Amazing technology, a relatively fast and essentially pain free process and even with amblyopia and astigmatism they were able to achieve 20/20 vision! Life changing procedure, one of the best decisions I have ever made, no regrets whatsoever!

"Don't blink, don't squeeze, don't move". Great advice when there's a laser slicing your cornea! Dr. Gan and the whole team handled my surgery with calm, confident efficiency (almost as if they do this all the time). Putting one's eyes in anyone's hands is daunting, but Lasik MD did a great job taking care of mine.

Overall a great experience. Everyone at LasikMD is super friendly and competent. The procedure itself was bearable and fast, without any pain. Maybe more transparency on why there is such a large price difference between the Standard and the Custom procedure would be appropriate. I never fully understood if I truly needed the Custom procedure or if the Standard procedure would've had the same results. (pretend you're explaining this to a 5 year old or a senior). But would definitely highly recommend.

As someone who had a prescription of -9.5 and -10.0 getting lasik has been absolutely life changing.
Before booking an appointment for a consultation I asked a few friends and family that I knew had gotten lasik but I also went into reviews. The good reviews outweighed any negative ones and while the negative reviews may have been in the back of my mind I still went through with the consultation to form an opinion of my own. I never once felt like they were pushing me to get lasik and while you do meet with someone to go over cost and financing I appreciated that aspect so you know 100% when you're getting into should you choose to move forward with the procedure.
I had read up on my specific surgeon and again all the good reviews outweighed the negative. I had read from a negative experience that Dr. Gan didn't have any bedside manner and made someone feel like they didn't matter because he 'didnt answer all the questions". To that I will say from my experience you literally meet with more than 8 people not including Surgical staff that can answer every single question you have prior to even meeting with the surgeon. At the consultation before booking the procedure you meet with 4 different people each one of them there to answer questions after doing their tests and specified roles. On the day of surgery you meet with 4 people again to confirm all tests are accurate before bringing you into surgery.
The support staff was amazing! Upon entering you are greeted with smiling friendly faces of Bonnie, Leslie or Chantale. They explain the next few steps, who you will meet with and again, are there to answer any questions. Every staff member along the way was informative, helpful and really put you at ease!
Now, for Dr. Gan. Amazing! My personal experience was that I didn't have any questions for him as the rest of the staff answered anything I wondered about whether through their VERY thorough booklet or from directly answering me! Dr. Gan was professional, quick, calming and damn good at his skill. He had clear and concise instructions during the process while also letting me know each step along the way like what I might feel or what other have felt so I felt more than prepared and cared for in the 5 minutes it took (yes! It's that's quick!).
Note that it's YOUR responsibility to decide whether this is for you even with all the possible side effects. Lasik MD gives you more than enough information and more than enough opportunities to address any of your concerns that if you decide to get it done and dislike that your eyes are dry or any other side effect you may experience, you had all the information prior to even booking the procedure. For me, this has been absolutely life changing. I was almost legally blind with terrible astigmatism and now i wake up with clear vision! The team at Lasik MD took care of me and i cant suggest them enough. Thank you so much!

I went in after 34 years of needing glasses. The atmosphere was calm and inviting.
The staff were great! Helpful, friendly and accommodating.

I have pretty high anxiety and was really worried about side effects.
When I went in to see the doctor I was given (something) closer to surgery to help decrease my anxiety, which was awesome.

The procedure itself was a little uncomfortable when they used the round piece of equipment to keep my eye open, but not painful.
I didn't feel anything from the incision or laser at all.

That first night I only had to use the numbing drops once. I woke up this morning (day after) feeling slightly dry, but nothing close to what I expected. My vision sharper than ever.

I went in for my post op checkup and found I now have better than 20/20 vision.

I cannot recommend this enough. Seriously. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I know everybody's experience is different, but my personal opinion is that this is highly highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful service. From the first consultation to the surgery- all the way through to the post operative check up! I am amazed at my vision from -8.75! Absolutely incredible!

I’ve waited a number of months to leave my review. I had lasik in April 2022. There is an excitement after the first days of this surgery when you open your eyes and see without glasses/contacts for the first time. I am corrected to 20/20.

Since I have had this surgery, I have been struggling with dry eyes, I know it sounds minor, but I would gladly take back my glasses/contacts. It’s sort of like the feeling when you accidentally fall asleep in your contacts, or you’ve been wearing them too long, that’s what it is like all the time for me since Lasik.

I spend $15-20/week on eye drops, I use a viscous/thick/goopey drop in both eyes before bed and eye drops about 5x throughout the day. I can no longer wear eye make up the way I used to.

I haven’t heard much hope that this condition will correct itself and so this is my new normal. I’m sure I’m the minority, but something to consider when deciding if this surgery is for you or not.

No knock to any of the staff, they have all been great start to finish.

Just wanted to say that Karine the receptionist at Victoria lasik md is great! I had a pre op before and was deemed a non candidate at another clinic. Karine cared enough to check in with Dr. Purba and have her look at my scans to see if there really was nothing that can be done. Even though I can’t have surgery, I’m grateful she asked Dr. Purba to look at my pre op scans. I highly recommend going there because they truly care and will not give you false information.

Overall a quick experience. Thorough eye exams, which takes a few hours, into the actual surgery which took about five minutes! A life changing experience. I was very nervous but the staff are so reassuring and bubbly. Especially the one kind lady who brings you into the surgical prep area. So far I am very happy with the experience. I found the whole procedure to be very accommodating. Quick replies and lots of reinforcement of information (which is great when you're stressed and prone to forgetting). The company works like a well-oiled machine, everything systematic and smooth. I am 4 days post-op and things are looking good (pun intended) so far.

Procedure was amazing obviously, and every step of the way staff was calm kind and reassuring. Felt I was in very good hands. Would have loved some more prep way beforehand (my consult and my procedure were very far apart so there's probably stuff I forgot) but regardless recovery was quick and easy and it is beyond words to describe how amazing it is to see!

Feeling truly lucky to be an employee and being able to share my own experience with people?

I thought the experience was actually much less dramatic then anticipated. Tested better then 20/20 only 12 hours after surgery. Experience minor halos around LED type lights but I expect this is temporary as they have drastically reduced in size after only 12 hours. Personally had no pain and my eyes were only somewhat uncomfortable the first night.

After 18 months my vision has somewhat deteriorated and I now test at 20/32 so not bad but also not perfect. I had 20/80 before surgery and remain happy providing my vision doesn't drop below 20/40. Fortunately I did opt for the lifelong policy so they will repeat the surgery at no cost if this is the case. May be worth considering

I am unfortunately not a candidate for Lasik surgery as I found out during my free consultation. However as a new team member at the Victoria clinic, it was a really great experience for me to learn more about the process anyway. It has also given me the confidence to recommend this to a few family members and friends. I had my consultation in my first week of work, and I was very impressed with the covid protocols being practiced from reception to seeing one of the eye care professionals. All of the staff were great with answering questions and were so friendly and informative. Seeing many patients come through with a life changing experience has been very rewarding for me too.

I am less than 24 hours out of surgery and I can't stop saying "wow". After 25+ years of relying on glasses and contact lenses this newfound freedom is truly amazing.

I was in a great deal of discomfort the first couple of hours and was questioning my decision to get the surgery, but by that evening things were feeling better. I did the virtual pre-OP appointment and then went in for my actual examination/surgery day. You're told that it'll be a few hours, but it doesn't feel nearly that long. I found the website very frustrating when trying to schedule an initial consultation. The website also gives you the option for an in person or telephone consult, so I opted for the in person. I was contact before my apt saying all apts were being held virtually, which makes sense given the current global situation, however I was confused why this would have been an option for booking initially.

The connection was poor during my consult and was switched from a video call to a telephone call. I was then informed I would need an in person consultation, which was slightly frustrating as this is what I had initially scheduled. Nonetheless, I booked for after the holidays.

The initial consultation was easy and stress free. I was able to schedule my surgery day at the end of the apt. I booked with Dr. King as I was recommended from a friend who had seen him in Edmonton. I was nervous, but the reassurances from people I knew that have gone through the procedure were helpful.

Two weeks before my surgery I was called and informed that Dr. King had cancelled all of his March dates. I was offered surgery with him the following week, but unfortunately given my work schedule and already reorganizing things I wasn’t able to make that happen. I opted to see Dr. Gan the day after my initial surgery was booked.

The day of surgery was a lot of waiting. They tell you to expect to be there for 4-5 hours. I was in the clinic for close to 4 hours, having only spent about an hour between pre op eye tests, paperwork, and the actual surgery. It truly is a pain free procedure, albeit uncomfortable.

Dr. Gan was fantastic and I would recommend him for anyone looking in the Victoria area. I was quite nervous and he did a great job at reassuring me and was very patient throughout the procedure. I didn’t feel rushed or dismissed, and overall things went very well.

The follow up apt was a breeze, very quick and hassle free.

I’m almost two weeks from surgery now and although still having some vision fluctuations, mostly at night (which is expected) things are getting better each day and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

I highly recommend this office. All the staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable and eager to make everyone at ease and comfortable despite all the extra covid protection (which is great btw). I wasn't nervous until I came into the OR but the nurse was so kind and reassuring, the procedure went very well and I am happy to say I now have 20/20 vision! Yay! I also donated my 2 pairs of glasses as I left to go home, hoping they will help someone in need. The first 6 hours after surgery I thought I had made a mistake (I have quite sensitive eyes) but as I woke the next day the initial pain had settled (thank goodness!) and I AM SO HAPPY I DID THIS FOR MYSELF! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The people that work here were great to deal with. Both my conciliation and the day of surgery was a very positive experience. The conciliation was about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Where they tested my eyes and then gave me some options to think about. Making the appointment was easy and the date was only a few weeks out. At home they called me and told me what I should do to prepare for my surgery. I needed reading glasses (2.25). I was only going to get my weak eye done (left) my right eye was a strong eye for distance. I did what they said. The day of the surgery they tested my eyes again I had a conciliation again to making sure I did what I was told and made sure I understood what was going to happen and made sure I was comfortable about it. They never once tried to push me into an more expensive way. The surgery was fast and painless. The drops after the surgery was more painful for the next few days. I can read my phone and newspaper without glasses now. It might not be for everyone but it is worth the visit to see.

I received LASIK eye surgery 1 year ago by Dr. King at this location. It has been something I have wanted to do for many many years, but was always so nervous. I had booked a free consultation and was amazed at the smooth, professional service at the clinic. I booked my appointment right away and everything was laid out clearly for me. The day of surgery came and Dr.king made me feel comfortable right away and answered any questions I had. The procedure was extremely quick. I was in a lot of pain immediately after, but they got me eye drops right away. I did have severely blood shot eyes from the suction and found the days after very uncomfortable, but the clinic sends you home with clear instructions and drops. However I could see clearly the next day! I am a year post- op and can honestly say “I wish I had done it sooner! ” I am very active and love swimming and to not have to wear contacts or glasses is LIFE CHANGING!

Always wanted to do this and here I am with 20/20 vision at 2020. The surgery took about 15 minutes and was even better that what I expected.  Everyone at Victoria LASIK MD are very knowledgeable and very supportive and they took great care of me. LASIK MD did an absolutely incredible job! The staff are lovely, and my surgeon, Dr. Gan, was perfectly proficient!

I never dreamed that my eyesight could be this great! The best thing I could compare it to would be screen resolution: my eyesight went from less than 480p without corrective lenses, to an older LCD 1080p with contacts, to 4K OLED with LASIK! It’s amazing! I couldn’t be happier with the results or the experience!

I had all-laser custom LASIK done by Dr. Kenman Gan on February 15. I was about -3 on both eyes with astigmatism, larger pupils, and the total cost came to $4280 with a lifetime plan. I was cared for all throughout, before and after. They are very professional, thorough, efficient, and reassure you from any concerns and questions. You’d be in safe hands here for sure.

I took a lot of time to consider going forward with Lasik. But the team there is thoughtful and went along at my pace. They answered my questions thoroughly. The day of the procedure was as calm as they could make it. They again showed careless and professionalism.

It's just been 6 days since having PRK urgery and so far couldn't be happier. Everyone at Lasik MD has been fantastic, took great care of me, answered my questions and helped me to make the decision to proceed, but were never pushy, and even on the day of surgery were clear that I could cancel if i wasn't 100% sure. Post op care was great. I didn't have a ride home after surgery so they arranged someone for me. She took me to the pharmacy and then made sure i made it into my apartment safely. Dr. King was the surgeon and he and his team were so comforting, upbeat and friendly, before and after the proceedure when i was too scared to open my eyes right away. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking into any kind of vision correction surgery.

I thought the experience was actually much less dramatic then anticipated. Tested better then 20/20 only 12 hours after surgery. Experience minor halos around LED type lights but I expect this is temporary as they have drastically reduced in size after only 12 hours. Personally had no pain and my eyes were only somewhat uncomfortable the first night.
