Khaghan Restaurant Downtown

I went there during COVID on Christmas Day and they were not following COVID protocols at all! Not only did they not use shields in between tables, they also had not left any space in between the tables. The distance between our table and the one behind us was maybe half a meter. It looked like they had no maximum occupancy and customers would keep rushing in. They only had one server working the floor and she seemed very overwhelmed. Other than that, the food was good but we did not feel safe there.

I strongly recommend this fantastic Persian restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious. We went there twice; the first night, we had Loghme kevab koobideh and Soltani; we were so impressed with the food, the service, the atmosphere and especially the homemade dough that we decided to return the next day. The second time we ordered baghali polo, as we could tell it was super delicious. Now, I am determined to go there once in a while because I really couldn't get enough of the food, the homemade dough and eggplant pickle.

It's great that the food was delicious, but the delay from ordering to serving was a bit disappointing.and also the foods, were pricey. I hope there will be improvements in service speed and price in the future. Commending the excellent staff, especially Traneh and Sara, reflects their dedication and professionalism. The quality of the food was very good, their communication with the customer is very good and they take good care of them.

Great food.non-existent customer service. They need to understand and learn to treat customers with respect. Their prices was too high given the poor customer service. Won't be surprised if the go out of business in near future.

I had an amazing dining experience at this Persian restaurant in downtown Vancouver. The food was authentic and bursting with flavor. Our server Zara was exceptional, providing attentive and knowledgeable service. I highly recommend this restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience. 5 stars!

I‘ve had the worst food of my life. The kebab didn’t taste good at all plus the meat was not pure…. I could tell they add stuff to the meat like bread crumbs and stuff so they can get more weight out of it which I call it cheating…and I wasn’t satisfied with the service at all…

The food is good, but they seemed very disorganized - maybe I went during a shift change - not sure (4.30pm on Sunday).

* I tried calling for pick-up; their answering machine was full.
* Went there in person, ordered a Soltani, paid for a Soltani
* They gave me a paper bag of food, as I was leaving I asked her just to make sure it was a Soltani she gave me, the lady indignantly replied yes - I was too embarrassed to check myself.
* Got home and realized it was a Vaziri - was too tired to go back

A Disappointing Experience at Khaghan Persian Restaurant

I recently had an unfortunate dining experience at Khaghan Persian Restaurant, which I would categorize as one of the worst I've encountered, and quite possibly the worst in Vancouver. While the restaurant's exterior appeared inviting, with its clean and attractive facade and large windows, the positives ended there.

Upon entering, we noticed only one other table being served, yet it took a considerable amount of time for the server to acknowledge our presence. Despite her pleasant demeanor, her lack of promptness was noticeable. When we inquired about available drink options, we were informed that no scotch was available. Only after further inquiry did she mention a limited selection of wines, but her knowledge about them was woefully inadequate.

To add to the disappointment, the constant loud talking emanating from the kitchen proved to be a significant annoyance throughout our meal. The lack of attention to detail extended to the restroom as well, which was a complete disaster. The deplorable state of cleanliness, with cobwebs covering various areas, a clogged vent caked with dust, and an overall unpleasantness, left me reluctant to continue dining there.

Following our meal, when asked about our feedback on the food, we could only describe it as average. However, it was disheartening when the server candidly admitted, "I don't like to eat here" when we inquired about her personal opinion. Considering our overall experience, I strongly advise against trying this restaurant, as it falls far short of expectations. Khaghan Persian Restaurant simply isn't worth the visit.

It was great atmosphere in the restaurant. Elnaz was our server. She is very energetic and helpful. The food quality was good.

The bone in chicken is very burnt and had a bitter taste. However, the beef is very tender and juicy

Was there on January 1st. First of all they did not come to get our order for 30 minutes, when I asked the reply was that they forgot. The waitress took the order and disappeared. Waited over one hour and asked for manager. One of waiters pretending to be manager came still our order was not done.
Had issues with food before.
Not recommending this place at all because of food safety and very poor service.
Avoid going here.

My family and I occasionally travel from Washington State to Vancouver. We have visited practically all Persian restaurants, and Khagan was without a doubt the greatest overall. My family and I have visited Persian restaurants in downtown and north Vancouver, and this one has the finest cuisine of them all.

Since there is no designated parking, be sure to plan for street parking beforehand.

What do you expect from a restaurant? To have good quality food, pleasant ambiance and respectful service and waiting. We experienced none of that. Everything in Khaghan is a "recipe" for disaster. The food was not anything like they advertise on the menu. I chose Khaghan because I wanted to have my companions experience Persian cuisine but one of my friends was vegetarian and they offered a vegetarian Kebab on their menu. The night we went they simply said that they don't have it without noting that anywhere on the website. The rest of the food was very dry half burnt rice as if all of it was the so called "tah dig" plus very dry and half burnt chicken. I had Bakhtiari and could only ate 1/3 of my plate and no one on our table finished any food. It was a very formal business dinner or I would have taken pictures and even asked the guests to comment on their food as well.
Now, we were the only guests at the restaurant, so they had turned off the heat completely and it was freezing. Our food turned cold the moment they put it on the table. I asked them twice to turn on the heat and they said they will but obviously they did not.
Going to Khaghan was my idea and totally regret it. I do not recommend Khaghan as it does not worth the high price you pay for very cheap and lousy hospitality.

The food was good but the service was poor (I’m being nice here). Our orders had 7 items out of which 2 items were completely ignored/forgotten. One of us didn’t have food to eat! They said it will be ready in 30 minutes!
There was a verbal apology but the attitude wasn’t like one at all. I wouldn’t go to this restaurant again for sure.

We went to Khaghan last Thursday and half of us got sick from their food, we were so sick for 2 days and when we call them, they didn't respond and their supervisor was so rude to me.she didn't say her name when I asked and she said do what ever you want. Now I'm going to get the note from my doctor and follow up. Even they didn't say sorry

We ordered gormeh sabzi and tahdig for starter were amazing. Loved the ghormeh sabzi. And for main course we ordered persian shishlik kebon and loghme or kubide kebob. The portions were really big good for two. Shishlik was good but kubide wasn’t good at all. Rice and saffron tahdig that it came with kabobs was really good. $89 for all foods.

Good Iranian food and Kabab. Try the "tah dig" appetizers, "kabab barg" and "joojeh kabab". A bit pricy, but worths the try.

Food is tasty, portion is good; however service is not good. Had to wait 45min between the soup and main dish. The temperature of the soup was mixed between cold and hot.they must've mixed hot and cold ingredients there.

Like the persian koobideh and found it one of the best in DT Vancouver
If you wanna have a full portion of koobideh, ensure you have not had anything 6 - 7 hours in advance, because it is too much for one person!

Favourite Persian restaurant I’ve discovered in the lower mainland. The rice is just like how my mom makes it and the service was amazing.

We had the pleasure of having Mehr serve us at Khaghan.

These guys did everything humanly possible to make our stay comfortable because we had to eat outside since they were so busy.

The food was delicious, the service was excellent & the atmosphere was refreshingly different.

Will definitely go back.

Excellent food. Super huge servings. Could probably reduce the size and people would still be happy. I've eaten a lot of Persian food and the meat here was some of the best I've had. Nice that it's halal also. A place for me to take some of my relatives.
Service was adequate, but just. Staff are just too inexperienced, but many restaurants are going through that right now.

Unusual and awful customer service: ️
We ordered 11 main dishes for delivery and they made a mistake and send us wrong order. After calling them and unlikely they accepted their mistake they refused to send the right order and jamileh who seems to be the manager repeatedly asked to return the food in advance then they will send us the right order while all the guests were hoping to have a dinner. So unresponsive

As a newcomer to Vancouver, I went to this restaurant two days in a row to taste their different dishes. First time I had the BBQ chicken. It was not marinated the way it should so the taste was questionable. Next day I went there to have their minced meat BBQ, called Loghme. I must say that it was not tasty. I usually love this dish, but This time I couldn't finish my food. It simply was not delicious. These dishes for a person with the roots not from Iran, can look exotic and delicious, but for me, that have my roots from Iran and have been living in Europe and eating Persian BBQ at different Iranian restaurants in different countries for the last 25 years I am sad to say that their food didn't liv up to my expectations, Sorry!

Friendly staff, good service and good food quality. Though the patio needs a bit of work, inside the restaurant is amazingly traditional.

Great Persian food! Their kebab is amazing. Try the yogurt and mint drink and the eggplant dip. I highly recommend the loghme or vasiri.

After trying many persian restaurants and getting disappointed, I really liked this one.
Staff were warmly serving and the quality and taste of loghmeh kebab and rice was so good, in a cozy and relaxing space/lighting. They also know the right kind of persian music to play in such a restaurant.

Amazing Persian food and very well priced and great portions. The naam they gave us with the eggplant dip was pretty terrible but the dip was good. I also very much enjoyed the music that was playing. (Photo was a screenshot from a video)

I was really satisfied with the lamb shank. The kebab was also pretty good. The stews are great too but I can always make them at home so I come here for the other dishes. Very good Iranian restaurant overall.

Visited over the weekend with friends and we all got severe food poisoning. Kabab Koobideh smelled terrible and now I know why. Never going back, one of us already had a previous poor experience but we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Good Portion' unique food presentation and amazing and friendly staff. Music does not go with the wibe of Persian restaurant. Definitely recommend to visit this location.

Loghme kebab was delicious, but the rice was low quality. I'd prefer, as a Persian restaurant, they served Iranian rice rather than Basmati.

Great restaurant! I had a wonderful time there last night. Atmosphere was chill and cool. The food was absolutely amazing. Servers were also great and truly efficient and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in beautiful Khaghan restaurant.

This place is fantastic. Excellent food, huge portion for reasonable price. The servant were friendly. The owner was very nice. Highly recommend this place.

I did not get pictures of the food but man it's one of my favorite places we got bone in chicken that is amazing and lamb dish just as good some pickles olives to start lol I ended up ordering three they were so tasty friendly staff amazing food

We ordered thru Uber Eats and it was super tasty! We loved the smokieness in the mizra ghasemi so much! The meats in vaziri and loghmeh was so well seasoned and perfect char on the meat! Will definitely order again thru their website as they have their own driver to deliver.

Great food even greater service. I been here twice and I highly recommend this restaurant. Both management and service improved significantly from last year. Great job!
