La Ruota Pizzeria

I recently visited La Ruota Coquitlam with high expectations, but unfortunately, I was left quite disappointed due to the excessive wait time and misleading information about my order.

Soon after placing my order, I was informed that my pizza was in the oven, which initially sounded great. However, as minutes turned into half an hour, my patience started to wear thin. The raw pizza went into the oven only a mere 3 minutes before it was finally served to me.

I have tight schedule this night and you guys total screwed it up!

Volume conscious, Saturday needs more smooth attendance at front. By the slice was a bit old. The bottom is not typically crispy, borderline with char, and awkward to eat as the slice does not stand. I hope to enjoy this as I do other pizza garden locations or when it first opened. Maybe offer dip or oiled crust to combat dryness during reheating.

Update:
Was invited back and wow! I was recommended the Bugogi pizza, and it was heavenly! (Just look at the photo) The ribeye was juicy, and the bugogi flavor was spot on with a kick of heat. I truly enjoyed every bite and tasted why La Ruota has a high rating. I will definitely be back for the Bugogi pizza and to try the other flavors of their pizzas.

The owner truly cares for the customer's experience and making delicious premium pizzas!

Reviews brought me here, but unfortunately, the taste didn't do it for me. For me, the pizza was so sweet. The pizza sauce was overwhelmingly sweet for me. I got the Primo with Vegan cheese.
They were friendly and attentive at the front with good vibes overall.
Maybe I'll try again.

This pizza is so good. My favourite slice is chicken with sundried tomatoes and peppers I believe. Don’t pass by this pizzeria you’ll regret not going $4 bucks a slice but it’s worth it! Also there’s BEER. Keep on keeping on what you’re doing guys!

In my quest for culinary delights, I found myself yearning for a Funghi pizza with a garlic crust so my gastronomic journey led me to La Routa Pizzeria nestled in the heart of Coquitlam. The gracious staff allowed me to customize my pizza to perfection. The combination of earthy mushrooms on top of cheese, and half with vibrant pesto and the other half with Alfredo transported me to a realm of pure aromatic bliss. This place comes with my highest endorsement.

Asked for a plain cheese pizza over the phone, not 4 cheese. They put blue cheese on it (gorgonzola) and ruined our dinner. They should be more clear and communicate better.

Delicious wood oven pizza! What more can I say. The family owned restaurant was full and for a yummy reason. The wine and prosecco mixed drinks were great additions to the food. I came early and was able to get a spot at the bar to order food. The parking lot is tight and it may be better just to park on the side street by the gas station.

Very good pizza maybe even better than how the original Pizza Garden in downtown used to be. The staff is great!

I ordered a variety of pizzas from La Ruota for pickup and was impressed with the service, taste and general atmosphere of the Pizzeria. The pizza shop has a well kept, clean look to it with a glass display of freshly cooked pizzas on display. The employees that greeted me were polite, friendly and outgoing and that's actually refreshing. I needed the pizzas a little earlier than they were usually open and they helped me get that done without question. I was able to get the pizzas to everyone at work on time. Everyone was thought the pizzas were fantastic. Quality ingredients cooked to perfection in a true stone oven, great chewy crust that finished great being dipped into the dip sauce. These were also an 18" inch pizza at a reasonable price which you don't see too often. Overall very impressed with everything.

We got two pizzas from here. We weren't disappointed at all. The flavour was good. The dough was light and crisp just at the edges. Was great to have them both with beer.

Delicious pizzas thin and crispy, friendly staff, and fair price, for sure we will coming back.

Ordered a pizza for a specific time. Recieved an email in 20 minutes that my pizza was ready. Called them to tell that the order was placed to be ready in 1.5 hours later. Was promised to serve a fresh pizza at the requested time. Arrived at specified time, was given the cold pizza that they prepared 1.5 hours ago. The party was ruined.
Never ordering from this place again.

FYI: That was a pickup and not delivery

I’m so disappointed! I ordered and waited more than 90 min for my order to come complete cold! I mean not even warm it was cold. The driver didn’t even have an insulated bag. Unacceptable

We were excited to try a new pizza place that uses a stone oven, as we love brick and stone over pizzas. Unfortunately, this was an incredible let down. I ordered online for delivery. After an hour I called in to get an ETA on when it might be coming and was told it would still be at least an hour (there was no ETA on the website or the email confirmation I had received). I understood, they were short staffed for drivers, I just wish we'd received some kind of information to let us know it would be a two hour wait.

I told them I'd come and pick it up as I'm not that far away. They told me it would be ready in about a half an hour. So I went in, picked it up, and it was ready when I got there.

However, our disappointment didn't end there. The pizza was.not great. The extra large we got was soggy, and the large cheese pizza we got for the kids only had cheese on about half of it. The wings were chewy. The garlic cheese toast was a big hit with the kids at least.

Big waste of $80.

The staff were very friendly and the service was so fast. The pizza was well cooked I visit your store a lot of times but Saturday I come your store.pizzas is delicious tasty I give you rate about 10/10 tht your pizza maker doing very great job I come there like 4 thanks alot I recommend my friends aswell keep it up

Awesome quality and super friendly staff, have always had nothing but positive experiences, only slight thing is finding parking can be tricky but it’s not abysmal at all

It's a different thin crust option for take out pizza if you don't feel like having more of the doughy usual in the likes of Panago, Dominos, Fresh Slice, etc. But that's just it, it's a take-out quality pizza so don't expect anything mind-blowing.

The venue is definitely a step above your usual pizza joint. It's more modern and cozy looking. By the slice, costs about ~$4 /slice or so. If you just want a few slices to eat there, they would warm up the ones on the display for you. I think because they've been sitting on the display and got warmed up, the dough lost that elasticity and chewiness compared to fresh made pizza, but that's really unavoidable for anything that's been sitting on display counter. So maybe you'll get better ones if you order a whole pan size

I've been going to this place for quite a while now, I've remember last world cup me and my friends were kicking it with great pizza having to watch soccer on their big TV screens

Very good pizzeria in the heart of the city. You can take pizza by the slice. They have both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The slices are of good size. Definitely a go to spot if you are in the area.

The pizza showed up on time. Otherwise, I’d say it’s very close to being almost okay. Thin crust veggie pizza. Not a lot of toppings yet the slice is so floppy I had trouble picking it up and half the toppings rolled off onto my shirt. The taste was almost okay, maybe a bit less. I wouldn’t order again unless I had no other options, including just settling for a peanut butter sandwich.

This pizza is the regular vegetarian - not the Neapolitan.

This store was so disorganized and dirty. Employees kept on talking with each other while making the pizza with no faces covered or anything. Disgusting!

A very delicious gluten free 14 inch pizza to be sure. However the cost is such that unfortunately it will be only a once in a while treat

Visited this lovely pizza place with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We got the bulgogi and Hawaiian slices, and they were delicious! Everything from the patio seats to the interior of the store has a clean, cozy, and welcoming vibe. Not to mention the awesome pizza and friendly staff! Would definitely come back again:)

I ordered a pizza half no cheese because one of my family members is lactose intolerant and they told me it was possible and they'd do it, but when I received the pizza they didn't. When I called the restaurant didn't seem to care that the order was wrong, and didn't offer to resolve the problem at all. The attitude of the employee on the phone was rude and dismissive.

I visit with my friend Bonnie that day. The manager is super nice and the pizza is deliciously. Highly recommended!

Forgot my order twice. Had to wait for 45 minutes and they charge me twice because they mistook me with another customer. Pizza itself was decent. Staff were polite and offered me free pops. But overal did not enjoy the experience.edit: changing my two stars to one star based on the reply because apparantly I didn’t acknowledge their effort. Even though I clearly did up there.

This is our Go-To for Neapolitan style pizza (thin crust). Toppings are plentiful, fresh and the selection of meats is authentic Italian too, meaning you will not find cheap grocery-store pepperoni anywhere near La Ruota’s prep or cook area. The flavour and textures will bring you as close as you can get to the region of Naples as you can get.
Another thing to be noted, that is required to be “authentic” is the type of cheese. This makes all the difference, Fior di Latte, a cow's milk mozzarella created according to the procedure for which it was registered as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed.

Our company bought from La Routa on Pizza Day and they were delicious. Will buy some for myself in the near future.

Pizza is really good and I know it because I’m italian. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the waitress working there, cause she is rude and doesn’t treat costumers nicely. Can I
decide when i’m going to sit down or she does? Edit: they just wasted a pizza. For me is a sacrilege.

We have been ordering here for years and it’s been pretty solid food but tonight, we ordered the same pizza we always have with just grano padano cheese and instead got a pizza with just sauce meat and bread.

I called and asked about it and was initially told “they would note it and put more next time” which I was kind of surprised by.

I talked to someone else who told me that’s the way they do it now and there was nothing they could or would do about it.

No offer to make a different pizza, or any kind of credit, no apology even. Just an extra large piece of flat bread with some sparse sauce and meat.

Thanks for the memories. Famoso it is from now on I guess.

Loved their pizza. Was very dissappointed today with the service today. My old auntie ordered a full size pizza with different flavors- the server intentionally selected all the small size ones (sliding big ones away first) and put them in the box. My auntie even asked to mix some bigger ones; the server didn’t even care to respond. Our family has always been a fan and had their pizza but after today’s bad experience, we are not going again.

It happen like this again tod，and most over coke on topping，i stared eat at this restaurant five years ago，so now its not like real La Routa pizza what i got！

Great pizza, unfortunately the last few orders I’ve gotten have been wrong (asked for vegan cheese, didn’t get it, ordered margarita pizza, needed up not having any basil on it, etc.) I don’t trust them to get my order right anymore so I doubt I’ll be buying from them again. Literally made an online order at 831 pm, and got a call after 3 minites telling me that they wouldn't accept any orders post 830pm and my order would be cancelled as the kitchen was "already closed".

Ended up buying a frozen pizza from Walmart due to the inflexibility La Ruota's staff cancelling an order cuz it was ordered 1 minute post internal cut off time.

I would say it’s fair at best. There are much, much better options for neopolitan pizza in Tri Cites. I won’t be back.

The pizza was amazing and high quality the cheese was so good! The price was defently worth it.the location is amazing, I normally get my pizza and then get boba from ninja bubble tea then go to the swings beside La Ruota

I also noticed that someone else said workers are not paid properly. I believe this, as often delivery pizza is soggy and undercooked. A bad work environment = a bad product. I've also seen who I assume is the manager screaming red-faced at employees in the back, where everyone can see. Rotten vibes.

$64 for a med and a large pizza. One came squished to the side of the box inside. Thin af crust, not very flavorful.

Hands down, The best pizza place in all of coquitlam maybe even the tri cities. Unreal, I am an avid food connoisseur specializing in sushi and pizza. La Ruota gets a solid 10/10 on all fronts. Classic Neapolitan style done right. If you want thick crust pizza and complain about their dough style you dont want pizza you want a submarine sandwich in a giant loaf. If you want real pizza come to La Ruota you wont be disappointed! Keep doing what you are doing guys! Never change!:)

Love their pizza! Yes, it's a bit more expensive than some other places but here you get quality pizza made on stone oven. They also serve beer!

I ordered two large pizza, Pancetta and Hawaiian, on-line to pick them up an hour later. But less than 15min, they sent me a text saying the order was already ready for pickup and called me and said that the order was set to a time that wasn't even available on-line. The pizzas were just okay.

Very poor experience for ordering pizza. The crust was burnt and we had to order lunch again. I sent an email with the pictures, they contacted me and after 3 weeks didn’t hear back from them. Such a bad experience.

Authentic Neapolitan pizza. Amazing flavor without the excessive toppings and grease of North American pizza fast food joints.

I recommend the Bulgogi if you want to try something different, it's so damn tasty. Or if you want something classical made as close as possible to real Italian pizza I would go with the deli italiano or pepperoni.

5 years min we have been grabbing pizza from here.
Don’t think we often have the same pizza twice, always trying something new.
Favourite thing is coming in when they’re making fresh buy by the slice pizzas and I’ll grab two slices of everything, take home a large. Goes great with the Dive Bomb beer.

Good Neapolitan pizza, crust has a good chew. Nice fermentation with the dough, good digestion (If you are a neapolitan pizza fan you that's important). Lots of toppings for a Neapolitan pizza which is nice to see. Good flavour combinations. Wish the pizza had a bit more colour, will ask for well done next time. Will be back.

Very poor experience and overpriced product. Tried them a few times for delivery and pick up based on reviews but was disappointed each time. Delivery took over an hour and the pizzas were cold and soggy/flimsy. Customer service is also extremely poor, staff doesn't greet you and keeps you waiting when picking up.

Pizza by the slice is overpriced and such a poor value, don't know why anyone would pay these prices for slices that have been waiting out for some time.

Delicious pizza by the slice and full order. Great size on individual slices. They have a combo that comes with a drink too, pretty good value.

This used to be a good place - now it is overpriced and subpar quality. Maybe management changed because now prices are the same but slices are way smaller and dry (they keep them under the heater too long without making a fresh batch).

Management does not pay any heir workers properly for training and working on holidays.

Pizza was not that good

This little pizza place never disappoints. The best pizza around. I used to live right above it then moved to maple ridge. I make the drive back there just for this pizza!

La Routa’s pizza is the best in the Tri-cities by a mile! With similar prices to Panago, you are getting amazingly fresh ingredients. There has been a bit of a wait with covid restrictions, but it’s to be expected.

Edit: They responded to my review, which is great. They asked me to send them my number, which I did. I emailed them twice but didn't hear back, either via email or phone.

The pizza itself was very good. It tasted great. It was, however, cold. The pizza was consumed within 5 minutes of me picking it up. Why was it cold then?
Well, When I ordered the pizza for pick-up online I chose an option to be notified of the progress of the pizza (in their restaurant they have a screen that customers can see which states what stage of readiness the pizza is in) and gave my phone number and email. When I got my order confirmation it did not have an estimated pickup time. Didn't think that that would be an issue as I would receive notifications.
After half an hour of waiting I decided just to go down there as I had not received any notification of the progress. When I walked in I saw that they had processed 20 other orders passed mine. My pizza was finished and had been sitting there for an unknown period of time.
When I enquired about the pizza I was told that "sorry, we don't give notifications when it's busy. " Ok, thanks, but that doesn't warm up my cold pizza.
If a company offers a service, I expect them to stand by it. If the order had said "receive notifications unless it's peak business hours" then whatever. I wouldn't have expected it. It did, however, tell me that I would be notified, thereby breaking the word of the company. If a company cannot stand by what they say they do it breaks trust with the customer.

I ordered from them a previous time and had the opposite experience. I received a notification saying that my pizza was almost done and then that it was done. When I arrived I waited around for 15 minutes as they made and cooked my pizza.

Both situations annoying. The staff didn't do anything about either screw-up. If I am to buy pizza that is more on the expensive side, I expect the service to equal to the cost of the food. It was not on either occasions.
I do not feel compelled to give them another chance.

This place was definitely better a few years ago. Now the staff barely greets you when you walk in or make an order, no description of any of the by the slice pizza selections yet they price it like a premium pizza place. I go because their vegetarian pizza is still better than average and there isn't a better place nearby. If it wasn't for that, it's extremely average.

That is NOT all, apparently, La Ruota started adding oregano to pizzas?

We have ordered through the phone (x10) asking for no oregano, we get oregano. We try ordering online so that "NO OREGANO" is clearly typed out.we STILL GET OREGANO.

HOW, CAN WE GET OUR PIZZA WITHOUT OREGANO? PLEASE STOP.

I ordered two mediums last night (they even discount it if you buy two). 5 Toppings $12 each.
I normally get their thick crust which is really good but order thin which it also excellent. They have a lot of great toppings and their standard meat and veggies are smart choice of toppings. Family owned and run and they are friendly and professional. This is now my new favorite pizza place and I'm not easy to please.

Great Napolean Style pizza place. We used to go to a more homestyle pizza place in Central Coquitlam but since finding out about this place we haven't been back. Pizza is light and very tasty. Great crust. Personally I think it is better heated up when you get home.

The best neopolitan style pizza you can get in the TriCities! Parma Proscuitto and
Patate Gorgonzola are A1. Order extra garlic dip because it’s the best

Being a neighbourhood joint, they are one of the better pizza's. Well no wait specca makes better pizza. But then we are not comparing apples to apples.

This rating is from the mere fact that while your quality used to be way better, Ruota you have started operating like a fresh slice or a panago. And if I wanted a fresh slice or a panago I'd go there. But you guys used to be so much better than them, why the change?

Incredibly greasy and salty.
I understand pizza in general is supposed to be fast food but this is something else. You're eating 50% grease by weight.

This pizza is to die for! It’s always made to perfection, and tastes so fresh. My favourites are the mushroom fungi with white sauce or the pizza magic. I really hope La ruota opens bigger size locations in the future to dine in, because this is one of the best pizzas in Vancouver!

Great place to grab pizza by slice or full option. Great menu, fresh ingredients, staff is great and their thin crust breads dont make you feel bloated. Will be visiting them often.
