You may have read a review from 4 years ago about Christopher Boulton and how they had a horrible experience. 4 years later and I've come to tell you that absolutely nothing has changed. Avoid at all costs.

Both Christopher (Chris) Boulton and his assistant, Sandy Sandhu, have consistently been tardy, uncommunicative, and unprofessional.

At the beginning, Chris was supposed to call me for an initial talk but did not call me. I had to call him. Initially, I thought this was fine as things can get busy and life gets in the way.

We then began the process to create wills, power of attorneys, and representation agreements for my fiancee and I. We agreed that I would be sent the drafts over email before meeting, so that I could take my time to review them. Weeks go by without an update and I had to follow up with Sandy myself on how the documents were coming along. After this follow-up, he scheduled me in for a meeting, without mentioning the drafts at all.

I had to bring up the drafts myself and they assured me that they would send me the drafts before the meeting. Two days before the meeting comes by, and still no drafts. I had to follow up with them myself to ask for the drafts again. They gave me the drafts less than 24 hours before the meeting. As they gave me the drafts right before the meeting, I would not have time to review them in detail before the meeting. So, I had to delay the meeting.

As I reviewed the drafts that weekend, there were more than 15 errors in basic spelling, formatting, and naming. I am not looking for perfection, but this was just embarassing - especially from a "professional law service".

As I pointed out these errors to them, Sandy had the audacity to try and define to me what a draft means in a condescending manner instead of just simply apologizing for the inconvenience. Yes, Sandy, we all know what a draft means. However, for professional law services, a meeting to proofread drafts is not to review over 15+ spelling, naming, and formatting errors. Rather, the meeting should focus on finalizing whether the intent of the customers were correctly captured in the documents or not. They wasted my time and efforts on reviewing things that should not be my responsibility. I was paying your firm for a service, not the other way around.

At this point, I've had it with them and wanted to go our separate ways. They said they'd reimburse me and send me a cheque, refunding my deposit. A cheque in the lower mainland takes 2 weeks, maximum, to deliver. It has been 3 weeks and I still have not seen any sign of the cheque.

For the past 5 years since my MVA I have had the pleasure to work with the most awesome legal team at KSW Lawyers in Surrey BC.

Tony and his legal team of Karen Ibarra and Carolina Gray offered the legal support that in the end gave me the financial and emotional settlement I needed to be able to go forward with my life.

Sadly, when asked to provide service charges, they said I have to pay for 2hrs or $500 fee, before they tell me how much their service will cost. It’s like going to store & asking if you carry the item or how much it cost, but advised to pay fee to know how much item will cost or they even carry.

What if after paying you find out this firm does not even provide that service, so what will happen to my $500?
