Lazy Acres Farm and Suites

This is a total gem. We loved everything about it! The owners are so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The property is stunning… and the sauna is divine… simply wow. Highly recommended.

What an amazing place! We absolutely loved it! Matt and his family are amazing hosts, and the surroundings are out of this world! The suites were beautiful, the secluded river beach with bald eagles flying overhead is stunning and the authentic sauna is magical! You can also purchase their lovely farm products: eggs, vegetables and more. A definite highlight of our trip! Thank you for everything!

We stayed one night on a longer Vancouver Island trip and the Lazy Bear Suite was the perfect cozy accommodation between camping adventures. We loved the big comfy bed (with its gorgeous headboard) and having a BBQ to grill up a great dinner. The sauna was such a neat feature, especially on a cool and rainy June evening. Kat and Mat were excellent hosts, and the dogs, cat and chickens were delightful too.

Beautiful accomadation with tasteful modern touches. Cedar Sauna was amazing in the spring rain! Very thoughtfully curated, cant wait to come back.

Summed up in two words: Breathtaking and magical!
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt at home. Both comfort and a relaxing vibe were part of the package! The room had mountain views, an outdoor fireplace with bbq, all the amenities one could ask for. The hosts were impressively knowledgeable of their land, an old ’60-’70s school transformed into a beautiful community space. Mat & Kat showed us around the riverside beaches and the trails on their land. The chickens provided fresh eggs and we could see their massive garden when walking towards their wood-fire Swedish-style sauna. Throughout day and night, the sounds of nature were very soothing to the soul. If you are planning to come to this side of the island, you can not miss this place!

We so enjoyed our stay at Lazy Acre Farm and Suites. The hosts were so warm, inviting and lovely. The property was breathtaking - between the magical forest, the pristine river, the delicious smelling cedar sauna, the chickens, the magnificent stars, the cozy, good vibing rooms, the cute cats.it was all just perfect and we are already planning our summer time trip! We had our 10 month old with us and he also enjoyed the lovely stay.

Present du 24 juin au 1 juillet 2021. Tout était super; proprios, emplacement, propreté. Lit confortable+. Superbe grande forêt et rivière d'eau limpide. Vu sur les montagnes magnifique. Tranquillité et paix assurées. Pour amant de la nature. Site exceptionnel pour organiser des gros party style mariage. Bien hâte d'y retourner.

I spent 4 days at the farm a couple of weeks ago.   Our hosts Matty and Kacka we absolutely wonderful. Super friendly and available for all of our needs. The suites are freshly renovated, clean and comfortable. Absolutely quite and peaceful at the farm. Theres anything from exploring the property to lawn games, fishing on the km+ River front or my personal favourite just being lazy and chilling.    Thanks guys.

Wow! Unbelievable place. Well worth the drive.

Peace and quiet. Gorgeous views. Private hiking trails. Outdoor sauna. Star gazing.

Chickens roaming the property & family of elks living nearby.

The rooms are beautifully done with exposed wood beams, sky lights, comfortable beds.

Private beaches along the Salmon river. Keep your eyes peeled for jumping trout and crayfish.

Bring fishing rods to catch your dinner. Each room comes with it’s own BBQ and outdoor lounge area.

Note there is only 1 restaurant nearby that closes at 7. Campbell River is 40 mins away with some good food options, but recommend you come prepared with food to cook.

15 mins from Sayward/Kelsey Bay. Logging town on the Johnstone Strait. Definitely worth a quick trip for the views + fishing.

Bathroom amenities are limited (no shampoo / body wash), as are basic cooking ingredients (no oil, salt, pepper, sugar). With that said, we didn’t bother to ask the owners for anything, so they could very well have these items upon request.

A perfect getaway to unplug & refresh. We will be returning again on our next trip to the island.

Matt and Katerina are fantastic hosts. The property is beautiful, the units are super comfortable and well appointed. Sayward is a peaceful gem that I look forward to returning to. Further, Lazy Acres was a great experience and I will certainly book again!

What an amazing place to come and stay. The grounds are beautiful. Chickens laying fresh eggs, rivers, forest and surrounded by nature and wildlife. We saw a family of Elk and the owners make you feel like a second home. The outdoor sauna is awesome too. If your in the area a stay here is a must!

It’s the perfect place, lovely attentive hosts, and it felt like a spa retreat. This was helped by the lovely sauna in the grounds. Swimming off one of the private river beaches was also a highlight. Surrounded by green and nature, just what we needed! We will be staying again in the future!

We just experienced the new Lazy Acres Farm and Suites! A stunning 65 acre property on Salmon River, near Sayward, British Columbia!

We had such a great time in pure wilderness! The property was like staying in a private provincial park, several trails have been built leading to 3 secluded sandy beaches on the river. A perfect playground for fly fishing, kayaking or paddleboarding! Pass by ancient cedars along the way & watch out for Roosevelt Elk! Our girls loved the farm life, feeding the chickens & collecting eggs every day, plus the friendly dogs!

I went for an incredible paddleboard adventure down the Salmon River to Sayward Estuary which lead out to the ocean & saw Elk along the way!

We stayed in the newly renovated 1 bedroom suite, it's modern farmhouse chic, perfect for our family of 4 with our 2 young kids. The suite has beautiful views and is well appointed. We loved the kitchenette & access to a BBQ for our meals.

Such an amazing weekend! We will definitely be back & cannot wait to try the cedar sauna & hot tub next time!

I stayed two nights in their brand new trailer, which was spotlessly clean and modern. Each morning I woke to a forest view with only sounds of nature to greet me. The spacious 60 acres left me to do as much or as little as I wanted. I saw elk, grouse, deer and their two friendly cuddly farm dogs whenever I looked around. There are hundreds of feet of untouched sandy private riverfront to go for a swim or throw a line in to get after world class steelhead. Mathieu and Kacka and their adorable well behaved daughter have decades of background in high end customer service, and tended to my every need quickly and with a smile. When I stepped on the property I instantly caught a deep breath and felt immediately relaxed. I will be back for sure with an eye to a family reunion or wedding, as the grounds are perfect for it

An amazing location with forest, river, meadow all on the same serene property. Beautiful units, finished with lovely furnishings. Everything you need for a relaxing weekend. Matt and Katerina and their family, including chickens, kittens, dogs and elk, are wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back!

Matt and Kasca are organised and friendly hosts, combined they have created a space of relaxation and wonder. There space offers people a place to reconnect with themselves and to nature. There wellness platform offers a place to detoxify, cleanse, and stretch. There space is on sacred indigenous land and offers up a powerful experience. There home located just under Mount Hkusam (22 km trail circuit) offers bright majestic star gazing beside the fire. Come wonder, play, and connect on lazy acres.

Lazy Acres is run by an awesome young family with their two friendly dogs and 13 chickens. The farm is located a short distance off the main highway and is paradise once you arrive. Gorgeous views of Mount Hkusam. Hikes to White River and two easily accessible private beaches on the property. Make sure to bring your fishing rod if you love fishing. Fresh eggs every day from the 13 chickens. The newly renovated suites are very west coast with gorgeous wood features. Plenty of room to roam around and play various outside games (ladder ball, frisbee, bocce ball). We were lucky enough to see eight Roosevelt Elk near by. Definitely recommend this experience, if you are looking for a unique Island get away.

My family and I just spent the weekend at Lazy Acres Farm and Suites. If you are looking for peace, nature and serenity, this is the vacation property for you. The massive property has 3 sandy beaches, beautiful river, veggie garden, chickens, 2 dogs and 2 new kitty's.

Lazy Acres is run by a sweet young family Matt, Kat and Nati are you hosts, who make you feel welcome to there own paradise!

We stayed in the Elk Suite and it has been fully renovated, with live edge custom beds and head board of old growth Vancouver Island Timber. The modern and fresh design makes you feel comfy and at home. I would highly recommend you disconnect from the world and connecting with nature here! The property would be an excellent wedding venue.
