KFC

We came in today around 8: 20pm and the store says they are closed at 9pm.
We tried to open the door and its locked? Worst KFC ever.there are two workers inside and they just look at us from.the inside. No wonder.this KFC has the worst review ever.

The chicken was supposed to be big crunch on sandwich, it was flat as a pancake and they put so much mayonnaise on it couldn't eat it

The fries in the pouting were barely cooked

Would not go back again

Chicken good and fresh fries were what they always are but the gravy was so watered down it wasn’t even remotely like kfc gravy…. Super disappointed in this location after only being there once! Won’t be coming back ‍️ I recommend not making the gravy into soup just saying!

The worst, no flavour like it used to be, staff are lazy, waited to long. Never again. This was my second time, first time I ordered a chicken poutine, get home NO CHICKEN. No one seems to take pride in their work or customer service. I could vote neg stars I would
CLOSE THIS PLACE UP ITS RUINING THE KFC REPUTATION. Get new owners they don’t care.

The chicken was hot and crispy. The fries were a little "limp" but the gravy made up for it. Overall it was decent.

Arived at 6: 30 pm on a Friday!
Only to be advised 30 minute wait for chicken.
Do they have to grow the chicken before they cook it?

Blunt customer service, food was warm and covered in copious amounts of mayo. Chicken was very tough, dry and seemed unseasoned. Dining area was very messy. Not eating here again

HORRIBLE. Decided to give it one last try. Not only did they screw up my order (om not picky it's medical reasons) but refused to make it right. When I got upset the person just stood their smirking. Trying to dial the store and keep getting sent to voicemail.

Also while prepping the food the "person" taking cash went back into the kitchen with same gloves on and came back to the front, took more cash, then went back to the kitchen and continously prepped food. There were two "people " working in the back. On on his phone and one just staring the greater.

Meanwhile a line up of 7 had formed behind me.

Gross, rude never happening again.

Service is horrible at this location. The food is typical over greasy chicken. KFC has really gone downhill.

This location is filthy. Will never go here again. The staff that took our order was on her cell phone while she was taking it. Then it was about 5-8 min while all staff disappeared. And then one came out of somewhere and started making our food. There was garbage everywhere. Instead of filling their condiments. They just have them spread over the front counter.

Very disappointing. We were so happy to have KFC back after all these years but it was terrible Totally dried out and no flavour. Won’t go back

Chicken was good made to order and timely. BUT they need more staff the tables are always dirty and i can see theres no one cleaning the floors during the day around the fryers, just fries etc everywhere (not dirty just messy for now). Even 1 extra person to keep the place clean would be great staff will get burnt out othewise.place is still new so hopfully they can tighten everything up

Lousy outfit I went with my wife at 7 pm and myself and the customer in front of me were told they were prepping the chicken and it wouldn't be ready for 1/2 hour. Went back 1/2 an hour later and was told they were out of chicken. I have heard of them running out of chicken 3 times previously, not a good record for a business only open for a month. I can't wait for Popeye's to open in Courtenay as we will never be going back to as shoddily run outfit as the Courtenay KFC and I will be sure to tell everybody I know.

Don't go there. As simple as that, wait for Popeyes, atleast the food will be worth the half hour wait.

I was glad to hear a KFC was opening in Courtenay. However, it was not the kentucky fried chicken I know.
After being open long enough to get on track, all I can say is Disappointing. I would say it was missing 9 of the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices. It was tastless and some of the pieces were either soggy and others seemed like they were sitting under a heat lamp for a while, or tossed in the fryer to reheat, even though they were busy. The coating was thin and bland.
Like so many of the KFC franchises, the owners are cutting back on the legendary coating or extending it with cheap flour or cornstarch, and lowering their quality of chicken to increase their profit$.
They open up, make a pile of cash for a few months until many figure out they are getting shorted on taste and quality, and no one wins in the end.
Maybe they ran out of the coating mix like they ran out of gravy? Lol
It took 15 min.just to order but the dear girl at the front was doing her best. Sure they are understaffed that is understandable, but I blame the owner for the bad KFC.
I've seen several KFC store owners have to sell or go under on the mainland, because they think people who grew up eating and loving KFC, won't taste the difference, or will settle for less.
Of coarse those who don't know better might come back, but this owner better be careful.or one day he too will wonder where all the customers have gone, and getting them back won't be easy.
We used to get our occasional KFC fix 50 km away in Campbell River, and that is where we will be going again. Hopefully they are not taking lessons from this owner.

Its fried chicken lol. It was busy but i didnt expect it to be fast, give it a week or 2 to die down and i shall try again:), staff was great they handled that rush very well.

Was not impressed by the chicken sandwich as photo shows it was 90% hard batter, no meat inside the batter

Stood behind 6 people, waiting to get their order or place their order but no one at the counter... I could hear people talking in the back but paid zero attention to customers.
When she did appear, it was like we were annoying her.
I left. They will NEVER receive a dime from me, ever and I will be letting everyone I know about their outstanding customer service.
Absolutely pathetic.

We ordered eight pieces of chicken and fries. The chicken is the worst I have ever tasted at a KFC anywhere. It was dry tasteless, no seasoning. Would have to be pretty desperate to go back. The tables are dirty, and the good news is Popeyes is opening down the street in about a month. I wish I could give a better review. Not possible.

We did 2 tentatives to get chicken, both time we waited 15 minutes before someone talked to us. Some people were saying they had been waiting for 40 minutes for their food.we left both time. I understand that the place just opened and they might be short staff but it is not off to a good start.

Rudely refused to serve me 25min before closing after waiting 5min just to be told no more orders.

This was our first visit to the new outlet, although it was a 20 minute wait our food was good.

The staff were friendly. The sides were good. The dining area was not very clean (to be fair it was the dinner rush). The main dish, the chicken, was greasy and the white meat was quite tough and dry. Which especially added insult to injury when I was given mostly white meat, after they agreed to give me mostly dark. I will be waiting a while to go back, to give their cook staff time to learn how to properly cook and identify chicken pieces. I would give them 2.5 stars if that was possible.

Took 15-20 min of waiting 1st / 6 people in line just to take my order, then took another 15 min just to get food, while waiting all I can see and hear are the staff talking, the tables and floor dirty.definitely gone down hill in the short while since opening. Not sure if these wait times are typical but regardless not okay in my book.

Well pretty average. Just.well.kind of a let down. Fries luke warm, chicken bland but tender enough, forgot my dips and didn't have the drink that was ordered so needed a substitute. Would have given a 2.5 star if that was an option.

I just completed a meal from the KFC in Courtenay. The meal was absolutely terrible. KFC original recipe flavor no where to be found. The chicken was tasteless and the gravy tasted like chicken soup. I love KFC, my mother was a KFC manager for 3yrs so I'm a little confused. This tasted nothing like any KFC I have ever tasted. Original recipe flavor should be the flavor of at least the gravy. Come on KFC.
