After not having my hair cut properly during the covid years, I finally got enough nerve to get my hair cut by an actual stylist. My daughter had an amazing cut recently and suggested I book an appointment with Olivia at Kiyo Salon. I was so embarrassed because my hair was in serious need of expert scissors. Olivia eased my mind and gave me the most wonderful cut of my life. Truly amazing considering she had to style around my mess. Highly recommend.

Every time I come here is a treat. The reception staff is friendly and helpful, and the people I have seen for services have been professional and thorough. I have been coming here for well over a decade, and I will continue coming back. I have tried other salons and spas, and have regretted not coming here instead every time.

Update: The new location is really nice! Parking was easy to find, and the accessible bathrooms are a great addition. The separation between the hair and spa sides is excellent. Very clean, very well decorated.

First experience at the Kiyo Salon & Day Spa, will not be my last. Reception was gracious and friendly. Expert Stylist Jaeden is a treasure. She made the experience very pleasant and delivered a beautiful hair style that I love and that made my husband run his fingers through my hair. I call it a great success.

I had a facial done with Katie. She was absolutely amazing and accommodating. I have an allergy to coconut and she was very careful to choose products that would work for my skin. I highly recommend Kiyo to anyone considering doing a day spa experience in Nanaimo!

Such a lovely place to get any spa service! I've been for a few different treatments, all different estheticians, but all equally fantastic. Also they always recommend just the right products (which is a hard task when you have just met someone once) and carry really high quality stuff - all my favourites have come from here. Special shout out to Emily for the best facial ever!

Ive never wrote a bad review in my life, and I feel vaguely uncomfortable doing so. That being said, I feel I have to warn people. I get hydra facials on a regular basis. So I decided to come book one here while I was on the island… i paid for the deluxe facial for 280 + tax.
It was brutal, the room was cold. It was 20 min faster then on the website. There was zero facial massaging just a suction lymphatic massage and some rushed cleansing.
The whole thing felt very rushed as if I was annoying her by taking up her time.

The location and ambiance was pleasant and the hair salon looked very professional. The woman at the desk was quite nice, and maybe the aesthetician was just having an off day. All in all I am currently feeling pretty ripped off
