Kintec: Footwear + Orthotics

I've never gone to get high quality insoles before, so I went here. I took so long to decide and Ryan, the person that assisted me, was very professional, very patient and very knowledgeable. He also modified the insoles for better fit in the same visit. Excellent experience so highly recommended!

I was told to go go there by an orthopedic surgeon. I was greted by I think Wei because her handwriting is hard to be sure, could be Mei! Either way very helpful and friendly. I'm sure I will return.

I was in for a short time, Evelyn was very helpful and knowledgeable. I found the rocker shoes that were recommended by the doctor, but I was unable to place an order for custom orthotics, I hope to find a place to get it done up north, not enough time for that.

Reynaldo helped me choose an appropriate footwear for my Plantar fasciitis. Reynaldo took the time to explain my current walking conditions, offered some suggestions for footwear, and answered any questions I had.

I highly recommend visiting Kintec and seeing Reynaldo. Getting ready for a few races this year I wanted to get properly fit, rather than buying based solely on my own online research.

Booking a 30 min appointment was totally worth it! Rey listened to my unique use case, looked at my current shoes, assessed my gait and made some excellent recommendations. I left with a pair of everyday running shoes and my race shoes. Testing the shoes out at home on the treadmill, I could instantly feel the difference. At my normal pace it felt like I was putting in half the effort with the Hoka Mach 5s and the Carbon X3 are just fast.

I was referred to this store by my occupational therapist to purchase supportive shoes. It was my first visit to this store so I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service and expertise from Reynaldo. He spent a lot of time checking to see what I needed in footwear and to make sure I received exactly what I needed. He was so helpful and pleasant and took all the time needed to get everything right. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely return again.

We went for a shoe fitting consultation and were quite impressed with Gabriel's knowledge and expertise. He was very thorough and quite helpful and found us shoes that fit properly. My husband also needed a better knee brace and Gabriel helped him with that. I totally recommend going to the Richmond office and seeing Gabriel!

Even after 1visit and no Orthotics I learnt so much about my feet, and everything I had been doing wrong. I was recommended some shoes which although expensive have made all the difference even before getting the insoles. Happy with the education I received and helpful information!

My physiotherapist recommended custom orthotics as part of a multi-focal plan to address a foot problem. My pedorthist Mei was fantastic and, during the course of my initial consultation, took the time to explain (as did my physio) what the orthopedic issues were and what role custom orthotics could play in the context of these issues. I ordered a pair of custom orthotics as well as a pair of lower profile orthotics for dress shoes. I'm still acclimatizing to these new orthotics and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they help ease the pain in my foot. All in all I've had a great experience dealing with Mei at the Kintec Richmond location and would unhesitatingly recommend them!

I had a great experience at Kintec in Richmond. Alex did a great job of of consulting with me by looking to how I walk, looking at my old running shoes and explaining to me what was happening. Alex was very knowledgable about which running shoe would work best for me.

We were very impressed with the reception we received and with May. May really knows her stuff and we learned a lot from her. I was not looking forward to orthotics but they are so different from what I expected. May was meticulous with her assessment and I felt I was in really good hands. I've been running for the past 6 years until recently when I started feeling pain in my left foot. It turned out I had metatarsalgia. My doctor recommended that I get rocker bottom shoes. After much research online I found the Hoka Bondi 6 with great reviews. So I made an appointment at Kintec for further consultation and to try the shoes on. Mei was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I bought the shoes and I love them! Thanks Mei!

I dropped in last month knowing that I had to do something about my chronic plantar fasciitis. Paolo gave me some great advice to get me going and this gave me the confidence to book a consultation. In the meantime, I had gone to my doctor to confirm my suspicions about the condition. I met Maddy a few weeks later and she educated me on the causes and treatments necessary. She guided me through the whole process of getting fitted for orthotics and patiently answered all my questions along the way. Why is this location even open?

Biggest waste of time. Never have stock and when you ask to order you something they get all annoyed. Employees got a attitude problem that needs to be fixed. Asked them a question about a product and told me to read about it online.

Yesterday I went in to buy insoles and Joey was very helpful. He had me try various insoles and told me how a different shoe would give me more support. I ended up buying the shoes as well as the insoles and they have been the most comfortable I have worn in a very long time. Thank you, Joey!

I was initially referred to Kintec by my family doctor in 2015 due to chronic leg and back pain. Back then, having no prior experience with wearing orthotics, I wasn't sure if it would help alleviate pain. But Mei's exceptional client care and explanation during the biomechanical assessment gave me confidence that I would feel better with the added support.

Four years later, I've now gone back for new orthotics! I'm just as impressed by Mei's professionalism as I was on that first visit. Not only did she conduct a thorough assessment, answering questions and making further recommendations, but she also followed up a few weeks later to ensure my new orthotics were a good fit for me. Everyone should get their shoes here! I didn't know my feet could be this comfortable before I got them professionally fitted. Even if you just want a regular shoe, you get much better service, fit, and information than if you just go to the mall. Going to get all my shoes here from now on. Thanks to Mei for your help!

I visited Kintec back in Dec 2018 as I had been dealing with pain in my right foot for a number of months. After seeing my physician, it was recommended that I get custom orthotics. I found Kintec online and with the favorable ratings and the fact that they were close to me, I decided to give them a call. They were very informative and easy to deal with. Lots of great information and while they provided me with lots of options of items to purchase I never felt pressured at any time to get anything I didn't want. The orthotics arrived in a timely manner and I was given a lot of information in terms of the shoes I should be using with the orthotics. It's now been a good few months and the pain in my foot is about 90% gone. Only 90% gone because over the weekend if I'm at home more and don't wear my orthotics the pain does come back by the end of the weekend but when I wear my orthotics regularly and for many hours the pain is gone. I am very happy with Kintec and would recommend them.
