Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Center

I fell on my hand and was hurt and swollen. I went to this clinic. I was very satisfied with the physiotherapist named Shown Deven. Because I was in so much pain, I thought my hand was broken, but this physiotherapist worked on my arm and after a few minutes my hand was fine. Just like miracle. He is very kind and considerate. Thank you Dr Deven

I have been sitting here almost 4 hours.not looking like I am getting in anytime soon. You may want to go to the hospital.

Medical assistant that answered the phone at 9: 29 on November 21,2023 was dismissive and took a tone when asked how they prioritize client order. I’m expecting miscarriage symptoms and there was no acknowledgment or concern.

I had a very scary experience with Dr. Jamieson. I went in with very heavy bleeding and started becoming short of breath, dizzy, weak, etc. I had been seen in emergency for same and needed repeat bloodwork to make sure my hemoglobin did not continue to drop. When I went in the nurses were so lovely and got me seen right away as I was quite unwell. However, when Dr Jamieson came into the room he told me he didn't think any of this was caused by bleeding and asked if I had any other medical concerns. I have anxiety but I told him it wasn't that. He continued to ask if I am medicated for anxiety and I started crying. I eventually went to emergency and got help there and it turned out my hemoglobin had dropped by nearly half. He is a very unsafe practitioner, bordering on malpractice. If I did not have a medical background for myself I may have went home and been in serious trouble. I tried to find an email to tell the clinic about him but there was one so I thought I'd warn everyone on here.

This facility was initiated during the pandemic to provide urgent care regarding virus first, other medical concerns when space was available.
I have required services there on two occasions. The wait was minimal, 15 to 20 minutes.
Patients are seen in order of urgency not order of arrival.
Excellent treatment by nurse s and doctors.
If the medical isssue cannot be taken care of by your physician, this is a better option than going to emergency at the hospital.
Better equipped than a walkin clinic many issues can be managed during your visit.
Recommend that you call ahead to ensure your particular needs will be met at urgent care. Approximate wait times are not available a

Went this morning and couldn’t believe the wait and overheard a dude saying he’d been waiting four hours already and sick of waiting and left. So, I left too. But if it wasn’t for me being such a stoner, I wouldn’t be going back. But I’m gonna try to go and hope my name finally gets called. Ya nvr know.
Anyway, for the time being while I was there before I found out that had wait 5 hours, they took great care told I me probably needed stitches. So I did go back a few hours later and saw them again and these people are great caregivers. I was checked in, assessed, stitched and sent on my way in less than an hour. All in all, I recommend going here over the ER. Both have great people working tirelessly and professionally, but primary care beats the hospital by a long shot because the wait time is significantly shorter. As long there is not to many people, your best bet is primary care.

Really appreciate all the staff from lady at door, intake desk person, nurse and doctor I saw! It was super busy and I expected a long wait but was taken care of and stitched in less than two hours! Thank you for trying to make a difference in a job that is not easy in a system that needs more support!

Don't waste your time. Just go to the hospital. They call it urgent care but there is nothing urgent about this place.

The staff here showed me a level of kindness today that I haven't seen in a long time. A big thank from me and everyone else you helped today.

Oh Canada! Great health care that cares about human not too much money. My mom visiting Canada, got muscle cramps, was able to be seen physio and got some good treatment info for free. Do u know you can have a physio assessment at there as well? Rehabilitation starts from there. Amazing!

Terrible service. 6 hours wait and no info on how much longer. Tells me could be several hours yet and that if I run next door to grab food I'll lose my place. This system is very broken, this urgent care is anything but. I left after 6.5 hours as without food I felt so much worse this place and it's policies actually made me feel worse. I'd do 0 zero stars if it was an option.

Wait times are awful! You get assest at a decent rate but in order to see an actual doctor it takes hours. Better off going to the ER at this rate. BC health care is failing.

They dont treat you properly when u go first time waiting 6hours to see physician, physician didnt gave me any medication except saying my immunity will fix it and my throat infection get so worse after a week, I couldnt speak or swollow anything at all. I went back again, waiting again since morning 9.30am till3pm and still didnt get checked properly. Like unless patient is dying or fell they wont treat you. Health system sucks here! Doctors will let the things get worse first and then they will start treating u. I have to go to ER where they gave me steroids for my infection. What kind of Health system we are having. It would be better if patients will pay for the treatment so that they; they dont have to wait for getting treated atleast.

Best kept secret! They are polite.professional and the wait time was not bad - it's clean.they had a physiotherapist there that helped me with a pinched nerve.

Worst experience waited 3 hrs went and talked to staff told me I would not get in I could have waited 7 hrs then told I was not going to be seen could of went to any walk-in and had better treatment our healthcare system is a broken joke you get better care in a third world country

Yes the wait times are long but that’s out of their control. Our medical system is struggling. This location is well organized & clean. The staff are friendly and doing the best they can under very stressful circumstances. Be grateful they are kind & there to help!

The man at the front door does a great job of communicating and feels like he genuinely cares. The chiropractor and physician we saw were also very caring and attentive. I will definitely think of this clinic first next time. All the staff were great!

Being new to Canada, and Kelowna I, for one, am grateful for this Clinic. A special heartfelt thought goes to Elliot who was working at the door and having to deal with such disrespect from a certain walk in patient who was provoked by a simple question! It is sad to see how people treat those that are there to care for us. Thank you to the front of house staff and for Dr. Bruce Jamieson who treated me and prescribed the urgent medication I was needing. Yes, you have to wait, but you are seen to. Thank you to all at Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Center, it is comforting to know you are there when urgencies strike!

Amazing service! Super nice people and great wait times, as soon as they found out I was immunocompromised they put me in a separate room to protect me! Amazing staff, so nice and caring!

The staff were all very friendly, long wait but it is after the long weekend. Andrew Brown, the doctor was literally not worth my time. Seemed like he would rather be anywhere else and laughed when I talked about what the nurse told me to do during triage. Absolutely upset at my experience with him and the way he handled our interaction. Everyone else was great.

Very poor service here, took 2 visits and 10.5 hours and only needed perscription refills, then on second visit got drug tested without KNOWING. For 25 years got 3 months refills of same medications but here only got 30 days and narcotics can only be dispensed once every 2 weeks.
Wish my Dr didn't retire.
VERY BAD SERVICE, SOME VERY RUDE STAFF, VERY LONG WAIT, NO RESPECT, WILL CAUSE YOU PTSD, FEEL VERY BELITTLED, I WILL DIE BEFORE I GO BACK THERE TO GET BELITTLED, ABUSED AND WAIT 10 HOURS TO GET THAT KIND OF TREATMENT.

So long to get in, expect at least 5 hrs wait time. All because the Government won't treat the doctors fairly by paying & 35 per visit, can't blame them for schooling for cheap in Canada then moving across the border where they make real money.

I am from out of town and had to go into the urgent care clinic on Friday at 5pm before a long weekend. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially the lady that works at the front door. The glass from my foot was removed and I am able to enjoy my long weekend. Thank you so much!

Clean facility, brought. Friendly, helpful, no nonsense staff. They triage you then place you in line according to their assessment. Fast and professional.

10 min after opening, not busy. See the receptionist, Sit in a waiting room for 30 min, get called back, see a nurse then wait for two hours as 7 people enter a secondary waiting room and are seen before me. Get called to doctos office and wait. Probably standard operating procedure

When I had a sick kid, I got sick waiting. To be checked, you need to wait all day. When you go inside, 4 nurses are sitting and only one working; now you know why we need to wait min 4-6 hours. They let people in as they like. They don’t even give you an estimated wait time or how many people are ahead of you. This is not urgent medical clinic as it is called.

Front staff are polite but do they have any doctors? Hours and hours of waiting. Nothing. Kelowna has no walk in clinics (they all say full and lock doors no matter what time you go) no family Dr's and this place appears to have no one. It's all covid covid covid while people die of minor infections gone wild? I've had better service and care in Mexico as a tourist and for less than lunch $. Am I in Venezuala? Nope Okanagan which is worse for medical care.

They actually care about you! They don't treat you like another soul that just walked into their job, they actually are there to help you.
Kind, knowledgeable and caring staff, I prefer this place out of any other urgent care ive been to.

Was swiftly taken back and taken care of, It’s hospital level care without the stress, wait time and chaotic-ness of kgh. My tip is to try to go at opening to ensure fast care.

5 hours waiting with a severe ear infection. All walk in clinics Kelowna and Westbank were booked. Had no meds with me as I wasn't expecting this long of a wait. Several people were told after hours of waiting, that they wouldn't be seen by a doctor today. I ended up having to go home as my own pain had reached a level I'd never experienced in my 58 years of life. Staff was great, just wasn't any. What a waste of tax dollars. Either make it an actual urgent care center or close it. This provincial gov has basically sucked the "life" out of medical care. Ridiculous taxes paid in this province with services diminishing continually.

First time going to this clinic this morning. Very friendly staff, quick to be helped. Very impressed. Will definitely go here again.

Have used the facility a few times since it's opening. The staff is always polite and efficient, the greeters at the door is friendly and helpful. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but always so much shorter than a hospital visit. They have many health care staff of varying specialties, but with Covid, they are sometimes not always available. The doctors that have treated me have always been kind and thorough.
