Terrible company and incredibly rude staff! I have auto insurance for more than a decade and had a home insurance policy through Kirby for some years as well. Unfortunately due to long term illness I let the home insurance lapse a year ago (yes, my fault). Some months ago there was a minor fire in an adjacent unit which burned small part of the exterior balcony of my unit. The balcony is common property covered under the strata insurance, pending repair. My neighbour is deemed 100% at fault. I immediately called the day of the fire to restore my policy through Kirby so that I'm not left uninsured ever again. I was shocked to be told that Kirby will not restore my policy until after the damage is fully repaired with photos. We're still in a pandemic, and it is going to take many months to repair the damage. Two months later I'm still left uninsured because the balcony isn't repaired yet. Today I happened to tell my story to the restoration company manager who said that in his 19 years of work he has never heard of a company denying issuing a policy because of a strata claim pending, it's not even a personal claim. He recommended I call them back and get them to give a new policy, or else take my business elsewhere. So, I called Kirby today and said I wanted to talk about my insurance policy and told my name. The woman who answered said "oh, you had a fire we can't give you a new policy. " I tried to say no, "I" didn't have a fire.but she wouldn't let me speak and she said she was putting me on hold to read the notes. I tried to say wait-please let me explain in my own words.but she didn't let me talk just put me on hold. When she came back on the line she immediately said something like, "we can't issue a new policy if there's an existing claim and damage.you'll have to go somewhere else. " I tried to say "please let me speak so I can explain that it's not a claim against me, it was a neighbour who has been deemed 100% at fault, and the claim for repair is with the strata common property insurance not personal.there's no claim against me.etc. " She cut me off as I was trying to explain all that, and when I tried to insist by saying "you are not letting me speak" she said "no, that they've already decided I'm going to have to go somewhere else. " Then she said she was going to hang up now, and she did. I understand that it's my fault I let my policy lapse, but that doesn't mean that I deserve to be treated like a criminal and disrespected like this. I did not raise my voice nor use foul language, I simply wanted the person to let me speak for 2 minutes to make sure they understood the situation from my words not from notes on the file. I will never do business with this company ever again.

Had renter's insurance through Kirby for about 2 years. After shopping around, they gave me an excellent price (SUBSTANTIALLY less than the other companies I contacted; my possessions have a low dollar-value) and covered me with no hassle whatsoever, even though everything was closed down due to the pandemic. I ended my insurance recently and both of the people that helped me sign up and end my policy were incredibly helpful and made it super easy for me. When I need insurance again I'll definitely go here first, thank you!

We've used Kirby for our own personal house and car insurance for years now since we moved to Mission - I knew they'd be able to handle a tricky task of setting up a new fleet for the company I work for.
Erin went above and beyond for our company's new fleet insurance. It was no easy task but she handled it like a pro!
Would highly recommend Erin and the whole crew at Kirby. Thanks again!

I have been struggling with our fleet insurance for the company I work with and Jodi Milne totally saved the day and made sure everything was set up for us perfectly - very thorough, looked into every opportunity to mitigate costs while maintaining the correct insurance. Definitely recommend these guys for your business insurance needs.

I had a wonderful experience with friendly staff. I got 2 car insurance policies here since I was disgruntled by lack of customer service at Johnston Meiers in Junction. I was charged twice before when I asked to keep the plate number from an old car since anyway I paid majority of the policy. (It has been my habit of keeping an old plate number as a souvenir). I asked for a refund of extra charge they made. The manager want keep the $200 refund I was asking, but they lost their customer forever times the number of future customers who didn't go there when I told my experience. Kirby is way above than JM in terms of customer service and staff knowlege!

We’ve had all our vechicles and homes insured with Kirby in Mission for the last 5 years and couldn’t be happier with their service. Our agent Melissa goes above and beyond to make sure our policies are renewed on time and shops multiple companies to make sure we get the best price.

We have been doing business with Kirby Insurance for 14+ years. Erin Wiercioch goes above and beyond in keeping track of when insurance for our home, auto, and recreational items are coming due AND she has always been able to source out very competitive rates for everything! All of the staff are friendly, helpful and as always professional!

Was with them for 7 years before I moved to the Yukon. Dealing with Melissa, Judy and the other fine women at Kirby was one of the best customer experiences I’ve ever had. They rarely came up short on my weird and unique questions and requests, and when they did they did the research and made the calls to find out how I could accomplish what I needed. Thank you everyone at Kirby for making dealing with ICBC a little less painful.

I want to say thank you to Erin Wiercioch who five years ago found me a home insurance policy when others wouldn’t. It was a dream home but Erin had a very short time to find an underwriter who would provide insurance as it was an original heritage home with all the baggage and I had to close the deal quick. Since then Erin has looked after my insurance needs and we love the house. These last five years Erin has provided exceptional service and I look forward to working with her in the future. I highly recommend Erin and all the staff at Kirby for all your insurance needs.

Staff was VERY rude. Had to have a deceased family members name removed from insurance. My aunt's name is also on it. With death certificate in had they made this an awful experience. We were charged for multiple extra things after being told previously it was be simple change, "just need copy of the death certificate". Then they wanted a copy of the will and the executor to sign extra papers. All should not have been needed as a family member was already stated as co owner. Our entire family has car and home insurance with them and non of us will be going back. I'm disgusted with your employees.

I went in almost 3 weeks ago to get my vehicle switched from my husband’s name into my name before the next payment was due. Apparently there was a signature missed even though I specifically asked if the paperwork was filled out correctly. I understand that mistakes are made and that nobody is perfect so when two payments came out instead of one, I called the office. I, literally, had 3 questions to ask and the rep that answered the phone didn’t let me ask one. She talked over me and kept interrupting and when I voiced my frustration I was hung up on. My husband went in later that day and was told that a refund was coming our way, it has yet to happen. I’ve used Kirby Insurance before and at most they have been unremarkable. I have been blown away by customer service at other offices so PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM! The incompetence is overwhelming and I’m in the customer service industry, if an error is made that’s not the client’s fault it’s an opportunity for the business to go out of it’s way to correct it. Don’t ever use them even though their location is convenient. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
