Kanaka is one of my regular go to locations to recharge my batteries in nature. Clean air calm trails. Be aware there is wildlife in the area but it's safe and absolutely gorgeous almost any time of the year. Picnic benches and park benches scattered around and information centers at the beginning. Can't recommend it enough for solo walks, co.pany, family adventures and even trips with your fur baby (puppy dog). Some washroom facilities available and garbage recepticals on trails. Don't leave anything but footprints and take out only what you packed in. Enjoy

Beautiful park for hiking picnics, or just relaxing sight seeing, the rivers, falls and trails are a great escape.

Short and fairly easy. Lots of ups and downs but mostly gravel. Signs well posted. Hatchery at one end and a playground 4km away at the other end. Dogs allowed and my children ran most of the trails.

I grew up in the area, so bringing my son now that he’s grown up and the dogs to a favourite spot of mine for a walk is so amazing! We brought our dogs and they loved it too! Check it out! It’s very peaceful, and across the street is a beautiful trail we have walked along also and got some amazing photos! Check out one of my go to places to get away and listen to the water and the birds.

Gorgeous peaceful place even though you can hear Lougheed highway and the odd long train rumbling by.

I am surprised by how nice this place is. Lots of people so you don't feel isolated. Relaxing walk. Love the river and Rainbow bridge. Great for the family. Some of the pathway looks like it was once a road great for kids to learn to ride a bike on and then there are trails too for dog walkers, hikers, locals.

Beautiful park for quiet walks and picnics. Doesn't usually get too busy. Fish hatchery at one end, and a good kids play area at the other.

Its beautiful, I did see a bear though on the path, and im sure it would of moved on but im a chicken and had to find another way out which took another 20 minutes lol

Great for a long or short trail walk. Pretty flat grounds. I like to bring my grandfather here to walk. Very clean park. Conservation officers check here regularly, no fishing aloud in the tidal lake.

Very well-maintained trails and good value for effort. Canyon Trail has some short moderate sections which are very do-able by someone who is used to easy hikes. Two waterfalls though the viewing points are not ideally situated. Ample parking is available on either end of the park.

Beautiful trails through the forest, with waterfalls and river to view. The trails are a good workout, with alternating up and down sections. Might be a bit gravelly and unwieldy for those in a wheelchair. Dog friendly. Picnic tables available. Lots and lots of bugs in the summer though.

A wonderful park right along the river. Nice path through the trees and a well maintained path along the river.
12 March 2021 16:27
Beautiful forested area that has some hills and stairs. Great area for some fresh air and exercise. Can get very busy, especially since the pandemic.
14 February 2021 15:22
Beautiful little park, wasn't too busy while we were there but I could see it being crazy and a sunny day in the summer.
13 January 2021 10:51
Beautiful park with easy trails. Great for families with young children. Some steeper grades and stairs.
13 April 2020 8:07
Wonderful park for all ages. Easy strolling paths, very little inclines. Dog friendly on leash!
18 March 2020 16:55
Not stroller friendly as there are steps. However it's not too far to the falls from the parking lot. I used a carrier for my 1 year old and my 3 year old had a great time on the trails.

This is one of my favorite spots to enjoy the creek or go for a walk. I often see people walking their dogs or jogging here. The summer time it gets a bit crowded but I always find a spot to enjoy this lovely watery place.

Easy trails and conveniently located. Great for running. Take bug spray in the warmer months. Lots of dogs.
19 January 2020 7:09
Great park with beautiful river and waterfall views. Great for taking pictures and exploring. The trails are well marked and easy to follow. The hike is not too bad, although some inclines and declines. It has not been very busy the few times that I visited. Plenty of parking from multiple entrances.

What a fantastic hidden gem, a great alternative to super busy parks. The 4km trails is along the Fraser river with a spectacular view of the flowing river and mountain range, lots of picnic space (tables) bbqs and open fires are not allowed. The park gates closes at 5pm sharp, however there are ample parking outside the gates (just in case). This was my very first time at Kanata Creek Regional Park, it won't be my last.

Excellent trail network. It wasnt too busy when I was here in the winter making it great for 'just being' in nature.
14 October 2019 7:55
No huge payout as the falls had barely any water flowing however, very nice and gradual trails. The fush hatchery also seems well taken care of.
01 October 2019 16:32
A beautiful picturesque trail, with easy to moderate hiking. There are several inclines and declines, as well as stairs going up and down. This Trail gives a good vigorous workout, but also allows for some beautiful scenery. Photographers should always bring their cameras when entering into this Trail

Great place to hike and relax, easy trails and more difficult. Lots of picnic spots. Beautiful nature scenes.
25 June 2019 14:33
This is a nice park with picnic tables, a grassy area and a stream. It’s located on the same property as a fish hatchery, so you can visit a few ponds with little salmon in them. Great place for a picnic. There are public washrooms too.

Lots of small trails that are well taken care of. Nothing challenging for those who are in shape, but a nice option if you simply want to get outside and move around some.

Kanaka Creek is a very clean park. I have never seen any trash. It's a great safe place to bike along the creek. Enjoy views at the Rainbow Bridge, and my favourite activity to do is kayak up the creek. Take a friend or a dog and soak in the great views!
20 April 2019 8:11
Wonderful waterfront walking path. Ample parking, benches, various water fowl species, and songbirds. Bring your leashed pup and enjoy
14 April 2019 6:51
Beautiful walking trails, great easy terrain for beginners or elderly or those with small children/strollers. Nice views, good photo ops of water, wildlife, and sunrise or sunsets.
06 April 2019 13:12
Awesome trails and waterfall views, the trails said challenging but a couple of short hills is hardly so unless totally couch potatoized.
27 March 2019 18:52
A bit of a hidden gem for a walking trail park with a beautiful small waterfall and canyon for a destination. Slippery due to snow and ice during our visit but clearly well maintained with wide paths and stairs so easily accessible with a 30-40 min loop. Good marked trails. Will definitely be back in the spring.
25 March 2019 19:48
Always a great place to wall the dogs. Reminder though this is not an off leash or leash optional trail. It is patrolled by by law officers fir off leash dogs. Not s good place to take uoit dog swimming or go swimming your self you are walking along the Fraser river after all.
24 March 2019 16:23
A beautiful night for a walk by the river. Lots of parking available and many other people out walking to say hi to.
11 March 2019 1:42
Great little place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Hiking trails are well maintained. There is a bbq place here too. Recommended!
