Lady Rose Marine Services

Took a return trip from Port Alberni down to Bamfield with some out-of-country visitors. Nice smooth trip really shows the west-est of the west coast. Good boat, basic food on-board, super friendly crew.

We went on the trip from Port Alberni to Bamfield via remote communities to drop off suplies. The scenery was spectacular and so was the wildlife viewing. (4 humpback whales, Black bears on the shoreline, numerous sea lions and Bald eagles). The boat stopped at Bamfield for an hour and a half which was time enough to sample the delights of this historic and beautiful little community. The Captain provided relevant local information en route which enhances the trip. The boat provides basic food and a bar for refreshments throughout the day trip. We were lucky as well with the weather providing a brilliant relaxing adventure.

Great massage. My neck and shoulders were tensed up and Cindy worked them out. Great hands.

Found a sunny day to make a day trip. The price is right, and the crew were helpful and friendly. We saw sea lions, orca whales, and a humpback! A very relaxing and scenic day indeed.

A group of friends spent a stellar day aboard the Frances Barkley yesterday. From the moment I reserved our spots, to the time we disembarked, the staff and crew treated us exceptionally well.

The scenery was breathtaking and the captain pointed out places of special interest as we passed, as well as taking us closer to wildlife in order to get better photos. We were treated to viewing several sea lions basking in the sun and enjoyed listening to them bark.

We had delicious and reasonably priced breakfasts and lunches on board. It was fun watching freight getting unloaded onto a homemade barge — reminding us the Frances Barkley provides a valuable service to the people of the Port Alberni inlet. We also enjoyed an hour walk around Bamfield before our return to Port Alberni.

All in all, a fabulous day! Thanks to everyone at the Lady Rose Marine Services!

Can't recommend this experience highly enough. Many whale sightings, and the hike to Brady's Beach was superb.so much so, this 59 year old did a cartwheel on the beach.:)

We recently went on the Lady Rose and it was a great experience. The staff that run the boat are very courteous and friendly.

If you don't want to pack a lunch, the galley below serves great food for a decent price. Breakfast was awesome. Bring cash though for food as that's all they accept.

Depending on the amount of freight they need to drop, you can stay in Bamfield for 1-2 hours. The boardwalk is nice, but I wished I had time to go see Brady Beach. The general store has pretty much everything you want and they do accept debit

Overall, an awesome trip for a very fair price.

Super nice trip. Took the tour from port Alberni to Bamfield. Stunning nature from start to end. Also nice bistro on board.

Well worth the money, but this is a commercial boat so if you are not stable on your feet it may not be a good option. The stairs are narrow, but there are nice large decks with seating for viewing. It's great to see the coastline in its pristine condition with some remote communities hidden along the way. You won't always see wildlife but then you just might see whales. In Bamfield you have time for an ice cream and a walk around the blvd. Definately a day well spent relaxing!

Especially after a longer Broken Island kayak trip for a few days. Games and happy hour, piano, great shower, healthy meals and packed lunches at your request and guests with whom you can have an interesting conversation.
The wildlife and nature about is spectacular. Bears on an Island not far off, whales diving under our kayaks while we sang to them, many starfish and other tide line creatures, birds, The Lady Rose though boring to one or two, is an ecological paradise of sandy edges and Islands whispering to one another and wrapped in sunshine and rugged shores with wild flowers. Enjoy.

Incredible experience on the Lady Rose! A must when visiting the island. Lovely crew & captain that made the whole experience so much more pleasurable. We also caught sight of a few humpbacks!

Fantastic trip down a salt water inlet to a coastal village. We stopped and delivered goods and mail to communities on the way. We saw whales, eagles, seals, bears and other wildlife. The round trip takes 9 hours including a 90 minutes stop at the turnaround town Bamfield. Worth every penny. The food on board was simple but good and reasonable price.crew was fantastic.

Lovely experience. Went last week with my husband my experience was mesmerizing. So sad to hear that you guys are going I was recommending this to all my friends and then someone came back and told me the bad news. The food was excellent! The lady there served as she was serving and feeding her family. I didn't feel like a customer at all.

What a marvelous trip! The crew was exceptional. This is such an important lifeline to many communities. Truly an education!

Even though we had rain and clouds the different stopping at various coastal communities was extremely interesting. Ended up in Bamfield for major cargo unloading including essentials such as beer. Talented crewmembers.

This is a must do! What a great way to spend a day on the island. Great food, a few alcoholic beverages for those that do The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Walk the boardwalk in bamfield or walk out to the Brady's beach. Staff at the office and ship board staff are the best!

We went on the day trip out to Bamfield and it was a great experience. The M. V. Francis Barkley is a working ship so the day included stops at small villages where freight or other supplies were unloaded, this makes for an even better experience as we got to see places that a normal tour wouldn't necessarily stop at.
