Kettle Valley Beach Resort

There wasn’t anyone working on site so there wasn’t anywhere to get ice. Nice updates rooms though and the fire pit was great.

Location was awesome. Room was cute and clean. A friend and I came from out of town to see a show at the SOEC and stayed here. It was a good price and decent walking distance. We picked it because there were a couple pubs/restaurants on the way.

Only downfall was it was very noisy. There happened to be a group of people having a fire in the courtyard not too far from our room. It went well past midnight. I’m not sure if the people lived there seasonally or what. But I found that kind of strange.

We had a fantastic stay! We hit it in the off season when penticton was quiet. The prices were great and the KVR is a great place to enjoy it from! Older heritage hotel with nice fresh upgrades. We loved it.

We were so pleased to find this gem amongst the many motels in Penticton. Although this property has a long history, the new owners have beautifully updated the rooms and created a welcoming and relaxing vibe with the outdoor space. The contactless entry worked well for us and felt like an Airbnb. The fire pit, patio seating and bbq’s make it easy to relax outside your room. The owners are open about the property having old bones and disclosed the hot water takes a bit of time to warm up but that was a minor issue for us. We will be back.

I had a great stay! Stayed 3 nights mid October. Perfect location directly across from the lake, walking distance to explore area and downtown Penticton. The room was very clean and comfortable, very quiet. The self checkin is a very nice feature. Pulled right up to my room to park so easy access to unload my bags and pack up when leaving. The Staff follow up by text message to make sure everything is ok so I know someone is available to reach if I need anything. I will definitely stay here again. This will is my new favourite place to stay in penticton. I definitely recommend.

We were only supposed to stay for the weekend but our plans changed and they were very accommodating. Check in/out is extremely fast and easy, they also checked in on us as soon as we were checked in to see if everything was okay and to let us know how to get in touch if we needed anything, they go above and beyond! The rooms were very clean and well prepped for short and long term staying. We will definitely be staying here again!

Simple, clean rooms at a great location! The beach, bistros and restaurants are accessible within 5 to 15 mins walk. I can't stress enough about the location, everything is so near! Although simple, they did provide Netflix, Youtube and WiFi, offering better entertainment for the kids than some hotels I've been. The only thing I would complained is the water pressure. When we took our baths, the water would slow down to drips of water. I had to turn the tap off and wait a few moments before turning it back on. I understand it is a freshly renovated old building, but it would be great if they can fix the water pressure. Oh, they do not have designated parking but there are plenty of parking space within the compound. Despite that, I definitely would stay at this place again when I visit Penticton in the future.

My room was a good size. Everything is newly renovated and looks really nice. The bed was comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet. My only issue was the very noisy AC that had to be kept on due to the heat. It sounded like I was in a jumbo jet. The patio is a nice spot for coffee or a glass of wine. Plenty of parking. I liked the BBQ and fire pit area. Lots of spots to sit, although it was too hot and dry for the fire pit and there is a fire ban on.
The beautiful clean beach was literally across the street and there's a great cafe/restaurant with a big patio and there's happy hour every afternoon. There are several other restaurants close by but make sure you get a reservation at least the day before as they fill up fast. Salty's is my favourite. Lots of activities nearby for kids at the small adventure park.
Walking paths are also close.
Loved staying there and I will definitely book again next year.

Stayed during a work trip, Shelly and Kendra were super responsive and the room is nicely updated. Very quiet and convenient beach access. Shower is low pressure but the amenities in the bathroom are good Wifi is strong and TV had Netflix which was lovely. Would absolutely stay again.

The view of the lake is incredible. The four bedroom suite was perfect for our large group. We’re always happy with the service while booking and during our stays. They’ve done a beautiful job of creating a bright beach vibe with the rooms.

My husband and I needed to spend one night in Penticton and we are so glad we chose this spot! Location location location - I cannot explain how great this location was.

Recently renovated, we were very happy with the amenities and the property is beautifully maintained and clearly a lot of thought and love has gone in to making this place what it is today! We will certainly be back.

Who ever owns this motel should be paying their employees top dollar! It may be older but Kendra and Shelley made it perfect. They went out of their way, many times, to accommodate the many private issues we were having. It’s been a long time, if ever, Ive seen such amazing compassionate assistance. We will be back and will definitely recommend this quaint little motel to all. Thanks again Ladies. Also please pass our thanks on to your staff as they too were at our door within minutes of requesting help!

Beautiful newly renovated rooms. Very clean. Brand new soaker tub. The bed was very comfortable. We were amazed how beautiful the place is. Just across from the lake and close to many amenities and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. Service was great and quick reply to any questions or concerns.

Hotel was clean and aesthetically nice. The restaurant attached had good food staff were wonderful and the location of being right across the street from the beach hard to beat

Hands down, the most comfortable and well decorated spot on the beach. Fantastic setup, relaxing, and great outdoor seating options. Interiors are all brand new.

We went to Penticton for a hockey tournament. KVBR made checking in super simple. The rooms were super clean and modern. The staff checked in via text regularly. It was a wonderful place to stay!

Super cute, cozy and you cannot beat the location. Walking distance of the water and lots of little cafes.

We checked in via text and code to enter the room. Nobody is around to help with items that don't work in the room for instance the TV. Who do you call? No way to get hold of anyone. Had we known nobody would be on the premises we would never have booked. Is this how motels are booking now, via robots?

I highly recommend this resort. The staff are awesome, so friendly and inviting and the location can't be beat. The rooms have been renovated and are perfect for what you need.

Shelley and Kendra were amazing hosts for our vacation in Penticton. Perfect location right across the street from the beach. We will definitely return.

Graced with a lakeside view and a beach 30 seconds away, the Kettle Valley Beach Resort stands out among the offerings in Penticton. Newly renovated rooms are comfortable and the hotel is within easy distance of the Okanagan’s best wineries. Above all, the hotel has a very attentive and welcoming staff, which greatly enhanced my experience. Check out Elma, a memorable Turkish restaurant next door, that is among the best Turkish restaurants I’ve experienced outside of Turkey.

Had a very pleasant stay at the KVBR. Seamless check-in, location could not be better and nice looking renovated rooms. Staff sent a text throughout our stay letting us know if we need anything they are only a text away! Reasonably priced. KVBR will definitely be at the top of my list when taking our next trip down to Penticton.

This motel is under new ownership. There was a really large renovation. If we had any concerns or questions, they were addressed as soon as possible. There are still issues that need to be addressed and these are going to be presented to the new owner. Wonderful people work at the motel: Kendra, Shelly, JP, Jonathan, Mary and Evelyn (I’m sorry I don’t have the correct spelling of her name). I apologize if I missed anyone! Lattes were available at the new restaurant at this motel. Very important to someone from the land of espresso stands! That would be very important to people from Washington state! Lol!

The resort has been totally updated since we were there last year. Beautiful job! We will be back

Amazing facilities and service. Our friends stayed nearby and the difference in cleanliness, service and facilities was crazy.
The host stopped by to chat when she saw us to check up and tell us about local spots. The bbq and fire pit area was fantastic.

We had a fantastic time. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. We cannot wait to return.

Our stay at the kettle valley beach resort was excellent. The location, directly across from the beach and close to restaurants and parks was perfect. The room was spotless and the beds super comfortable. Although close to everything the rooms are set back from the street and surprisingly quiet. I would definitely recommend KVR for your stay in Penticton.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary. We picked this hotel because of the close proximity to the water and what looked like really nice rooms. However, we were very disappointed with our stay here. The hotel has recently been renovated to make it appear nicer than it actually is. However, the renovations don't go much beyond fresh paint, linens, and accessories.

Reasons not to stay here:

- bugs! We were constantly killing bugs that came into the room from under the baseboards (apparently silicone isn't needed for a hotel facelift). Our floor was gross by our last day by constantly having to kill spiders, woof bugs, and ants with our shoes. I'm not exaggerating when I say we killed over twenty in a five minute window.
- Cleaning: the hotel doesn't clean your room during your stay in an effort to conserve water. I get this with sheets/towels but at a beach 'resort' sweeping floors (especially when they're covered in bugs) is important. The room was also not cleaned well when we first checked in. There was hair left from previous guests in the shower and on the bathroom floor when we checked in.
- hot water: although they conserve water by not giving fresh linens they recommend that you leave the water running for 5 minutes in order to get hot water.
- coffee: this is a very minimal complaint in the grand scheme of issues but the coffee offered is instant coffee. For $300 plus a night an actually coffee maker would have been nice.

So learn from our mistakes and book somewhere else

For our annual large family getaway we spent last 4 nights at the Penthouse of the Kettle Valley Beach Resort and it was nothing short of amazing. The space accommodated us so well with the bonus of an amazing view and amenities right on the main strip. We had kids ranging from 1 to 5 years old and everything about the place and the location was perfect for all of us!

The design and aesthetic of the penthouse was so beautiful and relaxing and the managers were so receptive and accommodating to all our needs! We are excited to be back in hopefully the not so distant future!

Stayed for a weekend getaway with our 7 month old. Perfect Location. Super modern design, fantastic appliances and extremely clean room and amenities. We will most definitely be back!

Judging by the experience and the reviews on here it seems as though they have lots of family and friends staying/writing reviews. Don’t stay here. Location is great but that’s about it.

I recently had a great visit to the Kettle Valley Beach Resort in Penticton BC. The motel has had a full facelift! The spacious rooms have a retro beach feel complete with amenities; coffee, hair dryer, smart TV, shampoo etc. Check- in was a breeze with the use of a keypad system (code is texted to you before arrival). The staff that I met were super friendly and helpful while we were planning our stay. The Kettle Valley Beach Resort is located right in the heart of the main drag, on Lakeshore Drive, right across from the beach. Fantastic restaurants are steps away from the motel, coffee shops, bakeries and breweries are a short walk away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a funky get away!

We recently stayed in their Penthouse Suite. It’s a 4 bed (3 queen beds, 1king) 2 bath unit and worked well for our family and the young kids. The wrap around deck overlooking Okanagan lake was throughly enjoyed. The large back deck provided a nice area for a big family dinner for 10 of us. The bright, open floor plan and decor is pleasantly appeasing. The built in air conditioning made for nice break from the Okanagan heat. The staff were super nice, helpful and accommodating.

My only suggestion and it’s totally personal to my experience would be a baby gate of some sort at the top of the staircase that is located outside the unit for those who have small children and perhaps a Highchair. It didn’t change our amazing experience we had and we plan on booking here again next year.

What a cute, newly renovated motel. Quaint! It is located right across from the beach, there is a place to sit together with friends around the firepit! The rooms are fresh with great design. The attached restaurant has the best patio in Penticton!

My sister and I were impressed with the location, view and cleanliness of the penthouse suite. The beds were more comfortable than the ones we have at home. The staff at the resort were available and ensured we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back!

Our stay at Kettle Valley Beach Resort was more than we hoped for!
We had been alerted to their “working out bugs” in preparation for opening. We didn’t notice.
Everything was great: from booking, easy keyless check-in and out, to a quick response for every request.
The location is premium, right by beautiful Lake Okanagan, and near really good restaurants.
The area offers so much: biking, hiking, water activities, wineries and lots for kids to do. We can’t wait to return!
