothing to worry about. The rack and pinion was not leaking at all but merely "sweating", which is a very minor issue and is perfectly normal for cars that are slightly older (like mine). The dealership also aligned my tired for free as the original alignment by Kaltire was not 100%.

Since that time, myself and my partner have driven the vehicle across Canada, from Vancouver to Toronto, and did not have a single problem. I have also asked other mechanics in passing about the problem, and they said exactly what I believe to be true - that this particular Kaltire location is giving false information to unaware drivers so they will pay more money unnecessarily.

I am not going to outright say that AAMCO and Kaltire are scamming people, but I'm sure people reading this review will draw their own conclusions.

My advice: use this Kaltire location for nothing more than purchasing tires - do not take any form of mechanical advice from them. Go to a reputable garage/mechanic and ask them to inspect the vehicle if there is an issue. I have never experienced this sort of poor service from Kaltire before, and I will certainly be purchasing my tires from a different and more reputable source in future. Quite frankly, giving false and costly information to honest customers is shameful.

This Kal tire shop has wonderful service. My SUV tire had a bolt punctured into it. I went to the shop in the morning two days ago, and their manager Norm was very friendly and professional. He also helped me order a new tire right away when he discovered that my punctured tire was unfixable. I got the new tire installed this morning by this team in very short time before I headed to work. Thumbs up. I have only good words for this shop.

Just got charged $36 to fix a tire. $23 for labor and $9.42 for the little rubber plug that was put in (+tax)! This place was my go to for anything wheels related. I guess I will have to find a new place now.

All it takes is one bad experience.

We've gone to this Kal Tire location multiple times in the past and they always did a consistent, stand up job. However, back in October when I went to have the winter tires installed on my Audi, they messed up egregiously - they didn't even install the winter tires on! On top of that, they somehow damaged the wheel lock bolt key in the process. They literally had one job to do and they couldn't even do it right. Waited at the shop for a couple of hours for them to swap the tires (or lackthereof) and hadn't realized until we got home. Case in point, don't trust these people. Better yet, don't even go to this location. I wouldn't recommend it.

We called the store back to speak with the Asian male representative who scheduled me in about the bad experience, but he didn't want to talk us and let a different rep talk to us. We had to order a new wheel lock bolt key from Audi (which Kal Tire covered the cost for). When the vehicle was brought back in the next time around, they successfully swapped out the summer tires for the winter tires. Despite the negative experience, no discount or any gesture of goodwill was even offered. An email was sent to their headquarters about this experience.

All it takes is one bad experience. There's other Kal Tires that are quite reputable that family and friends swear by, we'll have to go to those instead. This Arbutus location? Never again.

Professional service, knowledgeable staff and I have had 2 flat tires so far and both times they did it for free. This is my go to location anything tire related from now on.

Always helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Free air was what got me there, and after two visits to fill up a slow leak, I asked them to look at the tire. They fixed it promptly and only charged me $36! Caveat: flat tires are fixed on first-come-first-served basis, so morning is best. By afternoon, they often have no time to help!

Kal tire has always given me the best service for 20 years. Several years ago i have been storing my seasonal tires with the shop on Arbutus. The best and helpful people ever for 20 years. Thank you Kal Tire on Arbutus in vancouver.

Buying tires from here could get expensive but one cannot find a better price for an alignment in the area. Tom was also very approachable and patient in the front desk with a cute accent. I would come back again for other tire services.

I came in for an alignment and some other small work. Of course, I have an import car that has it’s fair share of quirks! Ultimately they wanted to be confident in the results of my visit and referred me to a specialty shop in town.

In the end, after nearly 2 hours of looking into various problems we weren’t able to resolve it that day. But they left me with a ton of knowledge on what was needed for the car, and some parts are on order.

They didn’t charge for their knowledge and expertise today, but I’ll happily be coming here to get any future tire work done. Very impressed with their service and professionalism. Thanks again guys!

Called in about a flat tire I was missing wheel lock key. Told me over the phone no problem we can take it off. After I had my truck towed to the shop which cost me $80 I was told by the mechanic it was impossible with this particular lock and needed to have it moved to the dealership instead. Now i have to pay over $100 dollars to move it again because these guys couldn't tell me this over the phone. Terrible experience, completely wasted my day and money.

This location fit me in last minute to repair my tires over the weekend, and provided great service.

The workers were friendly enough but a few issues came up this tire swap. For my SUV, they were able to accommodate me the same morning but when I returned to get my tires re torqued, I noticed that 2 of my wheelcaps were missing. They couldn't find it so they suggested I go down to my dealership and get a replacement. Kal Tire reimbursed me for the cost of the wheel cap.

It's a shame you don't get tire swaps for free if you buy tires from them anymore.

Absolute joke of a service! Placed / paid in full for an order for Nokian All weather tires at this location, and they could not deliver.

I originally made an order 3 and half weeks ago. I was promised to receive the tires by the 2nd week. I came in for my appointment, and the tires were not onsite. I was told to check in a week later as they should be in the shop by then. I called, and they still did not have it. Planning on getting a refund as they are wasting my time!

I find the service here is unprofessional as they fail to deliver! I will never deal with Kal-tire again as this experience has been so frustrating.

If you need a tire repair, I wouldn't go here. Refused to fix the tire, but the tire had under 50k on it. Apparently it's a liability issue, but they just want to sell you new tires. Having someone drive off on a spare tire, is a lot less safe. The guy at OK tire, said I had atleast a year and a half of tread left on the tire.

Got my car back like 30 mins before. Excellent service and very friendly staff. They don't rip you off with extra charges and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this place.

In November 2017 we spent $962.39 on new winter tires. In March 2018 we spent another 589.30 for new summer tires. Winter ones were removed and stored and an appointment made in MARCH for re-installation in November 2018. I called to confirm the appointment, they had no record of it. They could not find our account information until went to the shop. With every appointment we have made with this company they have screwed up. They do not have enough staff to deal with the volume of business they try to do and their customer service is really poor. Save yourself time and aggravation and go somewhere else.

They never answer the phone! They have a dumb automated system that always says you have a 5 minute wait remaining but it always takes longer than 5 minutes. So I push the button for a call back and they never actually call back!
