L'aromas Coffee Terra Nova

Really great stuff I always come here after my morning run and I also come here to study and get some nice pastries. I really hope this places gets more recognition. And the baristas are great help

Why is there only one staff member scheduled for the busy morning shift? Could it be due to difficulty in hiring additional staff? This area is near a school and numerous businesses, so parents and morning workers frequent the coffee shop. It's unfortunate for the lone staff member who has to handle the rush during that busy period.

I appreciate the staff member who was working alone in the early morning. The staff consistently apologized to the customers and did the best to serve everyone as quickly as possible. The owner should seriously reconsider the shift scheduling.

Gave me a disposable cup even though I said it was for dining in. I see plenty of mugs on the espresso machine so they must just not want to wash dishes.

I am so glad a business like l'aromas took over this location. We greatly missed having a neighborhood coffee house and I have to say l'aromas is more of a second home. It has a cozy environment, pleasant service and unpretentious. I am not a coffee aficionado but I do enjoy a decent cup of coffee and theirs is much better than the coffee chains. But what I really like are the baked goods. It is almost impossible to find places these days with home-baked goods. Their date square is the best I've had (even beats my own) but their other items such as scones, cinnamon buns and cookies are delicious. I highly recommend giving l'aromas a try if you haven't yet.

You never know what someone's going through - so always be kind

A beautiful example was shown to me on the weekend.

Those close to me know that I've been dealing with a lot of health issues. Over the weekend, I was barely able to get out of bed and get my kids to where they needed to be, but I did it.

After doing the final drop-off, I did a sigh of relief and proceeded to drive across Richmond to my favorite local coffee shop. I had only a few minutes to spare before having to head back to watch my son's basketball tournament.

I get to Terra Nova, pulled out my wallet and noticed my debit card wasn't there. So I quickly upload my other card to Google Pay. Crisis averted.

I go into the shop and order a coffee and a muffin. I tap my card. It doesn't work. I try it again. Same thing. I am super embarrassed at this point because know I have money on the card and my coffee has already been made.

I'm starting to get super anxious as clients start to line up behind me.

I stepped asside and asked the barista to cancel my order until I can figure out my card and she told me not to worry about it, that it was on the house.

Shocked from her kindness, I thanked her, took my coffee and muffin, and went back to the car.

I totally had a quick little cry, wiped my tears, smiled, and drove back to the basketball tournament.

That seemingly small gesture made a world of a difference to my day.
