Keating Pizza

I work down the road and come by here a few times a week. Food is great and the coffee is always fresh. Emma the manager always makes an effort to check in and the rest of the staff are great. There is frequently new menu items being tested out and the addition of the dining room is being put to good use. Keep it up.

What happened to this place? Used to get 2 awesome large fresh pieces of pizza for $12, now its up to $15 and there now seems to be less toppings. Shrinkflation perhaps? I ordered two pieces to go recently and asked "what's the freshest Pizza? ". I heard a guy is the back sputter as he turned away from me and said to his co-worker in the back (too loudly) "God what's the matter with these people". I was very upset but thought I would give them one more try last weekend when we were having people over for supper. Ordered 2 Pizzas to go and when I got there to pick up, it was $90 before tip! Not only that, but the pizza had been over cooked and the cheese was very brown and very hard. These 2 Pizza's for $90 were average at best and I am being generous. I have actually had better Costco frozen Pizzas for a fraction of the cost. I am done with Keating Pizza.

I kept hearing about this place, finally got to try it out! Fantastic pizza! I’d say the best in Victoria for sure.

Heavy Duty Slices for Heavy Duty Hunger is an accurate summary. Fantastic tasting and very filling. Love the slice combos as well as their entire pizza menu. The staff are awesome! Did I mention the staff are awesome? They are truly awesome! Always smiling, always helpful and it is catching. Love the coffee too! And recently they added a pretty tasty donair to the menu with the choice of sweet sauce or the tzatziki sauce;-)

Over charged for our pizza and when we returned to ask the manager if we could get a store credit or refund he said it was our fault due to the way the pizza was ordered even though the cashier admitted to ringing it in wrong earlier in the day. Due to preferences we omitted several of the toppings on the pizza the lady at the counter suggested as a vegan option. She charged us for a supreme pizza which ended up only having 3 toppings on it but charged us $41 where as a built your own with same toppings would be $29. When we told the manager, he said it was our fault as we ordered it incorrectly. We used to buy pizzas for our employees from the previous shop here in Fairfield Plaza almost weekly for our workers so it was quite disappointing to be met with aggressive customer service and a "no refund policy once something has been paid for". The guys loved the pizza but due to nonsensical store policies we unfortunately won't be returning.

Perfect lunch stop on bus trip to Butchart Gardens
Riding the 75 bus from the ferry terminal to Butchart Gardens, we decided to make a quick lunch stop on Keating Road. There were two other choices in the small strip mall, but we picked pizza over sub sandwich or taco options. The shop is clean and efficient, with counter service and a small dining area (most people we’re picking up take-out orders for lunch.) There are about 10 topping options on the menu board. My slice of chipotle chicken was excellent - thick, light crust, lots of cheese and sauce, excellent flavor with a touch of spice. Service was fast, but I couldn’t eat it all before we headed back to the bus stop in time to catch the next 75 ($5 all-day bus pass is the way to go!), so I wrapped it in foil and finished it while walking in to the ticket booth at the Gardens. Not from the area, but would definitely make it a regular stop if I was.

Tasty and full-bodied pizza for meat or pepperoni pizzas with extra cheese. Takes care of the appetite for scrumptious pizzas!

Local joint, no one does it quite the same, thick and loaded great flavor and good ingredients. Couple slices or a whole pie as well as other delicious options. Make a stop'

So sad, a one slice of veggie pizza had super thin slices of mushroom and one super thin slice of green pepper and four whole leaves of basil? Thus 1/4 of a very small mushroom, one 32 of an ounce of green pepper, a smattering of very finely crumbled feta on top of mozzeralla cheese, about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp.of feta. The mozzarella seemed to be of inferior quality, no stretch to it. The dough was so thick, not like pizza dough at all, more like bread dough. Also, the rim crust was 1 1/2”. The sauce was good. It was like having a big slice of bread with cheese. Paid way too much.

I had to wait a bit too long for my pizza.
I think they forgot me because when the guy told me my pizza was ready the pizza was cold, very cold. But don't worry I'll be back I really like your place!

This place is a local favourite; heavy duty slices, baked pastas, salads, poutine and fries, great wings and breakfast until 1pm.

There's always a game on the big screens and lots of seating to enjoy a slice and a beer after work.

Used to be great pizza now it’s super salty and super greasy and feels like there is less toppings and cheese now and days I stopped going cause of that reason

Well……I was about to leave a review much like a lot of them here. Was going to load a photo and everything. Long time customer, sorely disappointed last few times…. Blah blah blah. But after reading the responses from Keating Pizza I decided not to bother. Ownership is obviously not interested in replying in a respectful manner. They seem more interested in blaming and speaking condescendingly. One more reason why they have lost my business.

Expensive for average pizza with average sized slices (reviewing by the slice) $14 for 2 slices and a water. Definitely nothing to write home about. Won't go back myself.

Rant!
I was in the store today at 11am.
Ordered two slices of pizza with a drink and chips cost was @$15.00.
Pizza was absolutely terrible! Super dry and tasted like it was reheated from yesterday. I have supported this business for many years but the last two times I've been in it has been the same experience.
I thought this time coming in first thing the pizza would be fresh, unfortunately not.
I spoke to the assistant manager and asked for a refund instead was offered 2 free slices. Unfortunately that's not good enough for being burned twice.
$15.00 is way to much for the quality of pizza now on offer at Keating. To bad as the reputation of this once Saanich institution is now in the toilet.
I certainly won't be back.

They said they raised prices due to food prices going up. Then they opened up the seating next door. I'm sure we would have all preferred cheaper slices then expanding the seating which isn't used much. Us workers have minimal options in keating and they got us by the throat. 6.50 a slice should get you two slices. Sometimes I get a big slice, but normally I get a small slice for 6.50 and thats ridiculous

Long time customer (15+ years) Will never order here again. Called to complain my pizza was missing toppings, staff argued that my pizza was complete.the pizza I had in front of me. Couldn't even accept that someone could have missed something, or perhaps apologize. Said the manager would call, he never did. There must be new owners who are driving this into the ground. I work in the plaza, people always ask me how the pizza is and I'm surprised there is anyone who hasn't tried it. I used to rave about it. Now I just steer people to Peninsula Pizza on East Saanich. What a waste of $30 for a take and bake I cooked myself.
Edit: "trying the decide how to respond nicely"? Very customer centered response. The pizza was missing feta and parmesan, 2 VERY obvious toppings on a CHEESE pizza. You didn't even reach out. You only care if a review makes it here, not if a customer has gotten what they paid for.

I ordered cheese slice for takeaway and reached work turns out to be soggy and very hard to chew. Bad Experience

The absolute BEST keto crust pizza I’ve ever had! The owner absolutely nailed the recipe. Safe to say I’m hooked. Take all my money! Lol

We stopped by for the first time yesterday and had an all meat pizza and a beer.
The staff were very upbeat and friendly they even stepped outside to the picnic tables to deliver our hot pizza and say hello to the puppies.
The pizza was first class.

If I could award a 0 star I would. We ordered 5 pizzas for dinner. Went to pick it up and they "lost" the order. Never returning - be warned!

What happened? Got 2 slices to go today. Just opened them up. Where are the toppings. Keating Pizza is known for its big fat Pizza. I was shocked. Not impressed for 2 slices at 15.00 plus. After reading the reviews. I don't like how owners or management respond to criticism. Not sure what has happened here. But seriously has gone downhill. And maybe you should take criticism seriously. Because if your customers aren't happy they won't return. I for one will tell everyone who use to like Keating Pizza, not to waste their time. So sad.

Totally Awesome! Ok it’s back on the top of the list again! New owners have got it figured out. Just like before it’s perfect!

About 20 minute drive from downtown Victoria, Keating is a beautiful quiet community who's pride is the Keating Pizza place. They have the juiciest Hawaiian pizza I've seen yet. It's worth the drive!

This place is the best anywhere. Awesome staff. Everytime we come we get the presidential treatment. Sometimes gifts. Best tastiest pizza even beats Verns in Kelowna. You guys and gals rock! Thxs Tim and Terri

Bought a piece of pizza today, took it home, awful. So salty it was inedible, added salt on the top? What? It wasn't the regular pizza shape, there was a chunk missing at the point like someone had already taken a bite. Sorry, never again.what a waste, strait in the trash.

Delicious pizza, fast service! Ordered 4 different varieties of pizza by the slice and they were all huge slices and tasted great- a lot of meat, cheese and veggies! Will visit again!

Excellent! We've been looking for a real pizza for ages! This is the real deal. Loads of toppings and cheese, great crust. Pizza like it used to be before the chains.

Craving pizza, I thought I’d try Keating Pizza for the first time. My cell phone was having issues so I couldn’t call ahead. Once there, I was told it would be about 25 minutes for a medium pizza so I chose 4 slices of pepperoni pizza which is the same size as a medium pizza but more expensive - I paid $26.25! Once home we attempted to eat the slices but couldn’t make it past a few bites each. Worst pizza on the island! They use the cheapest “pretend” pepperoni, sliced thick and double stacked - it was vile and actually made me nauseous! The sauce was “passable”, a bit sweet but no bearing on an authentic Italian sauce. Then they piled on cheese overtop everything. The crust was just so-so but there was way too much cheese. An extremely disappointing meal. And it wasn’t cheap either. I will not be returning.

Good pizza & pricing. Although I do miss the other menu items such as the Gyro that are no longer offered.

Over priced. They talk about how large the slices are on the radio and billboard signs but the slices are smaller than the average pizza joint at a much higher cost. $6.50 per slice!

Uniquely awesome working man's pizza! This Victoria icon makes the most heavenly MEATLOVERS pie anywhere. Thincrust wimps stay away.

One of my all-time favorites. This pizza is thick like they make it right and lots of cheese.
I've been going to Keaton's pizza since the late 90s. Feel free to ask them for a take and bake. You can take it home and cook it yourself and no work.

Since the new owner changed the pizza its way worse still not bad every once in a while but not great

Over all pretty good. Slices are big, one should do. Fast and consistent. Ice cream is pretty good too.

This place is awesome, due to covid I am not able to travel over to the island and see my Dad for his birthday. As this is his favourite pizza place I was able to order for him over the phone and they delivered. It made his day! Great (and delicious) community spot!

Amazing pizza, tons of choices, extremely generous toppings, cheese and total size. Didn't weight it but one large pizza is more than enough to feed 6 people. We took ours home to bake later and will definitely do again.

You never have to worry about not having enough cheese on your pizza. This place gets it right on the toppings that will never disappoint.

I got the 2-slice and a pop deal. The slices are HUGE! They are delicious, but next time, the 1-slice and a pop will do.

Good staff, good pizza, sometimes just TOO MUCH pizza. Though the spirit is willing, the body is weak. A slice on the price side if you aren't buying whole pizzas, and you gotta follow the rules to to order out.

I ordered the Mad Greek pizza for the first time. I’ve had their pizza many times and I’m not sure who the pizza chef was on Saturday evening but WOW was this pie delicious!

I love this place! Keating has great pizza and I’m always very happy with the quality of service whenever I purchase from this business.
