Finally was inspired to start reading, and came down to the library and was shocked to see from the dozens of books I had in mind that they had none of them. I had researched the greatest authors and most popular classics from Russia, America, Britain, France. No Les Miserables, No Tolstoy, crime and punishment, no James Joyce or Mark Twain, Lord of The Flies, Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men… I was totally shocked. Not one of any classic books I had in mind, from top ten videos on YouTube or Articles. So they have an exclusive section for LGBTQ books about wee-wee’s right when you walk in the door, but none of the great classics of western literature? I looked around like what is here then? Look at this picture, “raising queer kids and allies. Something is wrong when you have books teaching you how to make your kids gay, and not one classic novel.

Great indoor playground for children and toddlers it seems like.not so great place to study. The building is beautiful and the areas for studying looks nice. However downstairs there are screaming and crying kids running around all day and the acoustics in the building echo those sounds quite a a lot. I even asked to go into a private room to study because of the noise and it was even louder in there than where I was upstairs.not sure if this is just where im from but I thought libraries were supposed to be next to quiet.if you're looking to get work done, I dont recommend this place. I really wanted to enjoy this area but its not for me as a student.

Beautiful building, and they have great rooms to rent if you need to meet up with others for work or school projects. If you're a non-profit, room bookings are free!

I love this location. Super friendly and helpful staff. It's a big library and a large number of books are available most of the time. I am so grateful that i am a member of this library.

Would leave a no star, but not an option. The absolute atrocity that is the Drag Story Time is an absolute disgrace. Promoting mental illness as a good thing instead of telling them to seek help. For a building with many books on gender dismorphia and Identity disorders, you are tragically unaware of them. I would never use the facility for so much as a bathroom break going forward. PARENTS, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

Beautiful library with helpful staff. Great book/magazine selection. The makers space is a great place to do 3d printing or use the sew machine.

Not a bad place. Can get a bit noisy with kids. For some reason it's closed on Sundays in the summer. I guess Sundays aren't for reading and getting out of the heat in Kelowna. Doesn't have nearly the selection and available resources as other downtown libraries.

The staff is super kind and friendly, willing to answer any question you may have. Free Wi-Fi, and bicycle parkade is available too. Chairs are confortable and you can print from the library app. Every print is just 0.25

I love this place! The Kelowna Public Library is a wonderful place to visit. They are always getting new books in that I am looking for. They also have old classics. The building looks modern even though it was built 15+ years ago. It is large, spacious and quiet.

Can't wait to utilize the establishment for what I designed it for with the building attached it will make a great facility for early stage learning 1-5 all the way up to elite minded beings much like myself.
I can't wait to meet you all and see your ideas and capabilities of your mind body and souls
Spiritual alignment.
Its time to evolve without restriction and control wich i am still taking care of.
I apologize for how long this is taking.

Dear students: if y'all are looking into a study space that has a quiet, chill, roomy, and a "focus-driven" atmosphere, the public downtown library is where you would want to bring your books, laptop, and notes. Granted, it's not a huge public library (if you were to compare it to Vancouver's Public Library) but Kelowna's ORL is great enough if you're looking for something different!

Head upstairs to the second floor and sit by the windows facing Ellis St. To me, those art paintings by the wall positively contribute to the overall atmosphere of the studying area. There's wall sockets underneath the window tables for you to plug in your phone, laptop, or whatever it is. Eduroam WiFi in the area + ORL's WiFi is also available. There are printers and meeting rooms on the west side of the second floor meeting rooms.

Not a very quite place to go if you are looking for somewhere to study. Children were running around screaming and the person near me was talking on his phone for the majority of the time I was here. The building is nice though and sometimes it is quiet enough to focus.

The ORL Downtown is amazing. The building itself is gorgeous and I love that ID with my address got me a library card for free. I’ve attended two big events at the library recently - a workshop by Royal Roads University upstairs in the big multi-purpose room, and last night a gala fundraiser for a local non-profit. The main floor
of the library was turned into a dance floor under beautiful patio lights. Food, wine, and dancing. Who can resist partying the library? A lovely building with a forward thinking board & staff.

Washrooms consistantly dirty and occupied by junkies. Weekly instances of tweaker freakouts requiring the police. Rude and agressive security. If you're not there for boardgames than the Rutland or University libraries are cleaner and calmer.
