La Notte Restaurant

Situated at a quiet corner of Dunbar St.is a charming, family owned restaurant called La Notte that serves up some incredibly delicious Italian eats.

Mussels were plump, moist, tender, juicy, and flavorful. These were some of the best mussels I've had in a very long time.

Marguerita Pizza was tasty but more cheese would have been preferred.

Eggplant Parmigiano far exceeded my expectations. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about ordering this dish. The last time I ordered eggplant in an Italian restaurant, I found that the eggplant was not as soft as I had hoped it would be, and was very much lacking in flavor. Not the case with this eggplant dish. My husband tried my Eggplant Parmigiana and he was blown away by it as well.

Linguine Alla Vongole and the Fettucine that came with my Eggplant Parmigiana had both been cooked al dente and were accompanied with very flavorful sauces.

It's been awhile since I've had a good Tiramisu, and this was definitely a good one!

In most respects the service was decent; however, we were a bit turned off by response our server gave when one person in our group inquired about the chocolate cake they were serving for dessert. He asked the server if she could describe the chocolate cake. Her response seemed to imply that it was a stupid question to ask. As though we should already know from the name of the dessert, that it's a cake and it's chocolatey. The question was asked though in the hopes of receiving information that might describe whether it was moist, or dense, or filled with chocolate ganache, or whether it had a crunchy wafer in the middle, or whether it was covered in chocolate buttercream frosting. Our server's response was quite a turn off. Aside from this though.service was good throughout the rest of the evening.

Portions were small for the price. We ordered takeout and the top lids were sparkling clean because of how not-full the containers were filled. Fettuccine Alfredo was pretty bland, but the bruschetta was tasty.

Great family Italian.and they’ve added Lasagna as a special, sometimes available item! Definitely worth having if it’s available when you visit.

Incredible dishes, fresh homemade meals. Huge portion sizes, lovely staff and atmosphere. We shared three dishes and all were fantastic!

Absolutely unreal in every way. Food 10/10. Service 11/10. Value 10/10. One of the best meals AND service I’ve ever had. I don’t know how they do it for $25/plate but incredible job to all involved and thanks for a great experience

I am writing this as a SERIOUS warning to all future and potential dinners. Please take a moment to read as it concerns your health and safety.

I have SEVERE dairy allergy and have been ordering takeout and eating at this restaurant for MONTHS now. I called a number of times before to make sure that an item i regularly order has no milk or cheese in it whatsoever as it would make me very ill. The staff there assured me that it is dairy free.

But this evening when i ordered again, door dash called me and said the restaurant wanted to clarify about my allergy, so i called the restaurant. The OWNER picked up and told me that the dish i wanted actually has dairy in it. I am in complete shock and horror. Now it makes sense why I have been having hives and diarrhea before. God forbid your children have a more serious allergy; they could die, not an exaggeration.

If you are reading this, PLEASE, do not support this restaurant. Their management is in disarray and the staff most definitely does not care about your wellbeing. I am actually considering litigation. Stay safe.

Stopped in early on a Friday. Lovely piano player going and I tried the Veal Ossobucco. Omg it was DELICIOUS! Definitely try it out. Next time I will get the linguine clams that sounds amazing too. Very attentive and friendly staff. Def be back!

Overall, the food was good. Definitely worth it considering the price. The service was good.they gave us so much cheese for the pasta (you really can't complain).

The vibe of the place is cozy. Feels like a family own/run business. Servers are super chill and friendly. Warning, they will joke around with you.so if you got 0 humour, good luck.

They also have specials that aren't on the menu, so it's a surprise each time you go.

What are the cons? In my opinion, it's not a place where I see myself coming often. Mainly because I'm someone who wants to try something new and exciting. Something that is unique. Other reason is because I live 1h drive away.

Do I recommend? Yes! It really helps fills the pasta cravings.

Tip: the food is better eaten fresh at the restaurant and not as takeout.

As other reviewers have mentioned, their tortellini is disappointing.do not order tortellini dishes unless you enjoy them mushy.they do not know how to cook it

Waiter was not receptive to criticism. He had an air of arrogance when it comes to how the food is suppose to be.
There was also a feeling that the waiter was intentionally ignoring us.
