Licence To Drive LTD

Couple tries but then a great lesson with Todd, great instructor, finally got it done. Thanks, would recommend having lessons with them.

I have stumbled upon Licence to Drive when preparing for my Class 4 driving test, so I can start driving for Uber.

With over 16 years behind the wheel, I felt confident as a driver. Tests that being said stress me out and I tend to panic when being tested. It was important for me to pass the driving test as soon as possible, so I can start making a living. First problem came with bookings not available in Whistler or Squamish any time soon. The closest was more than month and a half away and in North Vancouver. I was pleasantly surprised when Anna from Licence to drive offered to check herself with the ICBC to see if there is anything she can do, no guarantees. It did not take long before Anna reached out back to me with information, that she was able to book me in Squamish and only 2 weeks away! This on it's own was worth the cost of the lessons for me personally and that was just the beginning. I booked the minimum 3 hours training with Todd and we decided to practice in Squamish, where my drive test was taking place. Todd is simply an incredible instructor and you can tell he loves being on the road. Thanks to him I could test myself on how am I going to feel on the day of the test and the stress was real.as I expected! I did errors that I would not usually do and it was worth making it with Todd instead of the ICBS testing instructor. After this great training day I have decided to take another session with Todd on the day of the test and this was the best decision I could make. Putting all the chips on the table so to speak to make sure I pass the test on the first attempt. We practiced again and I could tell the confidence is starting to build up. I still did couple errors here and there, good that this was just a practice again! When the real test came, I nailed it and was pleasantly surprised how confident I was, thanks to Todd's training. I passed the test and got compliments from the inspector, this felt amazing. But the most amazing realization came to me on the way home, driving back to Whistler from Squamish. I caught myself driving with the same amount of good habits and observations I learned from Todd and this really is priceless. When everything is said and done, it really isn't about any drivers license test. It's about all of us wanting to return home safely to our loved ones. Todd can help you improve your driving skills and create good habits. This will make you a better driver, period. Great family business and I am forever grateful to you Todd and Anna. Passed first time with Meghan as my main instructor who is a brilliant and very patient. Also has a couple of lessons off Shelly and Todd who were also really good for getting another perspective on driving. All in all this was a great experience for me and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I just passed my class 7N road test with flying colors. License to drive did a lesson to see if I was capable of borrowing their vehicle, and Meghan (driving instructor) suggested I do another lesson squamish before my test which helped completely, mocked the test prior doing the actual road test. I recommend license to drive to anyone get their license either the class 7N or class 5. Meghan was great and look forward for doing a lesson with you guys when I go for my class 5 in 2 years. Both my daughters took their lessons from Todd and passed their "N"'s first try. Todd is patient with the students, knowledgable (seen it all), provides great feedback (after every lesson there's a written analysis of what needs to be worked on) and is always upbeat. He is able to work lessons around school schedules, busy lives and goes above and beyond in helping get the students ready for their tests. THANK YOU Todd!

Licence to Drive is a great company to work with! They are thorough, easygoing and flexible. We just had three of our drivers pass their Class 2 Unrestricted Road Tests with almost perfect scores. They also deliver an excellent air brakes course which leaves each student very well prepared. Every student we have sent through the course has passed their air brakes test. My daughter had a great experience taking driving lessons with Todd. He made her feel very comfortable and always gave great feedback about her lessons. As a parent, it's not always ideal to try to show all of your driving skills to your teen. First, even though I have 35 years driving experience and I consider myself an excellent driver, I quickly realized that there are some rules that I forgot; and second, it gets very frustrating on both sides to try to show your teen how to drive because they think you don't know anything (they might be somewhat right in that case!), you know they don't know anything but they think they do ;). And it can even get dangerous at times if there is too much frustration. So, by hiring Todd, none of this happened, it just made it so much easier. He's super patient, very respectful, he knows all the rules and most importantly my daughter listened to him, did exactly what he said and practiced a lot in between lessons. We also hired him and his car for her road test in Squamish and she nailed it! If you want your daughter or your son to have a positive experience learning how to drive and pass their road test on the first try, don't hesitate to contact them. I just read an article on Global News about an incident involving Todd of Licence to Drive. If you search the story, you will find dashcam footage of Todd instructing a student driver to drive in an incredibly unsafe manner on a very long, winding, two lane highway without any legal passing zones.

You can see a few times on the video where Todd instructs his student to speed up and slow down in front of a vehicle that was behind them on the highway. The person behind Todd's vehicle wasn't even tailgating at first but Todd decided that it would be reasonable for him to go out of this way do something that would piss them off. This type of behavior creates unnecessary road rage incidents and should never be encouraged.

I'm sure that Todd's instructions made his student very nervous and uneasy. If you're going to teach someone how to drive then consider doing it off of the highway that doesn't have any passing lanes. Either that or pull over at one of the many opportunities you had to pull over and let them go around and be on their way. Don't be a jerk and then brake check them to try and "prove a point".

Worse are Todd's self righteous comments to his student while this incident was unfolding. Come on man.you were obviously slothing someone and getting a kick out of it. Just be more considerate to other members of the public and get out of the way.

I would never, ever enroll someone in this driving school or encourage this type of dangerous and anti-social driving behavior.

Todd is the most qualified person for the job. Within just a matter of a few lessons he got me back on the road, to get my “license to drive” if you will. By far the best driving instructor I’ve had, he always made me super comfortable while driving and gave extremely helpful feedback. Todd is in general just a great guy, your kid (or you) will have a great time driving around with him. I never once felt intimidated or unsafe, a very patient and well tempered person. If you are you looking for a driving instructor, look no further, Todd is the one! (Also shout out to Anna for being lovely and organizing all the lessons).
