Lemonade Gluten Free Bakery

What’s wrong with the staff here? It was a short queue just before the opening, so we waited outside for a couple of minutes. By 10 am, they unlocked the door but didn’t open it for the first customer in line. The lady got in; as I watched, two morose staff served without smiling or even eye contact. I was the third customer, and the attitude didn’t change at all. In our neighbourhood, we all deserve a decent service while supporting local businesses. I will not comment on the products; this is all about the customer experience, which botched the full appetite.

Ordered the peanut butter chocolate cake a day ahead and staff was very accommodating. Picked up a couple of croissants (very heavy and dense, but I will definitely purchase again to see if they’re normally like that, -could just be the way gluten free croissants turn out it was my first time trying one), and a sesame bagel. The bagel was perfect, Montreal style and the perfect amount of chew. The cake was amazing! You would never know it was gluten and dairy free. Will be our go to bakery from now on! Thanks for making amazing food for those of us who can’t have gluten ️

Wonderful baking for my daughter's birthday! She was so excited. Thank you for making such delicious gluten-free treats. We will definitely be making the trip in again from here in Port Kells.

This was my absolute favorite gf bakery in Vancouver, and maybe anywhere! Made my entire trip worthwhile.

The staff was really friendly and the baked goods were stellar!

The desserts are decent, but the customer service is horrible. The staff at the counter just stand there staring at you (no greeting, incredibly short). Not sure if their employees are under large amounts of pressure, but the customer service alone is enough reason for us to not come back. This place could do really well with the right staff.

Love this bakery. Was able to pick up a delicious, gorgeous last minute cake, what a luxury! Huge variety, impressive quality.

Cream puffs! Proper cream puffs, and baguettes, and my little canadienne belly is so happy.

Just ordered for the first time from this bakery. Lots of dairy free options as well which was awesome! Campfire cake was excellent for my daughter’s birthday. Price comparable to price of cake for last years birthday from another bakery. Really great looking gingerbread house.

I live very close to that place and sometimes they have line ups… so I decided to go in.and I bought this sourdough bread… since it’s gluten free I didn’t have high expectations because I tried so many gluten free bread… but the sourdough bread tasted like real sourdough bread so soft on the inside and crunchy…. I ate half the loaf immediately…Very impressed also tried a lemon square bakery was also very delicious and will now buy all my bread there.

I’ve been coming here for years and always get their croissants. They’re amazing. They’re life changing. They’re everything you need them to be.
We decided this trip, that we wanted to get some other treats to taste, as well. I’m obsessed with everything lemon, so we got a bunch of lemon stuff and a passion fruit tart.
The lemon loaf has almost no lemon flavor. It tasted like a nice pound cake. The lemon curd cake cup tastes straight up nasty. The lemon curd tastes like it was from a tin can. The lemon cheesecake was better, but was super grainy and the crust was sopping wet. The lemon meringue pie was disgusting because of the tinny lemon curd and the soft crust.
I was literally heartbroken because so much of what we got was not good.
The passion fruit tart was the lifesaver. That thing was so damn good. It was creamy and flavorful and had the perfect amount of tartness to it. 10/10 recommend it.
I’ll still come to this bakery because I’ve never found anywhere else that has gluten-free croissants like this. However, I’ll be sticking to the croissants and passion fruit tart from now on!

Wow, this is an amazing bakery! Far and away the best GF bakery I've been to. Only wish they would ship to Kelowna, or open a location closer!

Ordered an absolutely divine vegan chocolate mousse cake from here and everyone raved about it. It was an extra wedding cake for those with dietary requirements, but it was about 87 times more tasty than the actual wedding cake! All went smoothly with the order and pickup. Amazing!

I’m never disappointed with the quality or choices of baked goods this place has! I also love that everything is gluten free and a lot of stuff is also dairy free!

Another one of my fav gluten free places to go! I really like their cinnamon danish - it has got the right amount of pastry texture and sweetness. I also tried their lemonade drink but it was way too sour for me. I was excited to try their cream puffs and though it was good, I was hoping for something a bit more light and fluffy. I definitely want to go back and try their lemon cake:)

Wonderful bakery with the exceptional customer service and friendly staff. It was my first time visiting the store and they were very helpful. This will be my go to place from now on for all my bakery needs since my son and wife have a gluten and dairy allergy. What a lifesaver!

We are a celiac family and Lemonade Bakery is our first stop when we’re in Vancouver. Everything they make is fantastic — sourdough, cookies, fruit cake at Christmas. Highly recommend for anyone with a gluten allergy or preference.

Super tasty bakery. I do not have any dietary restrictions and was blown away that their products are GF and stand up to baked goods with gluten. The staff have always gone above and beyond our expectations and we have created many memories over their cakes.

In a world that is short staffed in service during the pandemic, the ones who do show up are important. Never mind the negative reviews of people who have an issue with a singular employee and not the actual baked goods which are exceptional.

Negative reviews hurt small local businesses and the ones I’ve read do not warrant the 1 star. This bakery does deserve your business and people who only log on to leave negative reviews for businesses should not be trusted.

Considering the limited amount of options for gluten free, I was super happy to find this amazing bakery! Although their bread doesn't look as good as wheat bread, their desserts looked incredible. I had the mango mousse (egg free & dairy free). It was a bit too sweet for my liking but the mango flavour was spot on. Bread wise I bought the homestyle loaf. Would have preferred if it was a bit saltier but texture wise wasn't too bad. I wish their prices were a bit more affortable (the breads are each $8.25) as general gluten free items always seem more expensive. Which I know a lot goes into gluten free baking however for those of us that have health issues it shouldn't cost more this much more than wheat products.

Some of the items sound good but staff quality is more important - its usually the first point of contact with a business when placing an order. Tracy was unable to comprehend my simple words when inquiring about a possible order for the next day - and she got her own self all upset over nothing at all, then said she'd put me on hold and hung up on me instead. I need someone intelligent to deal with when doing business, and regret not closing the call as soon as I realized her comprehension skill was low.

It's unfortunate that business owners in this city don't seem to be concerned with keeping tabs on their staff, don't seem to make sure they are fully trained
in excellent customer service attitude and behavior, and don't seem to find ways to insure their expectations are carried out.

All it takes is just one employee like that one to lose business. You have lost ours.

I live in Ontario, and wanted to send a cheesecake to my sister, who has celiac disease. Tracy at Lemonade was a pleasure to interact with, and made sure everything went smoothly, including the courier service for delivery. My sister loved the cheesecake so much she didn't manage to get a picture of it before she cut into it. Thank you SO much, Lemonade!

This business takes COVID-19 seriously and are still mandating masks or bringing items out to customers if they can't come into the store. We will continue to shop here as we believe this is a sign you take other health measures seriously too.

Small, speciality gluten-free bakery but the best in Vancouver!

Excellent treats and savoury items! I drive from the suburbs on my birthday every year specifically for these treats, and pop in every time I am around.

Once got a warm cheese bun on a early Saturday morning, thought warm bread was a thing of the past for this celiac girl - so delicious!

Even before cutting gluten from my diet I enjoyed this place…now I love it even more. LOTS of great options to indulge in without feeling (too) guilty.

Great customer service and delicious baked goods. Ordered the lemon coconut cake for my Mom's birthday and she loved it. Perfect amount of sweetness, light, refreshing and moist. Will order again.

Their bread, cakes, pastries. I love them all! I go to this place at least once a week. If I live close here I would go everyday!

The idea of gluten free is great. But personally I ordered a few items - such as the lemonade mouse, the top was NOT very sweet which was nice, but the bottom of the cup was overly sweet. Also for the mango passionfruit tart with whipping on the top - the whipping was very sweet but the tart filling was super sour! I can't even finish eating it now.

But you may not have this problem if you each the whole piece in one bite, the top and bottom together in one bite, but this doesn't work for me as I disassemble food.

I'm sure they have great quality, but perhaps can work a more even taste throughout each piece. Most people probably who has a gluten free diet with lack of choices would love this place compared to no other choice for desserts. I'm not gluten free but liked the idea and saw good reviews and gave this place a try, but in comparison to other non gluten free places, such as Beta 5, Thomas Haas, Ganache, and other more prestige dessert NON GLUTEN FREE places, the tastes of desserts aren't for me. I don't think I will be back. But overall, perhaps one of the best choices if you are into gluten free as they use good quality ingredients, just the taste is not for me.

The COVID protocols were in place, the service was fine, parking I was able to find parking on the street, they take credit cards, no cash.

The best gluten free bread in the world! The sourdough bread is better than most glutinous varieties. The Challah bread is light and delicious. It's hard being gluten free but this bread makes it so much easier and gives me some joy in a wheatless world.

Amazing place. All gluten free baked goods. The baguette was incredible! Almost like the real thing. So good, when I got home most of it was gone. Their pastries are outstanding. Must come here if you have celiac or intolerant, it is a little piece of heaven for us.

I love Lemonade! The hard working team in this gluten free bakery creates delightful pastries, loaves and pies. My favs include the lemon loaf, chocolate croissant, galettes, pumpkin pie and the Friday challah! I love knowing I can have a gorgeous gluten free cake for birthdays and special occasions. They’ve set up really functional COVID-19 practices so that it’s a safe place to shop. The lineup outside is worth the wait!

They have lots of flavour profiles I like such as sweet and salty (salted caramel chocolate) and tart like the chocolate passionfruit, lemon meringue and lemon bar. Service is always very friendly and enthusiastic even though I have questions due to tons of additional allergies beyond gluten. I always end up buying more than I planned because they are so fun.

I really like this place! There's lots of different gluten free dessert options and several different types of baked goods and breads as well. I find myself frequently back here to buy all their delicious snacks and treats!

This is the go-to place for gluten free baking in Vancouver. All the products are amazing and truly taste just as good (or better) than what you’d get from a “normal” bakery.
Highly recommend!

Literally none of the workers were wearing masks when I went.

Edit: I have absolutely no reason to lie. I went to this bakery because my sister is gluten free and I wanted to pick up a treat for her on the way home from work. But when I got there and saw none of the workers wearing masks, it made me really uncomfortable and I chose not to purchase anything. I wrote this review to warn other people who may be immuno-compromised.

Instead of asking what day/time I went and to look into this matter further, the owner replies and insinuates that I am making a false statement?

is this really the quality of service you are providing?

Oh my god this place is amazing! It was so nice to have sour dough bread again that tasted just like regular bread will continue to come back! The pie dough was also great! I just wish there was a location in metro vancouver area.

What a great experience, on our second visit. My wife is having new floor issues, so we are learning. Learning that Lemonade's work is fantastic.

Such high ratings, but not in my experience! Purchased a croissant from a half zombie attendant for $4.00. It’s one of the worst croissants I’ve had ever! It’s tiny, over baked on the outside, and raw in the inside. There are better places to go to, I just thought I’d give them a try. Sadly disappointed.

First time at this bakery and while we're in Coquitlam, I'll be back. It was a Sunday and was wanting to order a cake for Monday birthday only to realize most bakeries are closed. Phone Lemonade and they set aside their last Tiramisu cake which saved me from a big problem. Three were gluten free and others no. The gluten free eaters couldn't believe how tasty it was compared to what they were used to. Got some bread too and it's great also. Service and staff friendly and I'll be back!

I love having a bakery that I can go to and not have to worry about what I am eating. Everything in this bakery is ao delicious! Cannot recommend them enough.

My dad is celiac and I always bring him goodies from here when I’m going to visit! I even had a GF sweets tray for a Christmas dinner, and no one knew the difference! Their fresh breads are much better than most GF breads I’ve tried, and my dad absolutely LOVED the quinoa baguette!:)

Purchased a Yule log which looks delicious and happy with however the service to pick it up was soooooo slow. Wait soooooo long in the bakery to get served. Needed more staff or faster service. Just being busy time of year time is precious and not enough of it.

Good cookies but brutal staff! The taller brunette that works cash need to rethink her career choice. She is so brutal and the owner should really chat to bring her inline. She is always rude and her customer service would be perfect for Amazon's new warehouse.

They make a lot of tasty and beautiful baked goods, but you have best get there early around the holidays. I stopped in at 9am (opening time) on Christmas Eve and the line was already 20 people deep.

I'm not gluten free so this is not accurate. Generally the desserts are a little too sweet and the danish kind of hard to chew. But it is gluten free so it's understandable with the chewiness. But my girlfriend who is gluten free appreciate that they have croissants which a lot of other gluten free bakery doesn't have hence 4 stars for effort.
