Portion is big but taste is subpar. I ordered char kway teow, chicken rice, and beef rendang nasi lemak. They all taste like the food I make at home: good attempts at making authentic Singaporean food, but there is still something missing.
The char kway teow lacks salt and signature "char" taste. The chicken in chicken rice is bland like boiled chicken. The beef rendang is not tender and has strong beef smell. The anchovies in nasi lemak is crisp but small. You can call these authentic, but they're not as good as those sold in hawker centers in Singapore.
On the other hand, the coconut rice and chicken rice is surprisingly good. The portion is quite big. The food is not too oily which is a big plus. The soup that came with the chicken rice is good.

This restaurant's Curry Laksa (seafood) was good. 4/5.

The Bak Kut Teh tasted bad. The flavour was nothing close to authentic. Even the "meh" store at crystal mall did better. You're better off making this dish yourself with a herb packet. 0/5.

The cendol was made with miniaturised ice pellets, not shaved ice. The red beans were too firm in texture. Some of the green jellies were still frozen. The gula melaka was ok but lacked oomph. 2.8/5

Hainanese Chicken Rice: the streamed chicken and ABC soup were ok. 3.5/5. The rice was cooked fine but had an unplacable flavour. 2/5.

Fried Hokkien mee has wok hei but scant taste of prawn taste or stock ($14) That is essential. The chili samba, you must asked for it, and it comes with a small teaspoon full. Pathetic.
Curry Laksa is Malaysian style. Portion is average. Curry is soupy rather than should be thicker with more depth. Chicken was my choice of protein which was delicious. Means their chicken hainanese chicken rice has potential.
Service is transactional. No conversations. In fact the plates are collected once you finishe your last mouthful. And the bill comes to you immediately. Pity. I want to try dessert but it seems they were rushing me out.

Char mee hoon ketchup base and we call this authentic malaysian? I mean I have had mee hoon with an actual tomato but i can definitrly taste ketchup base in the char mee hoon. An authentic malaysian char mee hoon is supposed to be with Balachan and some use tomatoes in them. This almost tasted like westernized " padthai " that I can get from a non-authentic Thai places. We also order hainan chicken, the rice was so overcooked that when I pour the chicken sauce, my spoonful will become soupy. We also ordered Salted fish chicken fried rice, quiet honestly, it tasted like Salted fish chicken fried rice from any Chinese restaurants except you use chopped up green bean instead of lettuce.

I am not saying they are bad (except the overcooked chicken rice) but i don't think this is an authentic malaysian restaurant like some of the people are saying here.

Not much taste, No wow factors.
Portion very small and pay a big price.

Ok this place has amazing food! We loved the satay and fried rice. It’s small but really cute and clean. Highly recommended.

This place is the most disgusting takeout l never had.
Fried chicken was over cooked and reheated (not fresh) chicken, oily and smell bad. The rice and spring rolls all had a fishy smell. Honestly don’t recommend it.

Tried this place on a food delivery app and ordered the nasi lemak with beef rendang, roti canai and kueh dadar and it was pretty good.

Second time ordered the chicken rendang and it was terrible. The chicken wasnt cooked down properly. There was barely any resemblance to what a rendang should taste like. I couldn't eat it. Very disappointed

I had seafood laksa and cendol. Both were very delicious. The laksa was hot and spicy, and the broth was quite flavourful. The cendol was a nice combo to sweeten the taste buds after having the spicy laksa.

I have nothing to complain about the food while the service is a bit slow. Beef curry was good, my husband loves it, he ordered it twice. My nesa lemak rice with rendang lamb is a great journey of flavor. Lamb was tender and marinated well with lemongrass & coconut milk. Gonna come back.

One of the best malaysian food i have had, this place definitely deserves a higher rating than 3.7.

Their mee goreng is full of flavour and wok hay! We couldn’t stop ourselves from eating it, thats why the plate was half empty. The beef curry has a hint of coconut aftertaste, which adds up to it’s fragrance and flavour.

UPDATE: finally had the food after coming back from our appointment and it was —delicious. The beef brisket was tender and sauce tasted great. The eggplant was cooked really well. I will bump them up in my books but please try to get the food prepared faster.

Took them 2 hours to make our food. We ordered three common things on the menu…. Total disappointment.

This is some of the most disgusting takeout I've ever had. Fried squid was over cooked and reheated (not fresh) chicken, rice and spring rolls all had a fishy smell. Honestly. I threw it out. Not worth the risk of food poisoning. This place should be shut down for selling this 'food'.

Some of the dishes were very good, others generic. Beef rendang and roti canai were excellent. Satay too dry and chewy. Stir fried noodles too soft. Overall I was satisfied with the dishes.

Only ordered Laksa rice noodle. Too much oil on the soup, couldn't get the taste until the removal of the oil on the surface of the soup. Didn't taste the much of the laksa spices. I didn't read the menu carefully as the print characters was tiny and didn't realize that the beef topping costed extra.

Wonderful Mom and Pop eatery on the East side of Vancouver. We just happened to be driving by on our Anniversary and thought we give it a try. The owners were very accommodating as we had a 14 month old baby in tow. Food was amazing and so was the service. If you like Malaysian food, you won't be disappointed. We’ll be back for more in the near future.

Reasonably priced lunch menu. Good food herbs were fragrant in the Curry chicken and laksa. Clean COVID safe. Malay decor. Likely family run attentive and multi lingual like most Malay. Lots of free parking in the neighborhood on Rupert. I'd recommend checking out if you have a hankering for Malaysia cuisine.
