I purchased the Nico genius 10 from KMS Tools. It was a great price and the staff was very helpful. I was able to restore my car battery which had been sitting for 3 years. I wish I had bought this years ago. It works on 12V, 12V AGM and 12V Lithium also 6V AGM and 6V. I set it to the 12V repair and to my surprise it actually worked. This is a must have tool for your shop

They are always helpful. One time I was looking for springs, the store did not have it, but the tools repair shop looked through their spare parts and found something for me. God sent.

Excellent store to buy high quality tools from automotive to woodworking. Many knowledgeable staff to answer your questions.
Also a separated building for classic cars; body panels, suspension, etc.and some used parts.

Currently my go to place for most tool related purchases. I'd personally like to see some higher quality finishing and furniture tools, but I get why they don't carry them. Staff have always been helpful and friendly.

Many useful tools for my trade. Sometimes you have to know where they have accessories tucked away to get the best deal for the same product from different companies for less. The stock is setup according to the vendors placement & so add something as simple as #2 square recess driver bits range in price for $3.50-$6.99 for 6" bit. Many other examples of the same sinario.

Disappointed that I emailed these guys asking if they could order a tool for me that is made by a brand they carry. I provided the part number to them and just asked if they can get it. That was several days ago, they didn't respond to me at all. Same thing happened regarding parts for an air tool I had a while ago, gave all the part numbers, no reply, phone in to ask same question, said they'd call me back, no call. Bought parts at another repair shop instead.

Staff went above and beyond to locate and ship a tool that was labelled as 'Out of stock' on their website, but they had one in a store and were able to make a custom order online and shipped it the next day.

This is a great place to buy tools. Love the warranty on the drug you buy there. Just make sure you subscribe to their free membership to get the lowest price on items. If you're in construction or just a DIYer, this is the place to go to get what you need. The staff and pleasant and helpful. I'd recommend this place to everyone I know.

Unaware of the wait period for online sales to process, my first purchase was rather disappointing. I guess the online store and retail store operate somewhat independently. However, when I finally went to pick up my product (about a week after placing the order) the staff were super friendly and helpful. Since then I have tempered my expectations with their online shop and use it often for items on their flyer that I’m not in a rush to get. The prices and selection are great and the staff continue to be excellent!

All around excellent experience when shopping at KMS whether you know what you are looking for or not, the staff is always helpful and they have a great selection. Website is always accurate when checking for stock online before going to the store.
The best part about the Coquitlam location is that I go to KMS to shop and browse while the wife is next door buying *high quality furniture:/

I had a great experience buying a new tool bag with Keith (I believe) at kms tools. He went above and beyond in order to help me make a buying decision on getting a new tool bag a month or so ago. He helped me on other things I was asking for as well. I'm super thankful for people like him. I'm glad I chose to stick with the same bag that lasted me over 15 years. Thanks again!

KMS Coquitlam service is great ok as long as you stay away from asking about wood related equipment then super poor service. Small tools very helpful ie Makita. However doesn’t compare to the overall consistent great service at Summitt Tools.

KMS tools has been a great place for buying tools over the years. I normally check prices around western Canada and found great prices and in stock. I recently had a warranty claim on a dewalt tool for the first time in many years as a mechanic. And as soon as the old tool was received a new one was sent right away at no cost to me. Thank you again too Tina burwash and staff for great help over Christmas and New Year’s holiday for service during the holiday season when family’s should be at home enjoying the holidays but working to keep people working.

This is by far the best place to buy tools in the lower mainland. They have amazing prices and their staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They can find tools that are difficult to get elsewhere. They have a three day sale once a month that has some really amazing prices. Before Covid they would also have a BBQ with free smokies I would go to sometimes which I hope they bring back after this is all over. The quality of their product is amazing. A+

*EDIT* just read the response, when is the lack of communication due to being under staffed going to be rectified since its our money on hold with no product delivery or updates, 2nd week of Jan, 3rd week of Jan, are you thinking February? Until then I will order from somewhere else till these delays are over. I've literally ordered from any other store online and walked into the business within a few hours after receiving an email that my item is ready to be picked up, they must have some amazing system in place or attentive staff. As another example I have walked into KMS and asked for a rain check on an item not in stock and over 80% of the time been told to come back in a few weeks and try again, when I pushed gain for a rain check or pre pay I receive an attitude, LAZY LAZY LAZY!

What you are telling me from this is that you cant afford to hire new employees or train the current ones properly since you just dont care? I would rather order from Princess Auto when the item says available online, since you guys never bother to answer the phone or reply to emails about the status of the item. Sounds like when something is back ordered you dont bother to tell the customer and leave them hanging. If this is the case you will end up like Future Shop, gone. Waiting for several weeks for an item and playing dumb is great way to put the owner of KMS out of business since everything is switching to online sales.

Good service.workers are knowledgeable. Anything you can think of they probably have and easy to find. They have frequent sales so sign up to their news letter via email to not miss a deal!

Called in for a CO2 tank refill price. They quoted me $20 for an 8 lb tank and said they didn't have pricing for a 10lb (so I was expecting around $25, which is what I have always spent for a 10lb refill). I went in and they tried to charge me $56 after they filled the tank. I explained the situation to the tank guy and he first thought I was lying and said that is what they have ALWAYS charged. I said that $56 was too much and I was quoted around $20ish (AW fireguard were quoting $35). He then released all the CO2 into the air. I said "what a waste" - his response was, " we can make it back" - WOW! It just makes you wonder doesn't it? A more professional organization might have come to some agreement instead of demonstrating such a lousy and flippant attitude! Very disappointing, what is it with management that makes employees behave this way?

I came into this store on Oct 31st around 2: 35 pm and needed to buy Honeywell filters for my respirator masks. I'm a welder and I need the pancake filters to block out any fumes from welding all day. I asked the guy who was working in that department and he said they were all sold out but the particulate filter P100 does the job too so I bought two packs. Little did I know, they did not work at all and I have been breathing in fumes constantly. This young individual did not know anything about filters or have any concern for the safety of others.

Really wish the staff were wearing masks. Not one staff member. Most of the people in the store had none. No sanitizing, no social distancing. One of my favorite stores. The staff are great, but I'm guessing they're only doing what the management says they have to. I do what I can to keep the spread low, to keep us working, and open. It would be nice to see KMS do the same. Hope you do. I won't be back until such a time.

I ordered a drill that was listed as in stock at this Coquitlam location. I called the following day to see if I could pick it up but they said they couldn't find it. I called a week later to see if they could find it but nothing was available in store but it was coming from the Kelowna store and should be there "anytime". I called another week later and the person answering told me she could do nothing nor see where it was or when it would arrive. For a company with multiple locations and stock trucks transferring items back and forth I would hope that they would be able to track their products and be able to give customers a realistic time when their products would be there. Unfortunately by trying to support local I have just been disgruntled and will just get my supplies at home depot. I hope they can improve their customer service.

Love this store. Good prices/sales and service. As a tradesperson I am often in here to pick up tools/gloves. But they also have a pretty sweet woodcarving section. Always look forward to my tool runs here!

Trying to replace an awesome pair of Watson Stagline gloves has proven difficult until I came across KMS Tools and Equipment. I sized myself according to the Watson website and KMS special ordered in the pair. Turns out the sizing chart was off and the gloves were too big. KMS was responsive and the return was easy. The staff was friendly and professional. I will be dealing with them again.

I have never complained publicly about a business- but I do feel that customers should be warned about the online shopping option from KMS. After 5 orders between my husband and I this past year, only one arrived without issue. There was little to no communication about exceptionally long delays.

We placed our last order in early June. Were shipped the wrong item. Sent it back for exchange. Nothing else came. After numerous emails and prompts they finally shipped us a new item in August. Still the wrong item and it had clearly been used. Sent that tool back and waited, and prompted in order to get a refund.a full three months after the original order. We have now received a refund. This involved more than 15 emails and a whole lot of work to receive nothing in the end. No one answers the phone.

There was no offer of any sort to keep our business. There was no explanation for the mistakes and delays. Unfortunately this will be our last order from KMS.

I am sure that in store service is good- and I can attest that the tools that we bought were good quality- but you can buy them at any number of places. They may mean well but the online store is very poorly run and disorganized. If you are counting on tools for work this is not where you should buy them

Had my items shipped to the wrong address!

I double checked if I had typed the address wrong, but everything was correct on my part.

The invoice even had the correct shipping address!

So I don't even know how they messed up the shipping!

I tried contacting them via emailing and call. No one picks up! No reply! It's been 9 days!

I completely paid for everything!

But I have missing items sent to the wrong address!

It's been so frustrating with the customer support!

PLEASE DON'T BUY PRODUCT'S FROM KMS ONLINE!

We dealt with a couple guys here on the sales floor and they were fantastic. I needed to find a bunch of stuff, some of it quite obscure.they knew right where to go and right away knew what to recommend for substitutions for items they ran out of.

Poor experience with KMS TOOL. We will never come back. AND ASK OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOT TO PURCHASE FROM THEM.
We have ordered online orders from the stores.
They charged us on credit card, but the package was partially shipped after 5 days and notice ONLY on their website and told us that the reste need to back-ordered for 2 weeks. WHY YOU CHARGE PEOPLE IF YOU DONT EVEN SHIPPED THE PRODUCT? ? WHY ARE YOU SELL SOMETHING THAT YOU DONT HAVE? !
We tried to contact them to cancel the rest of the order and have them refund. NO ONE IS ANSWERING. ALWAYS VOICE MESSAGE AND EMAIL NO REPLY AT ALL. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER.
THEY TRY TO IGNORE US AND THE RECEPTIONIST WHO EVER ANSWER OUR CALL JUST NOT LISTEN OUR CONCERN AND TRANSFER US TO VOICE MAIL. WHAT A SERVICE.

Lots of staff around to help out. Things r locked up so u usually have to find a staff to unlock. Due to theft. But it is good because they have lots of staff to help out. This was my first experience and i would definately go back to shop again.

I just want to let everyone know I have been having such a great experience from all the staff at this location. In particular, Navid in the wood working department has been extremely helpful in taking the time to educate me about wood working, dust collection, CNC machining. All the products he has recommended me are now a must have in my shop. There was another time when a staff member was training this very young man and they saw that I needed help and both the associate and this young man helped me find the correct type of band saw. So glad to have met Navid and the rest of the team at this KMS location!

I just had the worst customer experience this store by its Manager. I bought a Hitachi 8 1/2" Mitre saw and already have 2 broken parts on it. The glider is busted and the blade cover also doesn't work anymore after only 2 1/2 months. They refuse to refund which is fair enough since it's been more than 30 days but there policy says they will give a store credit. He tells me they will give me $90 for it. It's over $450 right now!
Or I can get it fixed this time. But the problem with that is it's broken this quick already and once the warranty is done I will be stuck with a broken saw. So that's pretty unfair they sell a saw they won't give me a proper in store credit for.
He told me it's to bad, some times you get stuck with things you don't want. Really?

How about stand behind your products or don't sell us junk. I'm going to Home depot, thanks for the help

I really like KMS but they really need to get a handle on their online orders. During the Christmas season I ordered an item for store pick up. This was an in stock product yet it took 5 days to get it processed and ready for pick up. I dismissed that experience as a one off given the busy holiday season. This week I put in another online order again on an in stock item. After one day I still hadn't got confirmation of my order being ready so I just went straight to store and they suggested I just grab the item off the shelf and pay a 2nd time and then just email KMS to cancel my online order. Maybe 5 years ago 5 days to process would be acceptable but not anymore. KMS local competitors are able to process in stock items within 2hrs. Companies like Amazon can have items shipped to your door in 2 days even if it is coming from the other end of the country.

My palette jack broke in that day. I checked that in KMS in Coquitlam was one in the stock. I specially called and double checked that they had one.
I ordered it and paid. Then I took an one ton truck and my driver to pick it up.
After a half an hour when we came there, we found that they did not have the palette jack in the stock. I was told to come to another day. I spent my time for nothing, I paid to my driver and paid for gas. No palette jack.
When I was talking to the manager I could get only $20 discount.
They should hire more professional stuff.

I don't know where to start. Just go to home Depot or Lowe's. Told Michelle I had to ship the item that was unboxed (not in original packaging might be used). She handed me a box that was way to big and went on to other customers. So any money I saved I had to spend on shipping material.
