Terribly disappointed! Had my hair highlighted by Lala - and what a mess! Showed her a photo with the colour of the highlights and style. "Yes, I can do that, " she said. She did not listen, and ended up doing something completely different.rushed.and charged me a fortune - never mind the deposit she requires. I questioned her pricing (over $500 + deposit of $100*). "Didn't you see my website? I used.and. " The whole experience was upsetting from start to finish!

*I would expect this kind of pricing from a high-end salon with seasoned professionals in NYC or LA but not on Commercial Drive with someone that young and inexperienced.

My husband and friends asked me what I had done. I had to spend weeks and plenty of money undoing what Lala did. Worst colour I have ever had, bar none.

PS The owner's response is inaccurate. She is referring to the wrong person obviously. And no, Lala's pricing was not clear at the time.

Lala is absolutely amazing! She specializes in curly hair and does a fabulous job! I’ve been going back to hew for a couple years now! The salon staff are always friendly and helpful, great vibes always:)

I have been getting my hair done by Lala over three years now, and I absolutely love it. Lala saved my hair, I had no idea how to care about my hair properly. After going to several disappointing salons, I finally found Lala, a curl specialist and great professional that made me love my hair again. I am absolutely satisfied by all services I’ve gotten from Lala during these last three years (I’ve gotten hair cuts and lowlights done). If you’re looking to have a healthy and beautiful hair, I can’t recommend Lala enough?

I showed my stylist a medium pink color with bits of orange and she turned it out to be a NEON pink.i had also specified to NOT let it be a pink-orange ombre but rather, more pink and bits of orange.she did exactly what i didn’t want her to do (ombre). It looked terrible.i had to come the next day for someone else to fix my hair.they still charged me for the product used even tho the loss incurred should be on them.i wish you’d done better as i had high expectations. I am happy with the result now, but it is not what I initially asked for.

I am incredibly disappointed and heartbroken about the haircut I received from Lala. When I went in, I specifically mentioned that I had split ends and emphasized how crucial it was for my hair to be healthy. I wanted all the split ends gone, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Lala seemed concerned about matching my layers, but I made it clear that I didn't mind having shorter hair as long as it was healthy and free from split ends.

Not only do I still have split ends, but the layers are also uneven and blocky, making my hair look incredibly unattractive. I was so unhappy with the result that I straightened my hair for the first time in four years, just to see if it could salvage the look, but nothing seems to work. I've tried various styling techniques, but my hair still looks awful.

After a month of struggling with this haircut, I reached out to the salon to ask for adjustments. However, they informed me that they only offer adjustments within the first two weeks and that I would have to pay again to fix what Lala did wrong. It's important to note that within that one month, I washed my hair four times, desperately trying to make it work. The salon never mentioned this two-week adjustment policy, leaving me feeling frustrated and helpless in dealing with this situation.

Lala has changed my life! I used to straighten my hair for years, she helped me recover my curls and my hair has never looked better!

I’ve debated posting this for a while but a
Month later I’m still really upset. I’ve had multiple cuts with lala over the years and have been decently satisfied before but my last one was heartbreaking. My hair is a critical part of my image and I’ve spent years growing it out and learning to care for it. To put it in perspective I wanted a trim. I rarely heat style my hair and it’s mostly virgin hair so not damaged at all. I communicated before the appt that I wanted no more than an inch off the total length.my hair was down to below my breasts before. Now it’s shoulder length. She took over 5inches off.this will take me years to grow out. It’s also REALLY short in some places that it shouldn’t be. I was intimidated to say something at the time cause it happened so fast. She cut it so fast I couldn’t say anything and was gone the moment after. It was really rushed and most of the work was done by her assistant. Felt like I was double booked. The picture attached is NOT part of my bangs it’s way farther back. Overall super upset: (and I really tried to love it but I feel ugly and it will be years before I will have my pre cut hair back.

Lala is amazing, so professional and knowledgeable. I had the best time. Almost cried after I saw the results, it was everything I wanted.

My friend got an appointment today, due to the traffic jam I couldn’t get there on time so I called to explain, what the feedback that they give it to me is like we have to cancel your appointment due to you are late, and is late more than 15 min so it will be count as no show. I said then please reschedule me with earliest available appointment, they told me that I can reschedule but the deposit is no longer valid, Which means that I deposit 100 dollars for them to do nothing. I understand for if late they need reschedule but why I can’t get my money back. This is not even legal. I was really upset about what I been through with them. When I book the appointment no one tells me anything about they will not give refund if I’m late. The whole time I try to communicate but they seems like they don’t care at all. Is so disappointed

Love my new hair cut by Trevor. First time going to this salon and place. With wavy/curly hair, I am always hesitant about new places but my experience was great.
Will be going back.

Carol is the best stylist I’ve ever had! Ive never been able to find a stylist that I trust with my thick textured shaggy hair but she fixed my botched bangs a couple of times and she really understands the geometry of hair-especially thick, textured hair. I wasn’t feeling my best before the appointment but I left the salon feeling so confident and taken care of. Definitely coming back.

My daughter and I had the best haircuts with Lala! We have curly/wavy hair types, and this was the very first time a hair artist was able to fully enhance our curls with a cut - Just AMAZING!

I had an appointment with lala 3 months ago for curly hair cut and she did such a terrible job that I’m still suffering. The layers of my hair are ridiculous and some parts of middle is shorter than my bangs. I would recommend doing more research if you want to cut your curly hair and find someone else. I paid 150 dollars after tip and I guess it’s almost double the price of other places

Carole was amazing at doing my hair. She did an amazing purple that was done from dark to light so it would fade slowly. She also was careful with my cut since I do have curls, she was able to bring them back more defined. She allowed me to many take breaks since I have high anxiety and being touched or being close contact is very stressful. All the staff are amazing and supportive and make you feel safe. This is the only place I will get my hair done.

My appointment was with Carole and I wish I could give a review more than 5 stars.
I came in for a big change and Carole was patient and understanding in seeing the vision I had in mind. She asked for permission before cutting and made sure we were both on the same page before making any creative choices. That being said, I trusted her judgement and creative decision during the whole process.
One million out of ten.

As a first time ‘drop in’ customer, I did not know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Kelly was attentive, engaging and very professional. She won me over!

I’ve been coming here for years and love the open, inclusive atmosphere of the place, a good east van vibe. Lately had some really good cuts from Carole, thank you! Trevor and Erika are also great. Can’t go wrong here!

The worst hair cut I have ever had, lopsides, frizzy, had less curl and the product was terrible. They would not reimburse me my money. I would give a zero rating if I could.

Go to Savena to have your hair colour dreams come true. There is nothing she can't do. Super creative hair colour artist, I will be returning again and again.
