I used to shop here many years ago when I first moved to Abbotsford and had a bad experience with one of the previous employees, so I stopped shopping for quite some time. I've recently given it another chance in the last 2 months and I have met all new employees and fallen in love with this place all over again. I'm very happy that employee is gone and there seems to be happier kinder people working there again.

I started off going to Carl's Meats out of curiosity and found it a journey into culinary distinction. These spices and variety of culinary add-ons and enhancements are nothing to balk at. The variety is consistent with the quality and the price not to mention the fact that they have any candy, fresh desserts in the freezer, unique and Custom sauces and entrees in addition to high quality fresh meat. Of note I do love the sweet and spicy jerky, it is so good.

I have been going here for years and it is always good. Good meat products and good cheese at a decent price. Lots of Dutch stuff.

My go-to meat shop! Super friendly staff. A lot of Dutch groceries. I don't speak Dutch and know I can inquire about the products, but I love the adventure of not knowing.

I used to go here once a week for stuff. The downhill slide since

karl has retired really shows. I do not shop here anymore. Not

worth the extra effort to stop by. Too Bad Really.

I love the Dutch licorice Dropje's. You can pick out your favourite from the bulk bins. Best meat in town!

First Experience and my last - First impressions are lasting ones and small business need to be aware of that to stay competitive with other business's and the larger companies such as Save-On-Foods.

I called ahead for pork back ribs, arrived 15 min later and was shown where they were being stored. I noticed the sign 1 side $11.49 3 for $30. I decided I needed 4 in total. I went to the counter and said to the female staff members working behind the counter: "I would like to negotiate a price, these are 3 for $30 so can I have 4 for $40 since you are giving a bulk discount? " She didn't' know the answer so asked another female staff members behind the counter who stopped cleaning the slicer and walked over and replied in a very abrupt, condescending and rude way: "No we can't do that, the prices are as listed you will get 3 for $30 and pay the full price for the last one". A bit surprised I said: "Really? Odd as that promotion is for a bulk discount". I asked the original girl to ring it through when she asked if I wanted a bag for $. 0.25. I am sure I rolled my eyes as it seems there is no retailer anyplace that is not prepared to charge you for a bag any longer, as if we all walk around with bags in our hands for every purchase - gone is the day they were provided for convenience and courtesy. So I asked why they were $0.25? She produced a paper bag and replied: "We don't give out plastic bags any longer" I was a but surprised as the meat clearly needed to be in plastic, the wrapping around the ribs was not vacuum sealed and as soon as the ribs would begin to thaw the raw pork juice would be leaking everywhere. I told her I would run to my car and bring in my own bag.

As much as I would have been disappointed they could not offer me the bulk discount for the 4 ribs, had the staff member been polite, courteous and friendly I would have just understood it was store policy. Due to her reply, compounded with the other staff member not providing plastic bag for a produce that clearly required one, is enough for me to never return to this butcher ever! This would never happen if I went to Save-On-Foods, they would have offered to re-wrap the ribs for me on the spot.

If there is a possibility to give them 0, that would be correct review. Service 0, kindness -1000. Only sign "We will rip off you" is missing in front of the store, to complete the impression.

This is a good store with some great European products. Service is hit and miss. They are usually helpful and friendly but every once in a while I hit a sour one. I wish they would spend more time training the girls how to properly slice meats. Overall a good store and I shop there regularly. Years ago when Karl was there all the time service was amazing. I can recommend this deli.

Always buy my meat from here now and they can do specialty orders its great! Awesome staff and Doug is amazing.

Excellent charcuterie, meats and sausages. Great cheese and Dutch / German kitchen staples! A true European delicatessen shop! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Staff was very rude acted like I was inconveniencing them by wanting to purchase items from their store. The food is by far the best meat I’ve ever tasted but I am disgusted by the horrendous behavior of the young millennial women working behind that counter. Still the summer sausage slaps.

Good traditional Dutch deli. Parking is easy. Finding it is a bit tricky. Staff need training on wearing a mask. Plastic face shield does not work.

Just like the Dutch deli's and butcher shops that my parents went to. Great to discover this awesome shop.

I love Karl's Meat. Best place to find Dutch/German licorice, candy and other things. Not to mention a large selection of professionally made meats and cheeses.
