Clean shelter lots of space for dogs to run in their kennels. They have rooms for cats to play in and a separate cat condo! Unfortunately, they have many cute cats and some lovely dogs and pups that need their forever home. And the workers and volunteers are doing their best. But they need the public's help in donations, money, etc ever little bit helps

Used to be a good society but i just called to ask about adopting a cat and the lady was completly rude about it. Like i couldnt possibly know better than her. I adopted my cat from here many years ago but now i will just be going to breeders i guess and i wont be donating anymore either. Unreal.

Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is an exceptional animal welfare organization. I recently donated a dog kennel to them, and my experience was outstanding. The staff at LAPS are incredibly kind and open people. They promptly answered my call and made the donation process a breeze. It's evident that they are dedicated to their mission of protecting and caring for animals. I'm grateful to have encountered such a wonderful organization, and I highly recommend LAPS to anyone looking to support and make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.

Went there twice yesterday in the hopes to adopt a furry friend
Wanted to see some of the cats and dogs before making a decision
The receptionist was not great and just kept pointing at things like oh cats are that way and dogs are that way and didn’t seem interested in welcoming us or explaining how things work despite us mentioning this would be our first time trying to adopt and our first pet in Canada
She kept telling us …

just felt she want welcoming and won’t be returning to this place
In contrast maple ridge was a much better experience they took us around and showed and explained a lot more
and would recommend that over this!
Tons of cats and dogs need rehoming and people are willing I just hope the laps people recognize they lost an opportunity

We go out of our way to stop here EVERY time we visit Aldergrove... We believe it is important to socialize the Kittens by visiting through the windows... And it helps us understand how quickly they get adopted!

Submitted application for a puppy adoption. The process is very unclear and there is no communication at all. The front desk also have limited replies they give and it’s frustrating. They leave you to keep guessing if you are approved or not.

I am amazed at all the hard work that goes on here.
. And in such a positive manner. Not only do they rescue cats/dogs but train the pets lovingly as well as teaching the new owners how to properly care for their new addition to the family. I have adopted my second Laps dog now. I have seen with my own eyes how they can lovingly change a dog who by no fault of his own had developed naughty behaviors into a dog fit for a Queen. Thank you for my adorable Admiral.

I called LAPS regarding a dog on their website, I knew the dog from dog sitting and wanted to make sure they had information. The staff I spoke to was rude, accusatory tone and judgemental. I was trying to share information. If I was an owner, calling to surrender my animal, I would have felt unsafe and judged. Please, staff be kind and don’t make assumptions. I was really disappointed.

The staff here are so kind and gentle with all the critters it’s amazing to see how hard they work to find these fur babies their forever homes

We adopted Harry on Mother’s Day 2022. The Langley Animal Protection staff was excellent. They had a phone interview with us and did a 45 minute counselling session with us when we adopted him. Harry came into the shelter a little larger than is healthy for a cat (rounding ~25+ pounds). He has now lost 8% of his weight (now 22lbs and slimming up…) in our home and is more active in our enclosed garden. Thank you LAPs for always trying to do your very best for the animals you serve.

I wasn't going to write a review but after this weekend I think I must. Last year I went to pick up my friends cat that was found by LAPS after she escaped, and the 2 women at the front desk were quite rude, cold and made me feel uncomfortable.like I had inconvenienced them by being there. I chalked it up to maybe a bad day.but then this past Sunday my husband and I witnessed a cat get hit by a car. We stayed with the poor thing until it passed (as there was no saving him/her), and then called LAPS to ask for help as we were riding our bikes at the time so we had no vehicle and we really didn't know what to do - we were both in shock as it was quite a traumatizing thing to witness. They basically told us we were out of luck as there were "no officers near our location" but didn't offer us any other solutions or guidance on what to do. We then found a vet in Aldergrove that was closing, but offered to stay open until we could get the cat to them - how very kind they were.

For LAPS being the main contact for Langley.they are surprisingly unhelpful. I'm not sure if its the company as a whole that is like this or just the ladies at the front/who mans the phones. Have had 2 bad experiences with them now. I don't think ill be returning/donating as there are so many amazing rescues in the lower mainland that have quite pleasant people working for them.
