This place is a shambles! You could be dying and they don't care! My wife has been here 7 hours and is still waiting to be seen. The staff are always on breaks.
10 September 2023 9:32
If you want to die, go wait at this hospital. My very sick 2 year old went here, waited for hours and hours and hours with a 41C fever. And was their least priority. After waiting for eternity, the doctor said give Tylenol. Dont bother coming here as what the doctors know are just Tylenol and advil. Doctor and nurses were very rude and assured us that we will be waiting for hours and they don't know if we were be seen at all.

Plus, 2 men who were bleeding so much were also waiting with us for hours.you are a priority if youre on your death bed. And when its too late, they will say it's a learning process. How is this right?
It's a broken system. Tax payers money not working hard foe the people.

Is this suppose to be a hospital?
They should shut it down.
You wait over 10 hrs + and still don’t see a doctor!
Another hospital that does not know how to triage patients properly!
If this hospital was based on attitude, Nurse’s would all be out of a job.
Change your attitudes!
If it wasn’t for the patients you’d be out of work!
Disgusting place!
Canada do something about the Healthcare System, it’s going down miserably!

The checkin process for emergency wasn’t too bad first thing in the morning, and I was content to wait with alarming stomach pain. The facilities were nice and clean. When I saw the dr, he did an ultrasound to show that there were no physiological anomalies in my abdomen where the pain was. I was thankful he had such quick access to the diagnostic tool. I asked what of the the pain. He didn’t address it and discharged me. I felt humiliated. To his credit, my own dr didn’t offer productive help when I got in to see her a month later. It was months of misery before I tried a FODMAPs diet with significant relief and was incredibly relieved that the issues weren’t imagined, as I was made to feel at the hospital. Looking back, something really feels off about the dismissive attitude.

All Hospital staff was fantastic, all the way from cleaning staff to Surgeon Dr Gentles was my surgeon covering for a different surrgeon who was away, and today Dr Gentles told me he is leaving to look at at a psiyion in Comox. Whoever gets this Surgeon will have a top notch surgeon, doctor and person. I brlieve he saved my life. They will be fortunate to have him. All Student Nurses and RN's have been great. Thank you for your devotion and diligegent work ethic You made me feel special, wanted and cared for as a patient in Langley Hospital
Many sincere thanks

The STAFF were incredible for the most part, and the ones that weren’t you could tell were just super burnt out and I don’t blame them. I had emergency gallbladder surgery and was so terrified but the surgeon was incredible and so were all the nurses etc. Every ER doctor I spoke to was super kind and took their time.

HOWEVER we need to fix our system! This is by no means a staff issue or hospital issue, it’s a government issue. I had to wait 15 hours in the ER to just be seen. It was so busy and so understaffed it was scary. I couldn’t eat or drink (in case I needed surgery) and had no relief from pain. Once I was seen I was sent home and told to wait for a call for an ultrasound cause they didn’t have the staff. I came back 5 hours later because I couldn’t take it anymore and was so dehydrated from not drinking for so long. I ended up waiting another 8 or so hours for an ultrasound and then another 24hrs until I got the surgery.

Many patients were there that didn’t need to be in ER taking up their precious time because they can’t find a family doctor. How is this okay? Our hospitals are being depleted by a system that makes no sense. As citizens we should be OUTRAGED that this isn’t more of a priority. We need more family doctors, we need to pay our doctors and nurses more and we need to offer private care! I would have gladly paid for an ultrasound if it meant not waiting 15hrs and letting someone else who needed it have my spot in ER be seen quicker.

I had a very comfortable experience at LMH. I had to schedule a c section for my pregnancy.

I’ll start this off by saying Dr. NG was absolutely wonderful!

It couldn’t have gone any better. The whole team was incredible. The nurses were incredible at Langley Memorial and a very memorable nurse for us was Mariah. She was so pleasant and caring.
I can’t recommend Dr. NG enough. He is such an incredible OB. Made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Amazing at communicating through out the surgery.

My daughter and I waited for 8 hours, when it was time to check, the doctor called my daughter last name wrong not.maybe he think me and my 10-year-old daughter don't know our first and last names! Until he called back I asked when it was my daughter's turn (I read her full name). He insisted that I was calling this name. Until he brought me and my daughter into the room, he stood at the door, Im try help my daughter were looking for a place for she sit. He checked with his eyes that it was just dry skin, just go home, wait a call from the special list. My 10-year-old daughter she had a lot of bleeding, waited for 5 hours but only heard these words and then let me go, I would rather not let my child come here. I will have my family doctor refer her to a special doctor.and the examination is less than 3 minutes.too poor quality. I very much appreciate the two people who helped from the ambulance to take me and my daughter to the hospital.but I will never go to this hospital again.
When my daughter and I walked out there was an elderly patient waiting for the examination, she was also surprised to say that that's all? Just got in and out!

Fraser health needs to give their head a shake! They keep putting money into renovations and upgrades to a hospital that have no doctors? What’s the point of wasting taxpayers money in a hospital that takes 10-12 hours to get past triage? People have time to slowly bleed to death in the waiting room before a doctor can see them!
I will never go back to that hospital for any reason in the future! It’s a complete waste of time money and resources!
Fraser health you need to rethink your business plan before wasting any more taxpayers money in a brand new hospital that can help no one!

I was stressed, frustrated and hopeless when I went to the hospital today. My family doctor was helpless when I was suffering of a severe infection for a year and it was getting worse and worse. Dr Fama heard me out and prescribed medication right away. He was very patient and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions and even gave me guidelines for after the treatment. My family doctor was going to refer me to a specialist for months from now and I really didn’t know how to deal with my illness this entire time. Thank you doctor Fama. You are the best!

I just wanted to give a great big thanks to Dr. Lord and the rest of the staff at Langley Memorial Hospital. I had pain in my stomach area and needed my appendix removed. Nurses and Doctors do not get the credit or respect they deserve. Thanks for everything.

My wife and I brought in our 8month old infant because she had a fever for 3days. They took her temp at the door of emerg. She was 38.7. Much too high for an infant. They made us wait hours before taking a look at her. Tell us to force fee pedialite into her for an hour and send us home. Skip forward two days and she has gotten worse. Day 5 of a fever now so of course we come back. They don’t check her in to emerg for 10 minutes. (Baby is burning up and crying in pain) they finally get us in and then we wait in the waiting room. I go to ask a “doctor” how long until my baby running a 5day fever gets looked at. And he says “I can’t help you” and “I don’t know how long, just wait” pathetic. No one cares, they look at through you, and talk at you, make you feel like you are a burden. The nurses and doctors spend more time chit chatting than helping people and doing their jobs.and if you speak up they threaten to remove you. These “medical professionals” don’t deserve to have their licences.

Many thanks to the staff and Dr's at the Langley ER. After ariving and the triage nurse realizing i was in bad shape she escorted me directly to a ER bed
Long and short of it i had top care for the following week. I know because of my condition i was fast tracked through but they need to prioritize when required. We all need to be patient and work with the system that is in place.top

Staff are great and super friendly but the place is massively understaffed. We were only a handful of people on the waiting room but they were being attended at about 1 person per hour. We ended up spending almost the whole night there. A shame that such a beautiful and well designed place cannot fulfill its potential due to being understaffed

There is not a single positive thing to say about how this place is managed or the nasty people who work here. I would drive 8 hours to reach a normal hospital. Third world contries have better hospitals.

Best hospital stay I've had. The doctors and nurses, both, made my incredibly uncomfortable stay the safest and best it could have been.

Worst hospital in the Lower Mainland, and been a frequent flyer to hospitals (birth illnesses and life injuries). Literally being DENIED required medication by doctors, when prescribed by surgeons that are detrimental to maintain life.

Better to go to, or transferred as soon a possible to Surrey.

The staff here are all wonderful. The nurses are exceptional.

My only complaint is the lack of parking for disabled people. Given it's a hospital, I would expect there to be ample spots. This is not the case and I'm often having to park in one of the tighter spots in the back lot and push my family member in their wheelchair to the building.
29 March 2023 5:25
Terrible experience. Prepare to be at the Emergency for more than 10 hours, as they have a severe problem with staffing. They had only 1 doctor to attend more than 50 to 60 people. Apart from that, the staff is very rude at dealing with people. If you have the chance avoid this hospital.

The maternity unit here was amazing. It’s so spacious and welcoming and the nurses are all so amazing. I was in and out of the hospital a lot during my pregnancy and they took such good care of me. I never had to wait, they always rushed me right in and kept me very informed. Both the nurses and the doctors were great. I had to get transfered to surrey memorial at one point and the care difference was drastic. I was not kept informed, I never saw a doctor, and the nurses didn’t seem to know what was going on and were very disorganized. It made me appreciate langley even more! Thank you for taking such good care of me and my baby girl!

My almost 82 year old diabetic dad was here for more than 9 hours waiting in the ER no food or water. The IV machines were not working, went through 3. I realize they are extremely busy and short staffed but he's almost 82, diabetic and was offered nothing in 9 hours. Come on people, ridiculous.
