Kersten Orthodontics McKenzie: Dr. Gerald Kersten

My dentist referred my daughter to Kersten Orthodontics. I was dreading the appointment because I thought we'd go in there and get the hard sell for braces. I couldn't have been more wrong. First, we met Carrie, Dr. Kersten's assistant. She had the X-ray of my daughter's teeth from our dentist already on her screen. She was friendly and welcoming and gave some excellent explanations when I asked a few questions. Then, Dr. Kersten arrived and looked at the X-rays and my daughter's teeth and said that she almost certainly won't need braces. It was clear that he was giving us the advice we needed, not the advice that would earn him more money. That immediately raised my level of trust enormously. For good measure, Carrie gave us a quick tour of the facilities and we saw the open and friendly area where kids were getting their braces adjusted. Far from the scary torture-chamber image I had in my mind, it looked almost like a lounge in a cool company where some orthodontics just happened to be going on. Looks like my daughter won't be using those services, but if she did need them, I wouldn't hesitate to bring her to Dr. Kersten. I'm going to give my dentist a big thanks for this referral.
