Too many bad service from the servers so we just use ubereats to not tip the servers.food is 3/5 because the hamburger steak was worse than frozen dinner. Pancit and breakfast options are decent.

TAPSILOG was mostly burnt and inedible and chewy. When we told our server she brought it to the back and said we can exchange it for Palabok. 15 min later she came back with the tapsilog trying to give it back to us saying that's how it should be. Eventually they exchanged it but charged us $8 still just because we ate the egg. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SERIOUSLY YOU CAN GO SOME OTHER FILIPINO RESTAURANT IN THE AREA AND HAVE BETTER Tasting FOOD AND SERVICE.

Decent place for Filipino food. The pork and chicken skewers were really good as well as the silogs.

Food is mediocre. We couldn't finish our food so we have to take them home and guess what? ! We paid $0.30 for each container. My advise, ORDER LESS OR JUST ENOUGH to finish it there.

Why were the chicken skewers and rice we ordered cold when it came to the table? I know the door says help wanted. Are you looking to hire a microwave? Also the Ube cake was so dry. The only thing good at this place is the Lumpia.

Disappointing! For the price that they charge they could make the quality of their food wAaayyy better! I ordered Bangsilog and in the description it says boneless milkfish, mind you, that fish was not boneless at all. It was too small and the only distinct flavor is the sourness of the vinegar! I could not even dip it on that side vinegar they gave me since its super sour already, no garlic flavor or atleast pepper. They also did not ask how you want your egg done, they just served an over easy egg to the sizzling burger steak that my husband ordered. The garlic rice was okay nothing special. I also ordered saba con hielo and it lacked sweetness for 8plus dollars it was not worth it! It’s sad that this restaurant did not live up to the standards of Filipino Food, too bad this is one way of showcasing our food to other foreign nationals but because we Filipinos settle with sub par quality most often our Filipino food does not get the recognition it deserves. Sorry, but I think you need to re-check the taste of your food. On the bright side, Service was fair it was not bad and not exceptional either, atmosphere is relaxed and its comfortable. But, I don’t think we are willing to spend another $50 here.

Deeply disappointed with this restaurant, I took my wife here hoping she'd be able to enjoy some Filipino food the flavors of her home country, but that didn't happen.

Since she can't cook truly traditional Filipino food at home without making some compromises to the dish for my sake, I thought this would be a place to take her for a taste of home.

She ordered a boneless milk fish one of her favorites normally, but what she got was a tiny over soured fish full of bones, I ordered a safe option for myself burger steak.pretty simple

What I got was two meatball lumps of ground beef that in a near tasteless gravy with a cup of rice and some frozen mixed vegetables tossed over the top, I was never asked how I'd like the egg served with it tobe cooked as a result I received a over easy runny egg that I had to give to my wife as I won't eat it.

The Beef itself did not taste fresh and had a sour aftertaste to the point I didn't finish the meal.

So the meal portions for both meals where small and of poor taste and not fresh, but the service was at a minimal level of acceptable, the place was clean however and friendly it could be a decent place to eat in the future if the owner take reviews to heart and address the many issues with food quality and presentation.

We 100% will not return but I hope they learn and grow.

The $50.00 we spent here wasn't worth it. Overpriced unquality, and just underwhelming I'm sorry I wish I could say otherwise.

We went to Kumare for a late lunch last Tuesday, July 18, we ordered Pork Sisig, it was one of the lousiest sisig we’ve ever had- they used meat from previous day- hard to chew and didn’t taste fresh.
We were sitting far away from the kitchen but the staff were talking so loud we could hear them- very unprofessional.

Poor service. Cant get the order correctly. And staff talking bad to customers in tagalog to non-filipino

Lack of customer service. Food is tiny and basic. The bowl of rice was bigger than some of the main entries.

Really expensive for the size of it. Order adobo chicken and all we got was chicken ends and bones. Really disappointed

Great Filipino food! Had a take out of various dishes and it was excellent. Yummy! Highly recommended!

Service was extremely subpar. Constantly had to hound the server for things that are standard like a literal glass of water.
Food portions have significantly reduced for the price.
Had to remind the server that the breakfast set on their menu came with coffee.

Food and service is a hit and miss. They close at 8: 00pm and tonight at 7: 24pm I called for pick up and the lady asked what time for pick up and I said like soon or whenever it's ready before you close coz I am on the way and she said oh sorry we are closed. Really? I always pick up dinner most Fridays there and you are closed? False info naman. Very disappointing.

Honestly wish I didn’t have to leave this review but the quality of the food was so terrible that this needs to be posted. Extremely sad to say we are very disappointed in first time order of Caldereta at the Richmond location ordered June 2/2023.
This dish is supposed to be a lovely delicious hearty stew known for its extremely tender beef.
Not only was the dish very small for $24, the beef was minimal (4 small pieces of meat -but oddly with very LARGE pieces of FAT attached to each one!), —even worse, the beef was hard and chewy- far from soft and tender and it didn’t taste fresh at all.
On top of that, there were no olives, only a few pieces of peppers, only TWO small pieces of potato and some green peas.
The sauce was not even close to what we are used to (thick, rich and flavourful is what it usually tastes like). But this sauce was thin and bland.
Really really disappointing.

We’re visiting BC and felt so hungry after a very long drive. This is the nearest restaurant we could find close to our hotel. We are very disappointed with the service and the food. Better find another filipino restaurant.

Update Feb 20,2023: it’s been 3 times now that I arrived at the restaurant being told that they are closed. The closing time never matches the ones advertised on maps or even their door sign. Will not be wasting my time here again.

Probably the best Filipino restaurant in the Greater Vancouver area. Flavors are on point which is a rarety as foreign cusine usually tends to get skewed out of their home country.

Only thing keeping keeping this away from a 5-star is that it's dishes are often quite oily even for traditional Filipino standards.

The food is good except too salty everything from soup to any dish cause we went 3 times as a big group for breakfast and pancit or lomi- and even if we request to go easy on salt- it's still salty. The rice is also always pasty!

Ordered the pork sisig. After a couple bites, we felt like we were eating fish, not pork. We kindly asked if they also offer fish sisig (if so, it could have been a mistake). They said yes, but what we got was definitely pork. We said okay thanks. We had a few more bites and inspected the dish closely, still not convinced it’s actually pork and asked someone if she could ask the kitchen. Kitchen apparently said it’s pork. She attributed the fishy taste to the fact the sisig was mixed with mayonnaise (which doesn’t make sense), and she didn’t feel confident with whatever explanation she was trying to give.

In the end, it’s not about whether it was actually pork or fish but how issues should be handled. First, don’t shut the customer down by insisting it’s this and that. Listen. Make us feel heard. Two, offer something because clearly the customer noticed something was off with the taste (whether to offer to cook a new one or taking it off the bill).

In the end, it may just be bad tasting sisig, even if it was actually pork. But that’s beside the point of how to handle customers. Can’t expect much from a restaurant that has a ‘Help Wanted’ sign out front. I haven’t been back in several years and wanted to give them a try again despite the unfavourable reviews, but alas, this is definitely the last time.
