A few yeas ago I broke a tooth, and having endured a lot of orthodontic work as a kid, including surgery, I have an acute fear of the dentist well into adulthood, having not visited one in longer than I'm willing to admit. I picked Kingsgate Dental based on the positive reviews and proximity to where I live and made an appointment which I was dreading. Dr. Vu and his team were extremely professional, explaining everything that needed to be done so it was easy to understand, pointing out the issues on the screen and walking me through the treatments, and they all were very easy going which helped me relax. I was finished in half the time I thought it would take although it never felt rushed, and I've been back a couple times since then, having a similar experience each time. I would recommend Kingsgate Dental to anybody, especially those who might be putting off dental work because of their fear of the dentist.

Perfectly acceptable dental care, and a very clean facility. Based on recent experiences, in my opinion, I feel that they seem to be more about volume and profit, rather than patient care.

This is the only place our family go to for dental problems. All the people working there are nice and professional, we never have to wait.
I have been with Doctor Vu for a major root canal work and implant, he was excellent in what he does, gave me thorough explanation and gentle throughout all appointments and even after checkups.
Nancy, she is at the front, also very helpful with my insurance paperworks.
I am highly recommend this place!

A lot of the positive reviews here are on new accounts, so beware that they are likely faked. I went for an appointment and it was fine, though I felt pretty rushed. The dental assistant and dentist talked to each other over me while completely ignoring me. I did not feel engaged in the treatment or like I was being treated like a whole person. If you have anxiety I don't recommend this place because everything's super rushed and they do not take their time with you. The dentist recommended a few follow up procedures after the exam but when I asked questions he did not have much to say and I did not feel that I had a full understanding of the issue or treatment plan. I left confused and booked with another dentist. The second dentist had to repeat the xrays due to poor quality (they were done free of charge so I don't think it was a money grab) and found two more budding issues which were not discussed when I visited Kingsgate Dental. Again I don't think this was a money grab because the second dentist was able to show me in xrays and photos exactly what they were talking about, why it happened, and why they were proposing a certain course of treatment.

The staff were nice and I think this place is fine if you want to get in and out quickly and do not have any anxiety over going to the dentist. I felt that they were competent, just very bare bones (surprising given the rates were pretty high). I don't really recommend them, there are better dentists.

I recently had my teeth cleaned at Kingsgate Dental, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service that I received. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was welcoming and professional. They made me feel comfortable and at ease, which is important to me when it comes to dental appointments.

The dental hygienist, Crystal, who performed my cleaning was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything that she was doing. She was gentle and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire process.

My family and I all go there and have been with them for about 5 years now. Always friendly, Angela always remembers me and my family even though we are only there twice a year, and they are great with the kids. Clean, modern and comfortable office.

Are they not supposed to give patient's gold inlay back to the patient?
During my visit two days ago, the dentist and I communicated with each other in Korean. She, her job title is probably a dental hygienist, might have thought that I could not understand what she said in English.

While he, the dentist, was working on my tooth, the dental hygienist asked him, "Does she want it back? " She meant my gold inlay that was taken out during my root canal treatment. I was confused at that time. Why does she care about mine? Why did she not ask me? Though my mouth remained open for the treatment, I was able to answer by hand. And I also thought that it should be given back to me even without asking me.
Anyway, the dentist said "yes, she wants it back. " (Actually, he did not ask me about the gold inlay. He knows that I understand English because I told him I was studying at university.)

Then, she asked him the same question again. "Does she want it back? " He answered yes again.
I missed what she and he talked to each other right afterwards, but soon later, she said "YOU (the dentist) CAN TAKE IT. " The dentist did not answer. He was just continuing working on my tooth. (Considering his soft personality, I can only assume that he might have felt awkward. He might have not wanted his co-worker to feel bad?)

After the treatment is done, she told me that I could go to the washroom if needed and I did. After I was back, the dentist explained the result to me showing me the X-rays. In the end, no one talked about my inlay. I told her that I wanted it back just before I was about to leave. She did not make eye contact with me. She got it from another room and gave it back to me. It was already put away somewhere and was packaged. (I attached a photo of it)

I am still processing my experience there.
Apart from my experience, the price for root canal was not as afforadable as I thought though the quality was not bad.

Really great, professional and reliable services from this clinic! The staff are all friendly and super knowledgeable, which puts me at so much ease (considering I’m the type to have such high stress during dental visits). Their office is clean and modern, with tools and equipment that help you feel even more comfortable, such as a jaw rest to keep your jaw open for when you’re getting cavities filled. There was a minor issue with the booking for my appointment, but they immediately were on it trying to fix the issue and gave me some goodies as an apology. Overall, such an exceptional experience with them! I felt very well taken care of and I’m excited to book with them again for all my future dental visits!

I was really worried about getting my wisdom tooth extracted. After talking to a couple of places, one of my friends recommended this place to me. I would like to say my doctor was really kind and good. I would recommend this place to everyone who ever have dental needs.

I love the new office! Was a student receiving treatments in 2018, now I come down to Vancouver from Haida Gwaii 2x a year and try to get a quick cleaning or appointment scheduled with Kingsgate as services are limited at home. Easy to book in, friendly staff, very comfortable but thorough teeth cleaning. Appreciate the great service - thank you!

I've been going here for a couple years, seeing Dr. Hejuri (not sure about spelling?) but switched to Dr. Vu (again, not sure of spelling). Dr. Vu is excellent. Dr. Hejuri, on the other hand, is the reason I'm writing this review, and the two stars are for her and not Dr. Vu.

She put in two crowns on two of my lower teeth, and one of them has thrown off my bite, and caused continued pain. I returned to her twice to check the bite, and each time she told me there was no problem. It took Dr. Vu a couple of minutes to determine that the bite was off, and that my jaw automatically slipped to compensate. I've had acupuncture in my jaw and lost a lot of sleep because of the pain and discomfort. By simply correcting the bite, which took less than five minutes, the problem was solved. Hejuri also badly advised me about a mouth guard (causing me to unnecessarily spend $500) and on my last visit, didn't check my teeth after I had my cleaning and x-ray but charged me for a checkup ($300 total). Watch out for her. She also has not been nice, which is less important if a job is well done. The other dentist, however, is great, and I highly recommend him. Just make sure you don't get her.

My daughter also goes to this clinic, and all the other dentists have been excellent. She's the only bad apple.

I am a basket case when it comes to the dentist. Everyone there was so kind but didn't make me feel like they were coddling me. They walked me through everything and made sure I was ok the whole time. Only reason I got through was because of them. Thank you all.

This place has gained my trust. The dentist are great and the staff friendly. The office is clean and modern and I've had problems in the past with other dental offices but being here for many years, I've had no problems. I moved out of the neighborhood but still drive here for my appointments because I don't want to take the risk. Highly recommend this dental office!

Definitely the best dental office I've ever been to. I came for a second opinion and they presented clear options that my other office did not. They are honest and professional. The office is clean and up to date with new equipment. The dentist showed me what he was doing with before and after photos. The front desk were friendly and filed my insurance information for me. Super professional staff and skilled dentist. I will be back.

Absolutely love Anita the hygienist. I was going through a bit of a rough time with a health issue and it all came out (emotionally) when I sat in the dental chair. She calmed me down and held such a safe space for me, I didn’t feel rushed and felt so comfortable to just be myself. Thank you so much Anita. I swear I've been a regular at this Dentist Office at Kingsgate Mall for more than 4.5yrs now. Now when it comes to a Dentist Visit, who goes to the Dentist smiling AND LEAVES SMILING. Meeeeeee!

ONCE there, simply 'R E L A X'. While located in a busy Mall, the Dental Office has a superior calm meticulous setting with a beautiful ambience. BUT TRULY the actual GEMS here are the Frontline Personnel.
Once escorted in, you are under the Domain of Care of Miss Elizabeth. Absolutely astounding it is, just the sheer diligence she invests in your CARE and wellbeing throughout the Process. I mean she's 'connected' with you, she's communicating with you, making sure you are at ease etc and nothing is causing you any form of discomfort OR grief. ONE MUST BE a super Human Being and very Beautiful inside out to literally demonstrate such quality of visible care in their WORK. People are tired from all that's going on.eg. Stress from Covid etc. HERE it is the same Super Fantastic Care. Soft spoken, she magically made me comfortable to complete the mandatory X-Ray which was a breeze. I mean, in the beginning I was petrified, so anxious before the Dental Appt.
It's CRAZY & overwhelmingly astounding how she incorporates 100% genuine care in her WORK that simply shines through. Throughout the Process she continues to communicate with me, STAYING IN TOUCH, making sure I'm a OK etc. BENCHMARK REASON is why I continue to be a Client here, The Superior Quality of Genuine Care, and workmanship.

Been going here for two years now - I couldn't recommend more highly. They make you feel as comfortable as possible in the chair, and are clear communicating your dental health to you. 5/5 stars from me!

Disorganized, impersonal, and rude receptionist.
I had a procedure done with one dentist and assistant who looked into and confirmed coverage with my insurance via phone call. The receptionist booked a follow-up appointment with a different dentist (not sure why) who during my next appointment said the procedure in question was not covered.
We proceeded to ask the receptionist who was quite rude and rather than looking into the situation or contacting the company did nothing but cut me off and bluntly state, "no, it is not covered", even after I attempted explaining that the dental assistant who helped the previous dentist had called the insurance company who confirmed it was covered.
The Kingsgate Dental dentists are polite however it is a large clinic with many staff and dentists that gives off an impersonal, client in/client out vibe. The receptionist was very unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. I will be booking my next appointment with a different dentist/clinic entirely.

Really impressed with the clinic. Both the doctor and the dental assistant were extremely patient and professional. They were also excellent at explaining the procedure and providing time for answering questions. The five star review is well deserved!

This office is fantastic. I've been a patient for many years and received a lot of dental work including root canals, teeth taken out which were hard and an implant. The work has always been high quality and the dentists and hyginiests are great. I moved away for a year and received some work at another office in another city and I always felt it was not to the same standard. The faciltiites are modern and extremely clean and one of the nicest clinics I've been to. Also their covid protocols are excellent. I feel very safe at this dental office.

Amazing Dentistry! Everyone was super nice! Just switched here from another dentist clinic, and it’s like night and day.
The receptionist was super nice! They got me in no problem at all! The dentist was great and the orthodontist was cracking jokes the whole time and keeping the mood nice and cheery.

Everything is fantastic here and I LOVE to come here because of doctors are really nice and friendly. However, ONE PROBLEM That I have found is the receptionist plus size who usually sit on the left counter right when you walk-in. She was verbally rude and has so much attitude. I cant understand enough why would this AMAZING clinic has such a poor receptionist who is supposed to be friendly and be nice to clients.

The first time I felt comfortable at the dentist's office. Dentist was honest and explained everything he was doing in detail. Very clean and everyone is nice.

Dr James Vu did a great job with my tooth filling. He explained everything he was doing and showed the before and after pictures of the decaying tooth! I am very happy with his work. He is patient, remembers his patient and care for his patient! The dental assistant anna (if i am not wrong) is also nice and and chatty. The dental hygienist (i don’t remember her name) was so kind, patient, caring and welcoming. She did a very good job with cleaning my teeth. I would highly recommend this dental facility and this is my 3rd visit at this dental facility!

Just moved to Vancouver this March during Covid so I was on the hunt for a new dental office. Came here for my cleaning the other day and was very impressed! They are taking the covid measurements very seriously to ensure every guest is safe and healthy, and everyone on the team was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire appointment. Going to the dentist is usually scary for me but the team here made my visit very pleasant. The office is also very clean which was nice. Definitely recommending this place to anyone that is looking for a new place!

I had a good initial experience but now the filler I had is changing colour as if I smoke), and the cavity work done was painful once done, the healing process and has been painful for some time. Being charged for an additional follow up due to pains is not right. Seems like this clinic likes to get people in quickly and rush appointments and doesn't seem to give long lasting work. I now need to go to another clinic to try and get these issues fixed which will cost me another good chunk of money during these rough Covid times.

Wow, five stars all day, are you kidding? I'd give them 10 stars if I could. This is a 2020 dentist, fast, efficient, and high tech. I literally sat down at 1: 30pm for 5 seconds (no joke), and was greeted to come in by the amazing dental assistant. Dr. Largani did my filling avoiding a root canal (and an incredible job too, I wish I could share a photo) and in 1 hour I was in, and out. I literally sat down for 5 seconds (no joke), and was greeted to come in. The level of care, sophistication and pure talent is fantastic. Absolutley incredible, the front desk is fast, and the facility feels big, spacious, clean and calm. I recommend this so highly, and I will be going back for the rest of my life. For busy people who want top notch work, this is the spot. Period. I can't thank you guys enough.

Both I and my husband are delighted to have found Kingsgate Dental! Without a doubt the most professional dentist clinic I have ever been to. I'm completely satisfied with the service I received (Initial visit X-rays and extremely thorough cleaning by Dr. James Vu who is the perfect dentist in terms of talking you through everything and providing you with full information about your oral health). His assistant was extremely welcoming and professional too (apologies for not being able to recall her name). The level of hygiene was excellent and I felt completely safe due to the strictest safety precautions they are taking at this current time. I can't recommend them enough. Receptionist was sharp as a tack. Got my details without any "sorries? ", answered the substance of my questions and, without needing a prompt, gave me a quote for the first consult. The assistants were pleasant, calm and competent. The dentist was amiable, and competent. As for keeping me in the picture, he told me what he was going to do and why. Once done he showed me what he had done. As for the bill, that was reasonable. I will be returning to them for any further dental work.

I am one of those rare people that have always loved going to the dentist and that hasn't changed since I've started coming to Kingsgate Dental. Initially I picked this dentist because it was close to my house but even after a series of moves I keep coming here because the staff are so friendly and competent and I really feel like they care about my oral hygiene and not just my money.
Today's visit had a particularly friendly hygienist. Hard to chat when they're working inside your mouth but it definitely made the experience even better. I was a bit worried about how it would be with all the covid-19 measures in place but I felt both safe and not overly burdened - a great combo.

The staff are super friendly and are happy to explain things. I went in for a filling and it was smooth sailing. The dentist was awesome, he explained everything as he was doing it (he had a great, upbeat personality), and even showed photos of the procedure after so I can see a timeline of everything done. Highly recommend.

Went in to have my wisdom teeth looked at as they were causing me pain. I was expecting to just have an evaluation then to come back at another date for removal. Instead the dentist looked at them and offered to take them out then and there. He removed my top two wisdom teeth. I was in and out of Kingsgate Dental within an hour. I had very minimal swelling and no pain through the recovery period. Would highly recommend them for wisdom teeth removal.

100% Forsure go here to get the best care and advice for you're teeth. These people are professional and knowledgeable. Its been a very long time since I have found a good dentist and oral hygienist. Nice and gentle. Just the way I like it.

I hate the dentist. I'm scared of the cost and the pain. Every dentist I've ever seen has been an out-of-touch old guy who can't fathom why a middle-class person like me can't just drop thousands of dollars on crowns on a whim.

Dr. Low is the first dentist I've met who seemed to care about me as a human. I was so anxious and angry I had to go in for an emergency. Every staff member was incredible. Dr. Low asked what *I* would like to do, given a set of options - and listened. He also didn't try to immediately 'upsell' me to some of the non-urgent work items, but did point out - on my x-rays - another concern to address soon.

I can't believe Dr. Low or this team even exists, I urge anyone who needs a dentist to give these folks a call first.

After a visit to this dentist I wasn't sure about returning because of an uncomfortable session (I had a check-up and cavity filled). One of the owners got in touch with me and took the time to discuss all of my concerns. He was extremely understanding, apologized and offered a full refund. Kingsgate Dental truly is one of the few health professionals that genuinely cares about their patients.

I feel very good as I can tell the infection is gone and with the preasure that had to be applied I am feeling so much better and I will sleep better tonight with out being awaken by throbbing pain.

The front desk is very professional and handled all of my insurance questions and form submissions themselves directly to the insurance companies. The dentist was thorough and the quality of the work was evident. Before, during and after photos of my teeth and their condition was shown to me on a large screen and made understanding my situation that much easier. I would highly recommend this place. First time visiting a dentist in North America and got to say it was a great experience from start to finish. Dental Assistant was highly attentive, demonstrated great knowledge as so the Dentist also. My x-ray had been presented to me like a map, to which I was then navigated through to a clear understanding of my dental health, seamlessly. The passion for dentistry really shone through, which really set me at ease form my work.

My doctor was great, much better than the first one! He took his time to explain, and answered all my little questions. I would love to have him fix my teeth and take care of my dental needs! The hygienist who did my cleaning that day was a superstar as well! I was told it would take maybe 2 hours and she got it done in 1! Was a great experience at the dentist

Every staff member is friendly and the location and office is simply delightful. No wait and no hassle. I was given options for my situation and there weren't any surprises. Dr. James Vu treated my daughter's molar, he spoke with her through her tooth pulling with every step. His dental assistant was very kind and informative, she treated every question I had with caring consideration. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone.

Today was I've my first visit. I've never had a dentist explain my x-rays In such detail and note how my orthodontics when I was 12 affected certain parts of my teeth. I had a thorough cleaning and look forward to my next visit (never thought I would say that!)
