Five stars! I had an exceptional experience at this veterinary hospital. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and attentive to my pet’s needs. The facility was clean and well-maintained, creating a comforting environment. The veterinarian provided clear explanations and treatment options, making sure I felt informed and involved in my pet’s care. I had my dogs teeth cleaned. The best care I could hope for. The price was not a shock and will keep coming back.

We take both our cat and dog here. Our cat, who is a very anxious little guy, and doesn't like most people, absolutely loves everyone in the clinic, and I fully trust them with him. Our dog is 10 months old, and recently caught kennel cough, and they were able to get me in for a quick appointment, and were so kind and understanding with her. And, Dr. Craven is an absolute gem. We like this vet so much, that we drive in from Burnaby to be able to see them!

I haven't had to visit for some time, but its the only animal hospital thatl I have heard all positive feedback from. Doesn't matter who you see, every employee is awesome.

This review is exclusively for Dr. Michael Dodds. Staff was friendly but clearly had their hands tied by the overlord. Dr. Dodds thinks he is gods gift to earth & the only proper vet in the modern world. Dr. Dodds charged us over $120 extra in travel services and medication that were not needed and then refused to sign the documentation because god himself did not perform our dogs Neuter, and puppy vaccinations. We then went to another vet and had the paperwork signed in 5 minutes. We were also forced medication on us that we did not ask for. Our shippers had "never in 8 years of professional service had a vet decline service in this way". In his professional nature he then also refused to see us again and would not speak with us, rather had the staff convey to us to "We cannot refund as Dr. Dodds has indicated that these services have been performed" after we had paid them the $400. Atrocious experience and avoid Dr. Michael Dodds at all costs.

Really quick and good service for a guinea pig mail trim. I found the price a bit high ($39) but I’m guessing that’s the usual for these types of nail trims.

I went there a few weeks ago to have my cat’s ears and eyes checked up. After the exam, the Dr. Prescribed an ear drop and an eye drop. The bill came out ridiculously high. I got the ear drop and I told them that I would pick up the eye drop later since I wanted to first make sure it wasn’t the same one I had at home. Life got busy and I called them 3 weeks later that I would be picking up the eye drop. But they refused and told me that I needed to do another visit since it was a month after the last visit which it wasn’t! They only care about the money, not only they overcharged me the first time, they expect me to pay at least $90 for another visit to get the medication that was already prescribed!

I’ve been a regular client at Kerrisdale vet for four years and counting, the staff are incredibly helpful, nice, and professional. I would highly recommend pet owners to bring your pet here for their services!

Took my cat to see Dr. Dodds as she was having diarrhea and our regular vet was closed. The receptionist was quite standoffish and didn’t even greet me upon arriving (once the appointment finished I stood at the desk for 10 minutes waiting to pay without even an acknowledgement). Once we got into the appointment it seemed like he had other things to do as it was so rushed. There was no physical exam and no questions/testing even offered to find out the root cause. In and out in 15-20 minutes, there was very little compassion towards my cat and he also didn’t bother to tell me how long the medications would take to be in effect. Decent enough vet, but so rushed and didn’t feel like they even cared.

I truly love Dr. Michael Dobbs and the staff. I haven't been the nicest but they have always made it right. I recommend this place.

I've taken my puppies here for their vaccines and 1 other time for medical attention. We've since then moved out of town and have tried multiple times to request for their medical records to be sent to our new vet, our new vet even put in a request and we've received nothing.

Proceeded with an operation without our consent or prior warning of cost. Never let us in the clinic to speak to a vet face to face. After we decided to move to a new vet, it has taken 4 attempts for them to send our vet records to our new vet. Luckily our new vet has friendly receptionists (wow!), allows us in the clinic and doesn't just crack on with anaesthetizing our dog without running it by us first. Good luck!

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ll never go back. I took my rabbit in for a check in since I noticed some unusual behavior. The doctor said she was fine and healthy. 2 months later, I took her back in because I noticed she wasn’t doing well. He said that she has had a tumor for the past year and needs to be put down immediately. Tell me how the same doctor felt something immediately and didn’t feel it 2 months ago?

Doctors are great except for one rude repceptionist Nicole. I have been here since years and years but SO disappointed today with this particular staff. My dog have been suffering from corneal ulcer and went to emergency last week. I guess she called in to book second visit consultation to have recheck done. However, she was not even clear why she called and even thought she called a wrong number. I was very confused by that time so I called her back asking did you try to book second visit with my dog? After I called back she knew what she was supposed to do.

On the consultation day after I have spoke with my doctor, I forgot to ask one question. So all I asked was "when can my dog take a bath and should I keep giving him medication? " and the reply was doctor is busy and just ask the emergency. I was so shocked by her unprofessional reply.
Why would I come here and pay for consultation then? Also because she is not trained properly and due to her miscommunication, she charged me $100 more on the invoice. I explained to her I should be just charged for consultation today, then she rolled her eyes and just stood there without explaining anything. I was so upset and asked for another staff who has been always helping me and considering. And problem solved. Please train your staff properly.

I really wish I could give more than 5 stars to Dr. Chen and assistants at KVH. I can’t even count how many times we have had our puppy in over the past 8 months and every experience with them has been wonderful. Our dog actually gets excited to go to the vet! We honestly do too, we learn so much from our calls with Dr. Chen. She takes the time to really listen to your observations before offering treatment options. She also asks for update emails to track progress. Her service standards are so above and beyond anyone else. The pricing is fair and you’re not automatically given the most expensive treatment plan, although it is presented as an option. I feel like Dr. Chen provides a lot of value added during her exams. It’s also nice to have a vet with a border collie since they are a “special” kind of breed:)

If you can handle a phone call on speaker phone in your car, the covid policies are not inconvenient.

They always take great care of our dog, both when he's getting checked out or being boarded overnight. Wonderful people and very reasonable rates

Update: Very bad experience with their staff! We took our dog recently here for his nail trim and heard him cry while at it. When we asked the assistant if he got hurt, she told us it was nothing. Afterwards we noticed his nail bleeding.
When we called up the clinic today to let them know, the woman on the phone was completely unapologetic. This is what she said "So what do you want us to do about it? Its very common for dogs with black nails to get them cut / bleed. "

Really, is that what you tell your customers? I am beyond shocked with this response! We have been taking our dog for nail trims for years now and believe me this is NOT common! I am not complaining about the nail injury, I understand thats minor. But this behavior with customers is not acceptable!

A month back I wrote a really good review about my experience with their doctors and that still holds good.

Although everyone there seemed experienced and sweet I had a assistant there tell me my boyfriends dog should be euthanized due to his breed and that he (out of stress) nipped on someones finger. I guess when a dog is stressed they deserve to die? Thank you Rachel for your expert advice. I will not be returning - I'll also make it known that you chose to kill instead of encouraging training or working with my pet.

My first great experience at a vet! I wasn’t pressured to get needless additional tests like other local vets. They fixed the problem- simple solution that didn’t cost me a fortune. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. An overall perfect experience in a stressful situation.

I've tried giving Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital a chance, but I will not be back. Yes, the veterinarians (and the staff who work in the back) are friendly, professional, and compassionate. However, the woman who answers the phone/works the front desk (receptionist?) could brush up on her interpersonal skills. She says as little as possible, makes little to no eye contact, and answered questions about my bill with absolute disdain. She gives the impression you are bothering her by walking in the door with a sick animal! There are hundreds of vet clinics in this city. Sadly, I will not be visiting Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital again. Good front desk staff are essential to any well run business. I think many business owners forget just how important it is to make a good first impression, and maintain positive rapport with clients.
