2024.01 A Korean restaurant with a young atmosphere.
The food was clean and good.
Young Koreans also provide friendly service.
One thing to note is that the kimchi stew comes in the size of a cold noodle bowl. If you order pork belly, you get 2 bowls of rice and a clear soybean paste stew the size of a cold noodle bowl.
The portions of all stews seem to be large.

Food here is good for sharing. Kimchi jjigae was super tasty! Servers are polite and helpful with the menu.

Wait for more than one hours. Food is just so so. Don't recommend it. The restaurant employees are very unprofessional

Bad attitude, unprofessional, and food is below average.the meat is still raw, I hope I have taken the pic to show here.

J’ai pris un poulet sans os et piquant le dernier choix de la carte.
C’était délicieux! J’ai rarement mangé un poulet aussi bon! Les portions sont plus que suffisantes pour une personne.
Pensez à réserver ou alors prévoyez un peu d’attente (20 min pour ma part le samedi soir)

Good foot, about 30 minute wait for dinner on Saturday night. You check in via QR code and then receive a text when your table is ready. You can check your place in line online.

Kosoo was amazing, the service was spectacular, specially Kelly. She was wonderful. One of the best kimchis I have ever had. Will definitely come back.

We brought birthday cake in, we did not know that the restaurant don’t allow to bring other stuff outside in. If they let us know at the time we bring the cake in or when we asked for lighter “ they don’t allow to bring and eat inside the restaurant”, we will just dinner there then go. However, they didn’t notice anything, they give us the bill, we gave them 18% tips. Then we asked for lighter, they gave to us. The restaurant didn’t busy much at that time
When we took some picture and boomerang with the cake. A staff came and said with scowling tone at us. We prepared to leave. We were so sad because of how the staff treated us. And, we so regreted because we wouldn’t finished birthday for my friend. 3-4mins after we left the restaurant, a staff there gave us a black look. (What? , what is that attitude?)
A birthday celebration is so meaningful with that person.if they let us know sooner, We can completely blow out the candles in other place. Or, if they let us know with respected tone, we weren’t that sad to leave. Or if they didn’t look askew and glace angrily at us, i will not give a star.

So good! I've spent a few weeks in Korea, lived for years in Burquitlam and tried lots of Korean restaurants there, and Kosoo is definitely the best Korean food I've had to date.

Delicious food for a good price! The portions are a great size, I was so full I had to take the rest home to finish later!

Take out the supreme chicken.where's the chicken? Pieces 90% full of coating and sauce so sugary. Check today and see it, before you loose more clients.

Went on a Friday after work and it was really busy, big line! I guess there was few staff, many of them looked overwhelmed as the place was really crowded, it took like 15 minutes to one server came to our table to take the order. Besides that, the service was not prompted and attentive with things that were missing like cups and cutlery when another person from our group arrived. Food was good, we ordered half supreme fried chicken and half garlic soy sauce fried chicken, I preferred the second one better and kimchi rice, the portions were well served and prices ok but being honest nothing super outstanding that could catch my attention to go back.

It's not free, side dish. You charge $6 for 6 pieces of lettuce. Have some decency to serve food! COME ON!

I visited for lunch with my friend, the beef tendon soup and Jokbal were good. The location was convenient as well.

Great ambiance, lovely staff, and delicious Korean food with exceptionally large potion sizes. This truly is an experience to be had. It definitely deserves the hype it gets, and I'd be happy to recommend this place to anyone

We were a group of 5 and ordered many dishes. The highlight for me personally was the Soy Garlic Chicken. If you are unsure what to order, give this one a try.

Service was exceptionally friendly. The restaurant is located on the second floor so not handicapped accessible. The sweet/spicy chicken was good, however the honey was lacking flavour. Nice window view of Robson street. Most people come for the Korean soup, it seems.

I ordered their Yangnyeom Chibap. They served a good amount of chicken which was tender with sweet and spicy sauce, topped with sliced green onion, corn, and mild sauce.

However, I was not impressed by how small their portion of rice was for the big sized bowl they served. The serving of rice and chicken was not proportionate. And their rice was way too creamy because of the mild sauce.

Love coming here with my husband every time we visit Vancouver. A popular spot for locals that stays open late. Great service and food is delicious each time we come. I recommend the DOENJANG JJIGAE (SOYBEAN SOUP) which has been adjusted from the spicy traditional version for local tastes and the bone in soy garlic fried chicken with comes with corn on the cob. Not surprised they’re rated best Korean food in Vancouver. Definitely well deserved.

My girlfriend and I went there for dinner twice in a row, we had boneless Honey Fried Chicken and Tellesong (something) soup…Delicious. Exactly what we needed after two long days of hiking/strolling/shopping

The best Jokbal in town, very tender and tasty. The fried chicken is amazing, crispy outside and juicy inside. The good thing is you can order a half order of chicken instead of the big portion of the full order. The Ox bone soup is one of my favourites, it comes with hot steamed rice in a wooden pot. Good price and good service. Highly recommend!

We ordered the Yangnyeom and Honey Butter fried chicken (bone in), and the meat was very tender. The sauces for both flavours were very well done. Nothing out of this world, but they did a great job. The general ambiance and view of the street below were great since the restaurant is located on the second floor. This would be a great pick for a large group gathering.

Amazing Korean Restaurant in downtown vancouver. They have big serving. We didn’t know so ask first. We ended up taking home more food than we ate. Staff are friendly too.

Chicken here is average at best. Nothing special. I also didn’t realize I’m getting a whole deep fried chicken with the full order, not just legs/wings - nobody wants to eat deep fried breast.

Food was amazing. We were just walking and decided to give this place a try. Didn't expect much, but they proved me wrong. By the way it's not just chicken. They have a huge menu.

My first ever time having Korean chicken. We ordered the soy garlic half portion and rice and it was too much for both of us to eat. I can't think of anywhere else that you would get such good value for $25

Food is tasty. Wait time is a bit long on Friday’s nights and weekends. Remember to scan the QR code at reception to line up.

Really enjoyed their fried chicken and generous side dishes. Their staff was friendly and sitting by the window overlooking Robson Street is great.

My review is only for the service, the food was great! But the service was.extremely disappointing. We went on a Wednesday for dinner, one of us has severe allergies towards eggs and fish, and we wanted to double check so we can order additional dishes for her. Apparently this is too inconvenient for the server as she followed our question with "what do you want me to do? Go back the kitchen and check? " Their manu literally says "let servers know in advance in regards to any food allergies". From that point on, the server continuously gave us attitude throughout the dinner, such as rolled her eyes, slammed the take out box and plastic bag on the table at the end of the dinner. I'll still go for the food but I think they should train their servers better.

I'm Korean and I must say this is the best Korean fried chicken so far in downtown Vancouver! Golden fried crispy is a must.

It is ok, but could be 10 times better! Especially because one of the most respected chefs in the city is connected to this place. The chef's signature talents were in all the side dishes and the presentation. But, the chicken was not up to standard, at all. I felt like someone went mad with an ax in a chicken coop. There were fried crabs (an awful surprise when I am expecting the taste of succulent chicken) in the mix but we were not told.luckily no one at the table had a shellfish allergy as that could have been a life and death situation. I arrived early and before I was seated I was informed I had to leave within 2 hours (it is rare to be told to leave before we are even seated). The seasoning was not up to the standards I expected. The bathroom was in deplorable state. NOW for the good stuff. THE SIDE DISHES were exquisite! Little dishes of quintessential Korean side dishes, refilled as needed.delectable fried potatoes, the chef's amazing kimchi, crisp radishes and so much more. And the most divine Korean soup tarty and umami and filled with mouthwatering meat, tofu and vegetables. I love those. I will definitely be returning once they have worked the kinks out and raised the bar in fried chicken. I really do look forward to my second try as soon as possible.

Golden crispy chicken is absolutely amazing. Jeon-Gol is good too especially in winter. Bit pricey but always fulfilled.

I tried their chicken and kimchi jjigae. Sooo good! I want to go back try more different dishes.

One of, if not, the best Korean restaurant in the lower mainland. Food is incredible, everything tastes great, from the kimchi to the ox bone soup.

The flavor was great. But the one bad thing i wanna tell is about server.

When Waitress with short black hair get an order, i asked her about menu in detail.
(Cus i couldn't understand about menu)
She explained just shortly. So i couldn't understand well.

And she deeply sighed in front of me
and Had a nasty way of talking.

I never had like this terrible experience in the other restaurants.
I wanted to go out of there right away.
But I held for my friends.

Even though there is busy, but the waitress was not supposed to be rude to customer like that.

I never would go there again!

Its a trendy place that has tasty Korean fried chicken. The fried chicken has a nice flavor and crunchy consistency. A nice location to have chicken and beer with friends, granted, there's also Korean foods on the menu as well. The fried chicken came with some pickled radish, corn and deep fried baby crab things that are delicious.

Went to kosoo for the first time. Looking online they had a huge menu, when we got to the restaurant half the menu was crossed out. That was ok because we were there for the fried chicken. The Korean sides were good, crystal noodles and bulgogi were nice, but the chicken is the Star. We had the full half and half, and the honey chicken. Both were very tasty.

Basically its an average Korean Fried Chicken place.

10 of us, we had:
1) original fried chicken
2) yangyeom fried chicken
3) soy / garlic chicken
4) Kimchi Jeon (pancake)
5) Seafood Jeon (pancake)

Fried chicken:
regardless what flavour we go for, they include mostly breast meat, and its not that it should not be but to pull off good fried chicken with breast meat is hard and frankly speaking they did not do a good job.but in terms of how well fried chicken is made, i would say it is fine, at the very least the chef did a good job frying them as the chicken does not retain the oil soaking in the batter.

Soy and garlic chicken:
i have to say the teokbokki in it that was slightly fried, taste amazing with the sauce.

Kimchi and Seafood Pancake:
first appearance it looks like a fusion dish and also taste fusion too as it is covered with cheese over the pancake. Surprisingly enough they manage to get the pancake fried to fragrance and slight crispy despite have it melted with cheese on the top.

They also have a good range of Ban chan (small dishes) and they are amazing.
